Super Bricked Impulse 4g u8800-51 - Huawei Ideos X5 U8800

new to this forum stuff but not to technology. Got a thinker here. Problem: impulse 4g u8800-51 has no hardware problems but will not power on. How it happend: i was in windows 7 doing a format of a USB HD when i formatted the whole phones HD. after format completed phone powered off. I've spent about a month trying everything i can. from lsusb in linux to trying using USB scanner / pc interface cable to get communication with the device with the computer. anybody have any ideas. cuz im just about start taking it apart to see what i can do with its parts but i'll check it out here first.

It seems like your EMMC card is wiped. The problem is that PBL on SOC wants to load DBL from EMMC (mmcblk0p3), and it doesn't exist so the device won't boot.
Currently, we have not discovered a way to restore from this kind of brick, so JTAG is probably the only way to do it at home. Who knows, there may be a way to restore from this brick but as said, no one has discovered it.

I dont know if this will helps but once I also did something stupid and formatted the partitions via CWM, (which is different from your case) so if you may power up your phone using the 2 volume + power button maybe this link will help you http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=23834865&postcount=6

ok im going to buy the jtag box to fix this phone which one should i buy?

[Q] Tattoo Bricked

Hello,
I tried to update the radio and the SPL version on my Tattoo. Everything went fine until I had to reboot my phone. It shut down alright, but it never powered on again.
These are the following problems I am having with my Tattoo at the moment:
Cannot power on phone.
Cannot boot into recovery mode.
Cannot boot into FastBoot.
When I connect it to my computer via USB, nothing happens.
The only thing that it's responding to is when I connect my it to my charger.
Does anyone have a solution or is my phone dead forever?
Thanks ahead!
bump? anyone?
Send it back to HTC. If anyone can do anything about it they can. There's nothing else you can do. Sorry
boo.. that sucks..
Well, thanks anyway
Ehm, I don't want to post a New Thread so I'm gonna ask here:
Does anyone have the pinout for the Tattoo?
Take a look at this. I guess they fix such things (but you never know if they just are after your money. http://www.ort-jtag.com/index.php
Yeah I saw that already. Also, there is a file name Tattoo Jtag on their website in the Support section. However, to access that section you have to enter your products serial number (which is I'm guessing the phone's serial number). I have tried several serial numbers (including mine) and all of them were 'invalid' so I never checked the files out.
Also, they only have one thing in the shop which is a kit and it costs $330 so no thanks
I have a similar problem, I would like to share my knowledge although I must be completely out of way.
My experience is based on the BeagleBoard and Angstrom so I really don't know the HTC HW and Android at all...
- The device boots from an xloader that instructs the device how to proceed with the boot
- the bootloader takes place (great u-boot in the beagleboard ?? in the HTC phone) the bootloader allows for ROM or kernel+rootfs flashing and much more
- now the kernel is loaded.....
User mode applications do not allow to have access to the memory area where xloader and u-boot lie so they should be safe all the time to allow for device reflashing.
So we should have access to the device via bootloader anytime if we knew how... maybe somebody can help us further.

Same here...Exact same issue...No Recovery mode...No USB Connectivity, Screen turns on but is blank, alhough I did see Tattoo popping up initially but not any more...All I can see is the LCD back light turns on...Battery does charge...Also when I try to enter Recovery mode screen keeps blinking as if it is trying to restart again and again...Someone help
similar problem here, but i get absolutely no response from the phone, it doesn't even recognize the charger. do i just throw it away and buy a decent one or is there a solution?
Sparky the only way for now to fix that click is to bring it to some service point that have that ort jtag, because only way to fix that is to writte new boot sector on phone . Im sure that i know at least 2 services that have ort jtag in Novi Sad . Look for marvel *Miroslav in Ns, or send me private message
same thing happened to me
just this morning, and in desperation I tried hard to remove the batt cover (prob pressed some of buttons, I felt a jerk and ho it was back in amon ra`s recovery, nect time I just removed the battery waited for 30 secs, then press off&home and hold it till recovery came back) but for good half hour NO REACTIONS , ABSOLUTE BRICK, nothing when I put the usb in PC or in socket, dead screen, no sounds and no reaction to ANY combination of keypress. I guess you could call me lucky (in last few days I flashed at least 3 versions of froyo roms, this afternoon I bought =8GB class4 Kingston, formated it in PC FAT32 default size, copied EVE. from my 2gig rom then just turned it down (yes I am brave) and put the 8gig in tattoo, it works like a charm (finger crossed it will continue)
So is there an available Jtag for the Tattoo yet?
I'm in the same situation. No recovery no fast boot, Damm!
I`ve update psfreedom with psgroove_hermes_v4 zip file then my tattoo reboot and now I only get the Tatto title screen but nothing happends.
Somebody have clue to give back life my phone.
Thanks!
if you can get to the title screen, that means you can connect it to your pc via USB and recover from a backup (I hope you made one)
Hello, I connect my tattoo to my pc, but usb connection is not available yet.

