You're on stock rom?
Code:
System.out.println("Sent from my SGY");
Push the bootanimation on the correct path i.e system/media..
Wait..I think evo 2.1x has build.prop tweak to disable bootanimation..
Do this, using root ex, go to system/ open build.prop, check if debug.sf.nobootanimation=1 is present, if the value is 1, change it to 0 and reboot, now the bootanimation should appear

You mean there boot animation? Replace the bootanimation.zip in system > media with your own (make sure it is named bootanation.zip) and set permissions to 644.
And like always, make a nandroid backup first just in case.

No,not boot animation..the phone animation..like the effect when you change volume,press menu,etc..
Sent from my X8 using XDA Premium App
That is included in most themes, so you would have to install a new theme.
Mostly are coded into framework-res.apk in system/framework but other are app specific.
Use Apk Manager for decompile them and change what you need.
be carefoul, if you change something wrong your phone could go into a bootloop, make a nandroid backip before.
Search in forum for framework-res and you will find a lot of good guides for modify it.

That's kinda a silly question mate. Replace the SystemUI.apk of that rom with yours, and also insert lidroid-res.apk in your framework. Don't do the changes directly, make a flashable zip (there's a guide by kurotsugi) and flash it.
Btw, i don't really know if this has been tried before.

Here it is - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1669489. Btw, i expected you to search. Do remember that next time.
And about the other thing you referred to, i suppose you refer to the theme, and i really don't know much about that! But there are two other apks, framework-res.apk and twframework-res.apk in /system/framework which are used for theming along with SystemUI.apk . You can decompile them and check for yourself.

Is there a way to choose/make/browse themes [FULL] only for incoming call screens? Especially for Samsung Galaxy Y, the stock answering call is really bad.
Is it possible to download / theme the incoming call screen via Metamorph? And where to find such themes for Samsung Galaxy Y?
I already know about some third-party apps on Play store such as Ultimate Call Screen HD, but they don't do what I need.
p.s. I'm NOT looking either for ROMs with different incoming call screens (I'm here for a simple way to theme the incoming call screens for android)

Anyway, I found many Phone.apk online for different ROMs and different Android devices. Is it OK if I used any for my Galaxy Y?

I downloaded several Phone.apk(s) from the net, but every time I try to install one it asks me that "this is a system app, do you want to replace" and say yes but then it says (Application not installed)
What could be wrong? and how to fix it?

Yes I agree with koradiavatsal, u should flash through cwm, or try this, copy the file (Phone.apk) to /system n set permission to rw-r--r-- n then move n replace it to /system/app, then reboot. If this not succesfull the one way is flash it through cwm

Before I continue to to the replacement inside the system/app directory...
Is it ok to replace even if the Phone.apk is made for ICS or JB? I of course use GB.
I installed all apk found under system/framework with apktool.
*framework-res.apk & another apk
Then decompiled Settings.apk of Xperia pro stock ics Rom.
After that ,without making any change I compiled the apk. Then I surprisingly noticed that the size compiled apk is 1/3 of original stock settings.apk .
Then I flashed the apk using cwm to my phone to test if it work .after flashing, the setting icon is invisible in launcher menu !
Plz anybody tech me how decompile and re compile stock settings.apk of Xperia pro properly..

What tool do u use? For settings u edit setting_header.xml where is that present and all u must be knowing?!
After clicking on compiling apk manager asks to delete resources.arc and also the xml you edited. Then compile it should.

I really dont know what rom your using , AHA, and here's the information about how Bootanimation.zip can be placed in /system/media with custom roms or in or /data/local with stock roms with custom kernels as Battery Extender, Cf-root...
So, mount system (R/W) and paste bootanimation.zip in system/media/ or in in /data/local/ and set the correct permissions rw--r--r-- (if it doesn't work set rwxrwxrwx as permissions , and i hope someone willing to help you with this problem.Have a nice day.
