Can we update SGS2 to 2.3.4 which is meant for nexus s ?
I mean not all in all, but definitely we can Eritrea things & make it fit for SGS2 right ?
Will that be so simple or it's very difficult without source code ?...

Samsung release their own source codes and to modify Nexus S 2.3.4, it will take lot of effort.. Some Devs are trying to use HTC sense on SGS.. but its not easy

Hi,
I am new to Samsung phones so don't know a lot of the terminology. Can anyone please explain what a .pit file is and what a PDA file is?
I understand the android advices guide, but I do not understand why there is no ext4.pit file in the following link, if it is necessary for the upgrade procedure:

We got 16 GB memory and somehow we might have to increase "System Memory"

All of the retail versions should have 2.3.3, this build appears to be a newer one though (XWKDA on my UK one, versus XWKDD).
Unless it is simply for a different region...

I carnt see o2 being branded tbh, if was orange then yes they dominate the phone whole with crap

So all in all because of what you have just done here i say xda should have a feature if someone has opened a thread that is similar to many others that are already out that they should remove all the thanks that a member has and remove all posts that he has made and start them from the start again as that would prove what kinda noobs people are

no mate the roms on Sammobile are officail & its depend upon ur country that where u live , u will get ICS update through Kies if samsung release Rom for ur country & if this topic is posted before then sorry i don't know.

They are official but not for general use that's why there called "leaks". And a quick search brought up 3 other threads similar to this. You should know about the search button.

That is fine but please you have been on here for a while please make sure you look at the forum you create a thread first to see if any other threads have the same topic as the one you want to open and if there is then add your post there instead of opening another thread with the same topic as the many others we already have

seriously mate.....no need to search..most of the threads in the first page of general forum is filled with the ICS rom stuff...so either you might need glasses or maybe a new monitor screen so you can see and read better
and yeah shooting myself in the head i feel like that sometimes with all the crap i read on here lately...

It not only France. Several countries are getting LRU update via OTA (i.e. Ireland has 356MB update)

We can't be 100% sure until we've downloaded it, but a couple of sites are reporting that it's indeed 4.1. But i'll keep an eye on SamMobile's twitter for updates.

It is quite funny, but there is also "wide Austria" OTA file that is actually bigger than others - looks weird when a week ago we got LRQ ICS - first DBT wide germany. and now JB?

Hello everybody,
I'm starting this topic apologising for not being that good in modding Android devices.
I own a Samsung Galaxy S Advance GT-I9070 which runs Android 2.3.6.
Following many tutorials I managed to own root permissions and to load a different firmware on my device, which now is like this:
band version I9070XXLD3, kernel version [email protected] #2, build version GINGERBREAD.XXLD3.
I am very happy with my smartphone, it's very quick, all perfect.
I would like to update Android to a more recent version, possibly the last one.
What can I do?
On the official Android site, under the pèage Device Gallery, I couldn't find my model ;-(

you can not even then updated for the moment we only have gingerbread, and an alpha version of cyanogen mod 7

Sorry for not posting the title in the correct way, meaning "[GT-I9070] - Updating from Gingerbread 2.3.6 to Jelly Bean 4.2". I tried to edit it, but couldn't.
So I guess there's no way to update & upgrade my device, even if it's owned by root permissions.
