Hi, look for " droid X cpu governors " in the forum: you will find a zip to flash in order to get them .
You will need a custom recovery to flash them before booting in the bootmenu set them as you like
Boosted governor
Does anyone know what does the "boosted" CPU governor do precisely? I have found information on all other governors except this.
Using Defy+ CM7.2 (White Rabbit 1.7), stock kernel.
Boosted is a modified smartass(v2?) governor, its quite same as smartass.

boosted is the same as smartassv2 only with different preferences.
btw the updated droidx governors zip link is in my sig.

Thanks guys have been wondering about this boosted, also which setting is best for general use and battery life.

Set cpu does CPU and Tegrak does CPU and GPU for gaming but Tegrak cannot be used on all custom kernels (stock and CF Root mainly, not Abyss and FM kernel)
I like tegrak a little better. Especially when I tweaking voltages or playing with different settings. Tegrak runs a little stability check after every boot. if things go wrong it automatically reverts to stock

GALAXY NOTE
Please post ur voltages after doing the tegrak overclock guys..
so, whenever i use conservative governor it works properly for some time by after that the CPU spends all time at clk3 i.e.1000mhz. ondemand governor works fine.
btw, i tried cm7.1,7.2,miui,wiui,cm white rabbit but still conservative governor doesn't work properly.

doesnt matter which rom you use, governors are in the kernel, and i suppose you havent changed kernel in between... try flashing the cm7/froyo kernel from quarxs site (quarx2k.ru)!

I have rooted my Defy+ with BL7, installed 2nd init, and I have tried to overclock to 1.2 GHz but every app shows 1.0 GHz.
It is possible to overclock with stock ROM DFP-231?
I HAVE INSTALLED THE ZIP FILE FROM THIS SITE IN CWM-RECOVERY
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/43690836/Android Public/Multiboot/bm_cwm_mb_v0.8-signed.zip
AND AFTER THIS SETVSEL WAS WORKING.
IS INSTALLING ALL THIS STUFF:
- Touch BootMenu v2.0.0
- TWRP 2.1.1 for Motorola Defy (Stable recovery)
– CWM v5.0.6 – jordan (Custom)
- Multiboot script v0.5.5
- Multiboot binary v0.1
- Defy Overclock (default settings: 1GHz, 600MHz and 300MHz).
Or see this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=25479166&postcount=16203
with out install

It shouldn't be a problem. Be sure that overclock status in a bootmenu is enabled and that you save your changes before you leave this menu and reboot.
I have installed even the latest cm9 as multiboot from quarx2k but the rom shows Max freq. 1000mhz (in 2nd init I have 1200mhz).

If you want to do it, you need more power. Increase Vsel (guessing it's vsel4) @ 1200mhz to 68 but never go above 70.
How can i add the vsel4 because i have in 2nd init only 3 vsel

Doesn't really matter if you have 3 or 4 vsel's. If you've changed Clk3 to 1200mhz then you should increase voltage of vsel3 to 68. For more info on this see this blog
I have installed Setvsel but when I open it the phone keeps restarting. It seems to me that overclock does not work with defy+ stock ROM. Am I wrong?
Sent from my MB526 using XDA
first install motorola overclock and load module and then use setcpu to change the frequency...this solution worked for many..
if ur phone keeps restarting that means that the voltage is very low..change the voltage first in bootmenu and then try to open setcpu..
hope it works

not worth installing it, latest stock ROM is faster compared to it, also its not stable, overheats easly and you can get random FCs - reboots, i'd recommend using latest stock kernel.
your phone will generate more heat on 1.248 mhz, so you'll get low performance compared to stock 1.000 mhz CPUs and it will reduce your battery - CPU life.
If you still want init.d and other kind of stuff custom kernels has to offer, try hellfusion #50, its the fastest custom kernel in my opinion, though i didn't test any custom kernels in last 2 months

Read again, try hellfusion #50, I could play jetpack joyride without any lag, except when game switches between textures (thats kind of due to RAM bottleneck)
Hellfusion #50 Kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1891682&highlight=hellfusion
And also keep in mind no kernel is good without tweaks, I'd recommend fly on mod and v6 supercharger [do not use fly on mod ram manager while v6 supercharger ram fixes are active]
You should also try defferent governors and I/O schedulers, I used antutu benchmark to test results with different I/O - governor combinations. Some of the kernels give low performance on smartassv2, while others give the best performance the kernel could give, so you'd better try all of them.
Galaxy y has very low internal storage, so try to keep it clean (when theres 30 mb empty or so, my phone gets lag spikes while gaming)
The kernel I gave you above has ext4 support. So use repencis ext4 converter or any other converters that convert system, data and cache partitions to ext4, then REMOVE EXT 4 JOURNALISM (IT MADE MY PHONE A LOT FASTER)
Ext 4 journalism disabling script : http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=2009287&d=1370093464
Re: [ROM]|4.2.2|D802|Pardus HD RoM™ G-Flex VIII|Fast|Stable|DeBloated|DeOdexed|15.02.
Help
i flashed the non flex version of pardus romand didnt flash any custom kernel like dorimanx's kernel or sth
I am using nofrills app to control cpu clocks
But it wont change anything
It stays on 2.2 max and 1.5 min governor ondemand
Row schedular
Nothing affects them is that because it's stock kernel ?
And what the hell is the idea of making the minimum clock speed 1.5 ghz?
Guys plz if anyone faces such a problem tell me how you outcame it

Post in the thread, don't make a new thread....
I would suggest giving a different kernel a try then, or it could be the app you are using to try and control the kernel. Might give something like system tuner a try first
