What's the best ICS rom out there ? - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Hey guys.
I have flashed a lot of HD2 roms but i seem i cannot find a ICS or JB rom that is both really smooth and fast.
Can you recommend me something good please ?
I need it to be fully functional, good call quality, fast and friendly with the battery.
Thanks for your support.

It has been ask many times & it still does not exist

Then, what's the closest to my demands ?
I seem to have troubles in finding a decent rom to be a daily driver...

However try BlueOrange Mix Rom by Jamal, it is **** hot with speed!

Tytung's new update is very good. Very smooth and great battery life for me so far. But depends on what you run.

not perfect but usable JB Paranoid

First of all, as of today, there is no any JellyBean ROM that is smooth.
And as far as I can tell, most ICS are quite stable and smooth.
As you have been told before, look for the best yourself.

Xylo's slim ics is very fast and smooth and it requires very little system partition size, give that a shot I'm sure you are gonna like it

i prefer tytungs latest ics build

I agree, not as fast as "CM9ight Leo", but 3G works on it ;P You can check my list of 3g-working roms to avoid disappointment ;P

I'm using Blue-Orange Mix atm (link's in the signature) and it's awesome. Use it for my daily drive with absolutely no issues at all.
Talking of ICS roms, is A2SD scripts for ICS fixed and working with no bugs? Because I remember people saying that they were having low volume bugs because of this.

IMO the best rom is
[1.Sep.2012] NexusHD2-ICS-4.0.4-CM9-HWA V2.7 (Kernel: tytung_HWA_r3.4)
Very stable it has lots of updates and almost everything works

Aokp b40 is my stable daily rom

I have to agree. I tried all ICS roms and then came across this. Its fast and its stable. Am using it and would suggest this to anyone thinking of ICS.

paranoidandroid..love to see tablet on my HTC HD2:good:

tytung nexushd2 of course :good:

i suggest you to try the cyanogenmod 9 nightly or tytung ics rom, they are the most stable and smooth

Fastest rom?

I was just wondering, whats the fastest rom around?
(Preferably with Sense).
I tried Cyanogen, and a Froyo 2.2 rom, but they all were just sloppy and slow.
I think the fastest in openfire. But everybody has their opinions
hello,
I tried every single Rom Forum identically, and CyanogenMod is really the best!

No -.-''
The fastest is OpenFire -.-''
i think is cm
Openfire is faster as it's just based from AOSP and no addons. Cyanogen is fast but it includes extra features which makes it awesome.
With me Rom of Danne_jo is number One.
The fastest sense rom is SUnAaBh
And yeah, openfire is the fastest overall

Definately openfire.
The fastest sense rom would be sunabh.
The fastest AOSP rom would be openfire.

sorry to bump quite an old thread but how much faster are sunabh or openfire compared to the original wildfire rom? my girlfriend has one and really wants to see a performance improvement since everyting is quite laggy... are there any benchmark/quadrant tests or something?

They are really much faster.
The stock rom is pretty slow because of HTC Sense.
I really like CyanogenMod 7 nighty builds.. They are fast, look good, nice features so i recommend you go for CyanogenMod.. Or if its just speed that you want without the goodies then go for the others..
Pawnbox is right! I´m using CM7 Build #19 since yesterday and my phone rocks!
It`s very fast an it´s based on 2.3 (Gingerbread). But read the thread carefuly the newest versions still have problems with the phone.apk. The last stable is Build #19.
Have fun

Since I'm a Sense fan, I go with Virtuous Affinity 3.11.0 Alpha 1. It's really smooth, but can be laggy at times. But then remember it's an alpha. But blackwing's ROM has a working camera, so that's a plus 100000. So for me, Virtuous Affinity 3.11.0 Alpha 1 or blackwing's AOKP.
I an downloading the new creamed glacier, will report back

My opinion, they are all buggy and need much improvement before it's a daily driver for me.
Don't get me wrong all of our developers do an AWESOME job, but there is only so much one can do with limited supplies. And until relative phone has ICS on it, we're going to be stuck with buggy ROMs.

Only time I use BT is to transfer files from one phone to another. imo not a deterrent for using this rom when I can just transfer another way. Good to know that it dont work though, I think another ICS one was having BT problems too.

