I just got my nexus few days ago from my friend who just came from America. I am happy with it. Today I installed an app to check dead pixel and what I found was yellow spot around the corners, it seems like the screws are too tight causing the yellow spot. What I mean by yellow spot is something that happens when you press the screen with force.

(it can be clearly seen on bottom left corner)
I tried to open the cover and loosen the screws but it didn't help.
Does anyone here have the same problem and have the fix for it?
It's really annoying to see those yellow spots.
I guess no one has this problem.
And I have no way to return this nexus :crying

I have the same issue, but for now is only visible in high brightness level. I can live with it.
Exactly, and it is only visible when the background is black.
For now I can live with that but I am afraid it will get worse, do you think it will?

looks like really bad light bleed, bleed is when you can see uneven lighting along the edge of the display when looking at a dark image, if loosening the screws didn't help and you cant live with it gonna have to exchange or RMA..
I have no way no return my nexus 7, and I am not currently living in states. I got this nexus 7 from my friend. Well, I guess I have to live with it, until someone finds a proper fix.

In my Nexus 7 (C7O 8GB from playstore) appeared after 3 days of usage, and although it seems to be worse, I think it's not as bad as other issues seen here.
Sorry for my bad English.

Looking at the pictures on Google Play the bezel seems black now, not silver. Or is this just the lighting?
All the I/O units were black around the edge. The images on the play store are obviously not photographs so it may be an oversight, but in this rendering it still looks silver to my eye:

Not many people notice this but the nexus on the box that all of our 7s came in has a black bezel.
Commence box finding..... NOW

Pulling my own box, I can confirm this.
Nice catch.
Didn't cought my eye and "eye" love facts like that.
Might even have been the better choice, because I already have a few scratches around the edges of my Nexus7.
Should have been black all along !
It may have been a last minute decision to colour it silver, the corners of mine have rubbed and it is black underneath. Perhaps the plastic had some visual imperfections that were easier to 'fix' with a coat of silver?
I'm not sure but I think the ones with white back cover have a black frame. I've never seen a white one with silver frame anyway.
I received my Nexus 4 in the mail today. Opened it, set it up, noticed immediately in the Google Now app that the whites were yellow compared to my AT&T LG Optimus G (E-970). Since LG seems to manufacturer both screens (though I can't confirm that), why is the Nexus 4's screen so much more yellow? This is before the 4.2 software update, by the way:

I know camera white balance can throw images like these off, but they appear to my eyes exactly like they do here.
My LGOG was never like this out of the box, as I would have noticed it for sure (since the LG's white is the same as my computer screen's.)
Any thoughts? Are all Nexus 4s affected by this 'warmer' screen tint?
That's just how my new replacement n4 is. Has an ugly yellow tint over the entire screen. My original had a yellow bar along the bottom of the screen... Which was annoying but the complete yellow tint is worse yet!

yup i got the same, but give it sometimes. it will get better though
Hi All,
Been a while since I've visited since purchasing a Nexus 4.
Anyway, my Defy had a cracked screen so I got a new touch screen digitizer to put in it so my daughter could use it.
Got it installed just fine, without any issues.
However, shortly after installing it I noticed this odd grid showing up on the screen. It's only visible when the phone screen is dark colored.
You can see a photo of the grid in this post on Google+. EDIT: Also attached the image to this post.

Anyone have any ideas why that grid is showing? It's not a big deal, as my 3 year old daughter hasn't even noticed it. But if I were still using that phone it's something that would drive me insane. I'm mostly just curious as to why it's there.
Thanks!
I can't be certain but I also had the digitizer replaced and right away I noticed the grid. From what I understand each square is point to recognize touch. From looking at your pictures I would say that mine is not as prominent and I only see mine in lighter screens. I'm going to say its because it's not an original motorola defy replacement because when I compare with my other one (yes I have 2) there is no grid at all and the capacitive buttons are very different looking on the new one. I'm still trying to decide if I can live with it or not cause sometimes it does bug me.

I've had my Nexus for nearly 3 months and yesterday I noticed the black strip (grille) that runs along the speaker was wobbly. I lightly rubbed my finger along it to see how lose it was and the next minute it has fallen out. I not had this phone very long, I've looked after this phone very well using a case and a tempered glass screen protector, and it's already breaking. Not good considering I spent nearly £600 on this! Has anyone else had similar problems?

You are not the first to have this happen, the last time I read a thread on this the owner got a replacement from Google. If you bought from huawei, good luck.

Sigh, hope nothing happen to mine. Got it from best buy

It happened to me, had mine for few months and one time when I pulled it out of my pocket the grill just wasn't there anymore. I bought it from Google and got it replaced with no issues, didn't have that issue so far after a few months with the second one.
Same thing has happened with me, although I've been using it for more than two years now.
Best part of this is, by "wasting" 2 minutes of any part of your day and adding the smallest amount of superglue to it, you will solve this immense problem 100% and then you can forget about having this issue ever again :silly:
UP!
I'm also looking for this grill.
Any solution?
Soooo... My wife dropped her VS980 for the first time in 2 years. All seemed fine (hell I've dropped phones countless times) at least for an hour or two.
We got home and her screen started to do this:

"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

So, I researched it and found that insulation of some screen components in the phone are very important to keep insulated. So I popped it open, and it looked fine. But I threw a piece of electrical tape between the components regardless:
Phone still does the lines. A few key notes: Dark backgrounds don't really affect it, turning brightness up high really sets it off, if I cycle the screen on and off it seems to go away, for a few seconds at least, before it starts creeping back into the screen.
Any thoughts? I was hoping if I powered down and left it inactive maybe it would give the LCD time to reset? Sounds stupid though. Could it be anything else? GPU? Bad luck?

Bought a new LCD from Fixez.com. Just arrived today. Hopefully this corrects the issues. I'll let you all know if it does.

UPDATE: The new screen worked perfectly. Took me about an hour, and was able to get it completely changed. Working great now. I hope this helps anyone troubleshooting screen issues!