DE-BRICK DELL STREAK (completely Bricked)

Dear All experience developers,
I am actually a newbie, If what I said is wrong please correct it, I post this post here because I think it's related to developer rather than others, even it's talking about de-brick.
I have a black DELL STREAK (31800-EU), but because I have done something wrong (fastboot erase system -w, and it hanged at erasing CATCH, and I disconnect the cable and pull-out battery to go to recovery and install .pkg file), it's now seem completely dead with nothing happen no matter what combination key I use (Vol-Up + Vol-Down + Power, Camera + Power, Vol-Up + plug USB cable for QBL) nothing happen for me).
As I go around, I saw the teardown page http://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/Dell-Streak-Teardown/3512/2, they have mentioned that there is a secondary 2GB microSD used to house the system and data, so DO YOU GUYS THINK THAT WE COULD DE-BRICK MY DELL BY RE-WRITE THIS HOLD 2GB CARD WITH A IMAGE FROM SOMEONE WHO HAS HIS DELL IN WORKING?
Question to all experience developers,
I know all you guys are really strong understading about DELL Streak,
Q1- In the teardown page, they found 2GB microSD + Hynix H8BES0UU0MCR NAND-based MCP, so microSD should be ROM and the Hynix... should be device RAM, isn't it?
Q2- What is a NAND backup means, when you guy used to do it on other Android devices, is it a full backup of device ROM?
Q3- I maybe can try to use 1 of your provided NAND backup file to byte-copy to a new 2GB microSD for test.
Thanks.
first question, what were you trying to achieve by running that command!
second, could you not push a new image over to it via fastboot? removing it cleared the memory and it seems theres nothing there for it to boot from, so you'd have to try and get the sd card out (does involve tearing the whole thing apart, have done it myself) to see if you can restore anything to it.

Firstly I have owned a G1, and dev just say try to wipe system before you flash new ROM to avoid boot loop, so I just follow it.
Currently, the phone is completely not boot even fastboot or Qualcom Dianostic mode. And that is why I am trying to ask someone if they could byte copy their internal 2G SD for me and I can try to tear my phone out to retore the SD.
Please kindly advide me if I could have other option to retore the SD, I can try to tear my phone out.
Thanks, Ratha
Please tell me this was resolved as I have encoutered basically the very same thing. My phone... well brick, won't do a damn thing. Very appreciative of anyone who is willing to help.
Have you tried qdltool? I think the os is on the nand not the 2gb internal card, so if its fubar'd I don't think there is a way to fix it. Turn off your streak and hold volume up as you plug it into your computer, if your computer detects it then there may he hope via qdltool. I'm a noob also so take that for what its worth.

Honestly, above solution is a bit strange but it worth a try please try and confirm. If this does not work then the only solution is to JTAG your device using Riff Box which will resurrect your mobile BUT!! from my experience and others in this forum and other forums your device will not recognize the SIM card any more. Therefore, take care. Once you try Riff Box, please leave a feedback of your experience.

My nexus tablet 32gb is permanently bricked

Ok I bought this tablet on 4/7/2014 then yesterday which was 4/8/2014 it bricked on me and it wont power on or charge i tried taking the battery out then replacing it that didnt work next i tried the volume combinations that didnt work either i ran fast boot via pc didnt even picked up the tablet my guess is that either the file structure or NAND went bad and i need to fix that so i can use it again if you know a way to get this tablet working then please tell me also i tried many android toolkits none worked im guessing i need to fix the NAND but dont know how if you can help i would really appreciate it oh btw i was running stock 4.4.2 and had an unlocked bootloader at the time its like my tablet is completely empty.
If you only had it one day is RMA an option? Otherwise your looking at a new motherboard. Does anything happen when you plug it into a PC any noise or connection? Usually corrupted nand will turn on but will bootloop and any attempt to flash will fail. You may be stuck in apx mode with a corrupted bootloader but either way it sounds like your up a creek.