Best rom guidance

Ok right now I'm using the matrix rom, and is real good on my t-mobile nexus s. The thing is that I know is pretty old and I kbow there are several newer more stable roms out there but wich one ia the best of all? I'm looking for the fastest but not just that but stable if that's not available what would be the fastest and still be super steady and bug free.

Try a few! I tell EVERYONE who asks this question the same thing...
THERE IS **NO** BEST ROM (OR KERNEL)
Different phones behave differently with roms/kernels. Make a nandroid, flash something, and use it for a few days/weeks. Don't like it? Flash something else! Obviously you probably want to start with the jelly bean based roms and go from there. Look at the comments in the threads and base your opinion on what you want to try from what other people have said.
Hope that helps.
Back in the day I tried several infinity and don't remember others they were not stable as matrix is. I tried one of the first ics custom rom don't remember which ones and it was very unreliable. Was it because it was pretty new or all ics roms suck and is better to stay with gingerbread custom roms?

ICS ROMS run great... I was using CM9 up until yesterday when I switched to CM10. Very smooth and good battery even with the stock kernel (referring to CM9)
Closed, no such thing as a "Best" rom.

Same here, but with one exception. When I mount SD Card to PC I'm loosing widget on home screen (Beautiful Widget) and also my keyborad changes from SwiftKey3 to Android Keyboard.
Beside of these issue Rom is working perfectly.

Personally I'd go for Derteufel's build of CM10 with /datadata V8. Note that JB is no way a mature development though, you will experience bugs at such an early stage. Go back to ICS if stability is your priority.
Haha
I think the CM10 by pawitp is the best
but as ballsofsteel said, its only an alpha version.
so you will get bugs everywhere
I´m satisfied with the cm10 build, because the functions I need are working (sms, data :victory
but if you want to have the "whole" experience, try cm9
kind regards

LESS asking, MORE READING.
Please. It's not that hard to read through the few recent pages of the threads (devel or general), yes?
But I'll just tell you, that CM9.1 is pretty stable for daily use. WLOD might be occurring, but rarely (to me at least). Other functions are working great, except for video recording/encoding/decoding.
And to be frank, I don't like Fera's ROMs. I have my own reasons. I'm not gonna trigger a flame war, so let's just stop there.
Dude is the fps uncapped for ics roms? I hav 2.3.3 uncpped at 53-54fps. I heard that x10 ics roms are still capped at 30fps.
Sent from my X10i using xda premium
Yes, all is only at 30 FPS for now. But it's not a big deal. The scrolling still looks smooth, just the animations aren't really that smooth (but big improvement when the animations speed are halved).
Go for FeraLab
Out of the ics roms i have tried the Feralab Ics roms were the fastest and most stable. They are also very light roms and the camera is almost fixed jst needs video recording to be perfect. Also fera has been working very hard on improving this.

Fera ICS has been uncapped to 38-40 fps
buddy, stop the laziness & go read the rom's threads or better flash an ICS rom & see for yourself or even better flash an ICS rom & test it & report bugs and participate in development
but speaking of stability all of them are stable for daily use but I prefer FXP's CM9, but the question is are they fast & smooth enough for daily use? After using a super fast GB rom like CM7ZMOD I'm having a hard time adapting to X10's ICS roms, not sure if it's because of X10's lack of enough ram or fps uncap but I think I'll be back to CM7ZMOD in a while
Also check out for Achotjan's Semc Debrand Engine CM9, I know it'll be great
Yea dude I really should check out. Thing is I don't hav regular laptop access and use frm mob. Also there r soo many roms that kinda confuse and.so.many kernels. So wished to hear from people what the prefer ... I.currently am.planning to unlock my bootloader and then flash cm9.1 . I dunno abt fera kernel and all ...thanx anyways.

I support this, ICS is stable for daily use but not as responsive as the best GB roms so far.
what's holding back our device is that ancient 2.6.29 kernel, ICS relies on hardware acceleration for a lot of things and we simply can't have it working at it's fullest unless someone manages to get a newer version. I know fera is trying with the .32 one, fingers crossed.
