Ok.
Stock ROM I imagine?
This is pretty cool. I've yet to break the 100+ hour threshold on my NS4g because I'm always flashing or letting my phone die

Nice. some more info about rom, kernel and usage would be nice. Thanks!

Yes some info about ROM and other stuffs , though am pretty sure I will end up formatting and trying a new ROM in a month but with my ZTE Blade I found my stable ROM a long time back so this kind of uptime was normal in that still not so on Nexus.
i use stock rom and kernel on 2g and auto brigteness. (screen shot update on first post)
GG man GG! I havent seen this since some awesome bloke did it with oxygen 2.3.2
I see 2 days in the screenshot hmmm

Stock rom's are actually stable. I'm sorry to tell you guys, but that's nothing impressive. Two of my coworkers have their running since they got updated to JB, and they're i9020a. Admittedly they are used as work phones but the point still stands. What is impressive is finding a custom ROM or a ROM with tweaks that can do this.
Many times custom roms are unstable, but there also stable roms..
Perhaps people who uses custom roms, like to flash and try new roms, change kernels and so on. So it's obvious that uptimes are lower than a user that doesn't change anything for 41 days (1000 hours)...

Hay Guys.
Here are some Screenshots from my SGS II running stock KF3.
Battery is lasting much longer than on any tested Custom Rom.

12h with 4h screen on? That doesn't sound so great to me... Right now I'm running 2.3.5 (previously kh3 with nimpho 2.1.3) and cpu at 800 max and I used to get about 2 - 2,5 days on a charge...
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
I also get more than 2 days with one charge.
But I don't get more than 4 hours of screen usage @ custom roms.

That's not my experience I get a day plus on custom rom + kernel as opposed to 14 hours ish on stock. I don't think it's possible to get much more than 4 - 4.5 hours of screen on time regardless of which rom you use.

Updated to 4.2.1 with new 32 gig nexus 7. I've heard lots of people have been getting bad battery life with 4.2.1 update. Is mine good or bad? Attached screenshot.
Thanks

It really depends on your screen on time. I'd say getting 5-7 hours of screen on time would be considered good battery life.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
I personally wouldn't consider that good battery life, however I'm spoiled in a sense. I never kept my tablet stock, modded from day 1. But I'm sitting at 85% right now with 4hrs screen on browsing web and xda and it was fresh off the charger. I also get over a week of standby time when it sits.

I'm a noob on the Dev level. I know android and am pretty proficient in certain areas. But would it be theoretically possible to change kernels from within the os. Basically through an app, not in recovery on the boot loader level kind of like swapping boot images on certain older phones. Correct me if I'm wrong or if its not even possible. I know its not a big deal to boot to recovery to change kernels, it would just be a step for development or my large coffee brain possibly over thinking.
Joey Krim has this awesome app called flash image GUI....its was the **** when I had a supported device....and I'm almost sure the N4 is supported check play store

I'll check it out. Its not to big a deal, but I'm obsessed with kernel flashing more than actual Roms, I tend to stick with certain Roms for weeks. Kernels are like an every morning thing before work and see how they do through out the day.
Nexus 4 is supported. I bought it!

It takes a few days to tell the true performance of a kernel, I believe. So if you flash a different one every morning, in theory, you wouldn't be able to see the true benefit of the custom kernel. Sorry if I'm wrong on this subject. But that app works amazing if that's what you're looking for.

I take it back, its not literally everyday. More like two. Technically you should be able to see the difference in responsiveness right away. Between franco and trinity there is definitely a better feel to trinity in my opinion. Yes as far as battery performance goes, the kernel needs a couple charge cycles to settle in, this I know. I haven't tried faux yet and matr1x does very well with battery life. I'm really liking the latest iteration of trinity tf105 and I will stay right where I am for a few more days.
Faux latest beta is amazing for me. Can't go wrong with any of the ones you mentioned.

I have had this tablet for a week now and this is the 2nd update it has had.
For all you wondering if you should get a nexus device do it. even if you dont root and put Cyanogen mod or some other rom you will still be updated regularly!

This was a required update that fixes the GPS issues and erratic touch inputs experienced by many of us. It fixed mine and I am thankful that Google was on top of this and fixed it quickly! We wouldn't have seen this update so quickly after the first one, had it not been for these issues experienced by so many.
Welcome to the world of Nexii! You'll be getting plenty of updates for the next 3 years.

Just unpacked mine tonight which took 2 OTA's straight from the box! I love Nexus and Google for the no hassles, no frills OTA's that come with carrier devices.

Hello, this problem all started back when I was getting Google play services wakelock and battery drain on 4.4 CM. This led me to updating to 5.1.1 lollipop CyanogenMod which I switched from because I thought it was a problem with the ROM, so now I am on 5.1.1 PAC man ROM and the problem is still persisting. Here are screenshots of my gsam battery stats and the problem only occurs the phone app is used (I receive a call or place a call) and it doesn't happen everytime for example I can sometimes place 5 calls before the app starts to show up in gsam and it makes my phone ridiculously hot. If I turn the phone off for 10 minutes and turn it back on the problem will go away but no matter what it comes back. I'm hoping you guys can help me find a legitimate fix to this problem because my 7500mah battery is dying faster than the stock one when this problem is occurring.

That will be my last resort LOL. Reason why I rooted this thing in the first place. Between the TV my dad bought that broke in 3 years and all the problems unrelated to me this phone has had (USB port broke, screen defect that made the phone unusable, and now this) I will never buy Samsung again. Can't wait to get my lg g4