[Q] Nexus 7 (2012) Broken bootloader, apx mode

A few weeks ago my girlfriend rebooted my Neuxs 7 but it somehow got in a bootloop. I tried to fix this but i managed to shred the bootloader i guess because now it won't turn on at all.
I've tried to boot it into fastboot, but that won't work, so i'm pretty sure that the bootloader is broken.
When i plug it in to my computer and hold in the powerbutton it shows up as a apx device, which i guess is a good thing in this situation (meaning i havn't completely broken the device).
I'm not very skilled with these kind of situations and really need help from you guys.
I've read about apx drivers and if i understand the situation correctly i could somehow install a new bootloader this way?
Could anyone help me step by step restoring my precious Nexus?
I could send it to service, but i don't think i have any warrenty left on it since i bought it almost 2 years ago. I also suspect it would cost me a lot of money if i send it to service.
Please give me happy answers
Pretty sure you needed to make a backup of your device first to flash back with apx mode as this is device specific
Same problem here.
From what I read the only way to restore your N7 in APX mode is if you had a backup(again from apx mode). But now the device doesn't have(or its broken somehow) a bootloader anymore so we can't do it.
If you still have warranty return it,if you don't buy a new motherboard(40-60$ on ebay depending on the storage) and change it your self. There is plenty of tutorials on the web how to do it.
Good luck.
I believe I have the same issue. Nothing on screen, does not come up on computer but shows as APX. Does back up have to be from our device or can a backup be made by someone and we restore from that copy?
To the best of my understanding it is device specific so for those who want to be safe make a backup now as you can't use someone elses

Okay, well that sucks! Guess i'll have to order a new motherboard then.

Help with bricked SAMSUNG GALAXY S4 AT&T

Hi guys,
Over about an year ago I SIM unlocked a SAMSUNG GALAXY S4 AT&T. Several weeks ago it stared showing a gray lock on the bootscreen, but it would boot up. Now it just won't boot up or anything. Computer can't detect it. Plugging it into a wall socket does not do anything. It's not the battery I tried with another one. I honestly can't remember if I rooted the phone when I sim unlocked it. I also can't remember his Android version, maybe it was 4.2.x or 4.4.x .... I just don't remember, it was more than a year ago.
What I noticed was that if I remove the battery, leave it out for a while and then plug it back in I have about a 3-second window where the screen turns on and shows the gray lock again. After that it turns off.
I've been reading online, but I can't find a definite answer. Some say it's a USB port problem, others say it's a hard brick.
Please guys, help.
Sounds like a hard brick. Plug it in without the battery. different port at least.. then check device manager and if you see something like "QLoader 9008" under COM PORTSor something similar, then its telling you it cannot communicate with the motherboard.. Qfuse blew.. and chances are the version was 4.4.2. I mean the screen will not turn on at all, no boot, no recovery, i mean if odin doesnt detect it.. then it's a hard brick in more than one way. Sometimes this happens. they call it sudden death syndrome lol.. and since you did some minor modification (please, sim unlock is basically routine now) you are correlating it with that. If Odin does detect it, which it will show "COM:#HERE Added!" or whichever.. then you have a shot.. you might need to use some brick files if you can get the phone into download mode. I mean there's other options like getting a new EMMC or... JTAG types of stuff, quick soldering.. it's a fuse that blew when updating whatever it was updating... or.. it just died. That also happens.
there are other ways to fix it if it shows up like that.. usually getting a debrick image with that exact same OS that he had, boot loader and all.. it has to be a class 10 (or better) sd card.. you simply use something like win32has to match the speed of the boot process and if it is fried, then after about 60-90 seconds, you'll get a boot screen. 16GB is optimal.. or 32GB. Remember... class 10 or better. 10 MB/s minimum speed, usually. Sometimes you'll get away with a crappy card but at least try to do 16 or 32.. there's so much info about it. You just need to use win32 disk imager.. it'll write it to the SD card. FAT32 obviously is the needed file system at the very least. You can also use linux, which is what I actually prefer, but if you're in windows, then just use win32 disk imager. don't try to open the debrick image. just.. look for it.
