Hello,
I'm thinking about buying Lexar 32gb class 10 micro sd card, because i found that it would be cheaper than a 16gb.
I would like to know if any of you have tried a 32gb class 10 micro sd card on huawei u8800 ideos x5 and what's the performance of it those cards since it's the maximum amount of memory that our u8800 can handle.
Any advice would be apreciated, thanks in advance.

Invest in a SanDisk. It's worth the money for the performance.

Problem is that the shops i went, there aren't many sandisk microsd cards... most of them are like 2gb,4gb,8gb.
I really would like to know if 32gb also have good performance in the u8800
i'm voting for lexar, not sandisk.

Ive bought the lexar 32gb class 10 and it is working like a charm. For those who are from portugal you can buy it at staples for 16,99eur, very cheap in my oppinion. For those who are from other countries you might find it at ebay. Write speeds are between 9.5-13 mb/s and read speeds around 20mb/s way better than class 4

Was thinking of getting a 32GB MicroSD. Sandisk Class 4 (genuine).
Wondering if anyone had a 32GB card in their Play and if there are any problems.
ps. What speed is the card the Play came with?

mine came with a class 4 16gb (UK Unlocked) i bought a 32gb class 4 san disk and it actually seems faster than the 16gb lol. I have no problems with the 32gb at all. My only problem is i wish the play supported 64 gb lol.
Sweet.
Can I ask.
If I upgrade to a 32GB card, is it simply a case of copying over all contents from my 16GB card to the 32gb card?
I have been using app2SD and am NOT rooted if that makes a difference.
Thanks.
32 class 4 is enough but class 6 would be best
i have a 16gb class 4
paid that 19€ on amazon
I use a kingston 32gb class 4 card in my play with no issues at all, im still running out of space on my card tho lol

It seems fine though like, no problems with loading or anything like that.
I have the Full NES romset on there, that takes a little while to load.

Random access is actually slower on higher class sd cards, so emulator roms run better on class 2/4/6 cards

Great.
Need to find a good deal on a Genuine 32GB card then.
The price jump from a 16GB to 32GB is huge.
ps. Anyone know if it is just a matter of copying contents across or will I have problems with most of my apps being installed on SD card (either by app2SD or the stock android 'move to sd').

You probably should not say stuff like that. People are going to run out and get higher class cards expecting their phones to run games at higher FPS and better speed when that's not at all the case.
ive been using a 32gb class 10 for a while now
and its good to have a decent amount of space to put all the games roms on
i mean some games require 1200mb of sd space
the only benifit from getting a class 10 over say class 6 is the class ten has quicker loading times say when loading games etc
ive had no probs using a 32gb
just dont get buying a cheap 32gb memorette micro sd off ebay
i got 2 off 2 different suppliers and both were fake
eg class 4 4gb even though when card was plugged in it did say it was a 32gb
so if you want lots of space get a 32gb
and if you want faster loading time with large apps and games get a higher class
6-10

when i changed from 16 to 32 i always back up my sd card on my pc every now and then just incase my card breaks or i lose my fone , but all i did was copy all the stuff off my old card that was on pc and transferd it to my new 32gb card and all was well
I've bought a 32GB Transcend µSD card. I don't know its class, but it's the cheaper I have found. All I can say is that it is as fast as the 2GB card sold with the phone.

