which one makes my phone faster? - Xperia Play General

Hey, my phone runs with the doomkernel v14 and the gin2jb Rom since them are released, but i heard the Dixperia 2 Rom is some faster than the gin2jb rom.
So back to my question, which one is faster, the doomkernel or the Lupus kernel and the gin2jb rom or the Dixperia 2 Rom?
Sorry if i made some gramatical mistakes ^^
and Thx

I second that question, im running the same and would like to know too.

Lupus should be faster because of linaro and is probably based off of doomlords kernel but idk about dixperia or g2jb

DooMKerneL has linaro as well, ya know...

So is there no difference between these 2 Kernel?

They have different optimizations/features. Just read the info for each kernel. I think the LuPuS kernels are more minimalistic, while the DooMKerneLs have more features. Again, they'll say what they do on their own threads

Doomkernel is smooth and stable. Lupus is new and still in development but it does givs u more gov choice than dooms. So either 1 of them are fine. If u hav any doubt with custom kernel why don't u use dooms advanced stock kernel as it more stable and it lets u choose gov and i/o but dosen't hav the ability to oc.
As for rom gin2jb and dixperia they both smooth but dixperia has more feature than gin2jb. Like mine. It may also work on gin2jb but haven't got any tester than runs on that rom yet.

CyanogenMod 9.0 Battery Life

Hello People,
I've tested many ICS Rom's for my Arc
and I have found JJ Hybrid Ver1.2 has the maximum battery life, I've seen on my Arc.
But I really like CM9.0 Rom, only problem I found in CM is the battery life. Around 20% drain overnight vs 4-5% drain in JJ Hybrid.
So which is the best ROM for battery life available here.

CyanogenMod can only be used with FXP kernels...
i tell JJ Hybrid....
I've tried Arconium, JJ and CM and my experience is that Arconinium with CWM stock kernel gives me the best battery performance, drain is about 5-8% during night depending if you enable or disable gsm-data. When I tried JJ i had a drain that you've experienced on the CM9. By experience it also helps by rebooting the phone atleast once a day

ArcKnight Kernel - Backport to GB

Hi guys!
I just got a request from Chiefy asking me to Backport ArcKnight Kernel to GB, and so it could also provide support to those of you who don't want to Upgrade to ICS yet.
So here I am asking the community if you think it is worth it to backport the Kernel and if also you're are willing to support my work at the moment my main computer got broke and I'm stocked with a pentium 4 3Ghz CPU with 1GB of RAM. But when I run Ubuntu through VMware player I can only use 512MBs of Ram and it's a pain ** ** *** to compile like that and it will be really difficult for me to maintain two kernels with so low specs computer.
Would you like me to backport it?

I think, its better than you focus in ICS. GB have a good doomkernel. ICS dont.

Hello friend!
First, congratulations for the beautiful work.
Use your kernel with rom ICS and am very pleased.
In my opinion I think it would be very interesting to port the ArcKnigth Gingerbread. Mainly because I still prefer, and I believe there are still many like me, Gingerbread roms to be faster and more functional.
Au support!
Thank you!

Thanks for the support

Error in temple run? What an interesting Rom.
I'm using arconium ICS with arcknight kernel
Arconium 4 with KTG kernel, I dont know but I dont have any bugs, by far the best ROM for arc/s is super fast and smooth (I tried every ROM in xda for arc s)
There really is not any competition to jjdoctor's ROM.

dude, we're using same rom
and about that, I haven't found any problem with sensor beside temple run as I only use few apps using accelerometer
Flash the Xperia S ICS rom yesterday and I must admit it is so much better than the arc S update. Don't know why they didn't use this rom for all of the Xperia 4.04 updates!

KA21
MooDeD Paranoid Android CM9 v1 with FXP Kernel.
Been using it less than a day & finding it really smooth & the Tablet UI is a nice addition. Also Drive, GMail & Calendar are far more usable with the Tablet interface compared to the usual Phone interface.
This is my first custom ROM & Kernel combo I've used, before I've just customized stock 4.0.3 & 4.0.4 to remove bloatware or used jjs ROM for locked B/L.

Which rom should I use

Well I have a r800x unlocked BL nd was wondering what exactly is the best rom/kernel combination for my play
I'm not big on the gaming functionality but do want camera and wifi Bluetooth stuff like that and I was also wanting a JB rom bad but ICS will do if the JB is too unstable
So yea XDA tell me what your choices are
Sent from my GBTweaked v7.1 r800x using Tapatalk 2
To be honest my first choice would be to tell you to check out miui-australia(its got its own kernel & its ics)... But only because its got loads of space...very stable, but aokp is good also (With wedgess lupus cm9 based kernel)...thats just me tho... As for jb I personally haven't tested any... But here good things about cj's slimbean port...
Sent from my R800x
Check out Slimbean with Turbo kernel.
If you want something a little more stable, try regular CM9 or MIUI Australia.
Sent from my Amazon Kindle Fire
I had to revert to FXP CM9 with the Adreno ICS driver, the driver didn't work with SlimBean for me. Still, stock GB 2.3.4 is fastest for gaming.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus
I would suggest the P.A.C.man ROM. It's got bugs, but I never thought my play would be this smooth. With 4.1.2, my phone is relevant again!
I never really liked miui as I flashed it to my brothers Droid x and it was to ummm.....IOS'ee for me love the look of aosp the best

This thread was obviously missed when it was started but best ROM threads shouldn't be posted as there is no such thing as "best ROM", it's all down to what suits you best so try them yourself and find what's best for you.

[Q] [Kernel] Best OC Kernel for KK

Hello XDA!
Atm i am using Omega Rom v12 with Omega kernel but i want to OC my phone and wonder which Kernel that is the best.
SnapKat kernel Rev2.9 (CPU OC 2.88GHz, GPU OC 550MHz)
leanKernel v2.3 (CPU OC 2.72Ghz, No GPU OC)
Custom N3 (CPU OC 2.5ghz, No GPU OC)
So atm i think i will use SnapKat because of the high CPU OC and you can also OC the GPU.
but it seams that LeanKernel is more popular.
So which OC Kernel is the best?
Be first to replay
You have to determine which is best for yourself.

First question to ask yourself is why do you need to OC? Gaming? Benchmarks? because you can?
Second, try them all for at least 3-6 days each and decide which improves your perception on them
Third, you could always compile one and add some mods to it yourself if you're feeling brave

Could you maybe do some research on your own ?
There are just a few kernels, so no need for someone to spoon feed you.
And this thread should be closed, because it's ridiculous.