I have bought a Class 10 micro sd from newegg.ca and it was slow on games! Returned and got a class 4 sandisk and runs super smooth
have a 32gb class 10, didnt try it on the phone, because it was partitioned for the nexus one, but on the nexus worked like a charm, tomorrow when i make a single partition and reformat will try it on the play and give you my review.
i bought this one on ebay around march for $98.
I'm using a Lexar class 10 32gb card, and had no problems with anything. Everything runs the same as my sandisk 8 and 16gb cards.
im perplexed. 32 gb class 6 or class 10 for faster load times in games?
After buying a 16GB SD card I foudnd that my phone would randomly freeze and the screen will not turn on. I've replaced that card with a diffrernt brand and now it works.
I don't want anyone else wasting their money on incompatible SD cards in their Motorola Milestone 2s. So I;ve started a list. I will need as much contribution as possible. Thx!
WORKING:
Kingston 8GB Class 4
Kingston 32GB Class 4
Sandisk 8GB Class 4
Sandisk 16GB Class 4
Sandisk 32GB Class 4
Toshiba 16GB Class 4
NOT WORKING:
Kingmax 16GB Class 10
Lexar 16GB Class 4
Lexar 16GB Class 6
Patriot 32GB Class 4
Transcend 8GB Class 6
SOLUTIONS:
Formatting using the phone's inbuilt formatter
Change to a different brand card
I've been planning to buy a 16GB SD myself, but haven't gotten to it yet.
As the device has a SanDisk SD included, i'd say you're absolutely safe with it. However, Kingston SD cards are cheaper, so I'm keeping an eye on that brand. But my preference is SanDisk.
32GB San Disk working just fine for me.

Cheaper and worse. I have been using a few Kingston micro SD cards and all of them after some time just stopped working or lost whole data in contrast to SanDisk which still working fine
Toshiba 16GB class4 works fine
Lexar 16gb class 6 does not work =[
Be careful about Kingston's 16GB TF card. I don't think it is work fine with Milestone 2. When playing video and music, it is OK. But when playing games (such as Dungeon Hunter 2 HD), the program is often not responding.

Well. My first post database only contains SD cards that have been tested by users and verified to work. So you can contributing by buying cards and testing them and posting the results in this thread.
Thanks!

I bought that one and a USB 3.0 microsdxc card reader that supports UHS-1 speeds. While, the s4 will supposedly work with their own card, you won't get the higher read/write speeds on the s4, but you will on your pc.
Sort of a pain to take the card out and stick it in the usb 3 card reader, but for 64gb and you're trying to transfer large video files - may be easier, I suppose

Same here, I had 2 Sandisk SD cards 32GB and both of them got corrupted on MY S3, I don't know is was a bad production or not but the truth is that is very disappointing.
Some people say that rooting phones corrupts the SD card forever, Dunno is its true, Any way I think i will give it a shot on sandisk again for my new S4.
Peace :good:

Hi, I'm thinking about buying new sd card for NativeSd type of Android ROMs.
If someone have positive experience with good sdcard(manufacturer, model) would appreciate it.

Thats what I read but after I bought a new one Sandis 32 GB Class 4 I am having the black sleep of deat (BSOD) and before it I have 32 Kingston class 4 and it was very slow and not functioning at all
I tried many roms and many builds with the same BAD RESULT so now I am back to Nand
So forget 32 class 4 (Sandisk or Kingston)
Regards
awadakrm
I too use a Sandisk 32Gb Class4 and it works great. Nevertheless I changed to Nand with Data on Ext, because the speed isn't breaking down like on NativeSD-Roms.
I was using my old 32 kingstone class 4 and it suddenly died and now I am going to buy a new one ,which one you recommend me for buying ? , I read about SanDisk Ultra 64 GB microSDXC Class 10 UHS-1 and what type of format most reliable for it?

I have the SanDisk 64 Ultra. Only had it and my note3 for a few days but it works fine. Format the card on the phone for best results in my opinion.

Anything below class 8 is at risk of breakdowns on a newer model phone. They're fine for older and less advanced models, but not the new high-end ranges.
Sandisk or Samsung's own line of SDcards is your best bet.
I've personally never had issues with Sandisk.
Had a Medion class 6 one and that one kept becoming unwritable every few days.

You're on the source. It's XDA and the many, many experiences from users. Plus of course general advice from Samsung itself.
To my knowledge SanDisk never made the 64GB MicroSD's below class 10... It was announced second (After Kingmax, iirc) and first to market the 64GB MicroSDXC in September 2011, and that was a class 10....
The "basic" range doesn't go above 32GB.
Well I was hoping more for an article or study as to why a slower card would inherently cause problems.
My card is a Sandisk 64gb Mobile Ultra. It didn't have a class rating on it but Google says that's Class 10. I paid $96 for it...Amazon sells them for $43 now. Damn.
