I seem to only get about 200kb/s via wifi on internal networks -- other people seeing the same thing?
mine is working good here...10mb per second...
mine is fast 14.6 download 4 up
14 down consistently which is better than some of my laptops get
Mine is super fast compare to both my modded n1 and g2. Usually the phones do 4 gbps down and 1.something, the xoom doubles
The speed: 9 down and 4 up.

i always find that when speeds let down or connectivity problem arise then reset. I reset modem, router, and laptop and then all is good in the world.
Yeah, my xoom's wifi is dropping its connections to my wireless router. I will reset everything on my home network. But I still think something is wrong. I will also try a tether from my galaxy s 4g to see if I get the same loss of connection. I will respond in the next day or two on what happens.

Yeah my xoom will only load half of sites, no matter how long I wait. Wont load facebook or engadget at all. Xda works fine though.

Well, I said I would respond in the next day or two. Well, I've downloaded speedyest.net app from my tetherred phone while my wireless network was resetting. From tether: 2.60mb dl .60mb ul. From wireless network: 17.9mb dl and 2.9mb ul. No connection drops now. Things seem to be fine since resetting network and leaving it off for 10+ minutes.
Mine is working fine...way better than with 3g. Not sure about the signal of verizon in my area, my galaxy tab from tmo is faster.
I got 20M down and 1M up on my wi-fi. My Droid X can barely get 6M down and 1M up.
Not quite the same issue - my speed is fine - but I've noticed the Xoom gets 1-2 less bars of signal on WiFi in the same location than my iPhone or iPad.
It's also quite variable - depending on the orientation of the device, I watch the WiFi signal meter go up and down from 4 bars to 0, and even drop the connection. Meanwhile, my iPad is perfectly happy.
I have also noticed it's worse on 802.11n 5GHz vs 2.4GHz.
What else other than speed test.net app? Lol.
Here's a tip on how to increase your wifi performance. Not by much but it helps:
Use an aluminum foil sheet. Put the sheet behind the router and point it to where you usually use your device.
My ps3 read 92 percent, a 24 percent bump. The router is located in the living room where it has to travel through 2 walls to get to my room. My nexus and the xoom read 3 bars constantly vs 2 bars before.

So far no. Full bar for me. Weird..
This is why I hate when new devices get released.
Using the phone outside my 2 story townhouse(router upstairs) with 3bars. Vibrant and hd2 was either 0-1 bars.
Yes, I'm finding it really weak as well, in fact it just dropped back to 3G as I typed this.
I noticed it shows as weak, yea....
Mine seems to have a weaker signal strength on my top floor compared with my desire. Also when running speed tests it struggles to hit 3Mbps downstream on a 38Mbps BT infinity line.

Stronger signal for me .
jje
definitely a weaker signal for me compared to my desire.
i'm getting 2 bars out of 4 despite being in the very next room to my router. it's 4 bars on my desire.
:-(
Might I suggest that the difference may be in the amount of interference your Wifi is experiencing? Try switching to a different "channel" on the router or even from 2.4 to 5GHz band (not sure if the phone supports this but worth a shot). I used to have a problem with this when i first got my SGS1 and when i swapped my wifi router to a new channel the problem disappeared.
Good luck
huh, to me the signal is the same if not better than the hd2.
the same here european version! 5 meters away it shows 1 bar only.
I'm currently 20m away from my router and behind a couple of walls and I get 2/4 bars on the Wifi and on the Speedtest app I get
Ping: 25ms
Download: 5946kbps
Upload: 3882kbps
In my opinion that qualifies as decent signal strength and quite a bit better than what I got with my N1.
edit:
And just to clarify, if I'm in the same room as the router I get full bars on Wifi.
I'm having no problems with WiFi. I get full signal in my living room (the same room as the router), and in my kitchen (which is about 10m away and has 2 stud partition walls and one masonry wall between it and my living room) I get 2 bars. So its as good as I'd expect, however I haven't tried checking my connection just outside my flat, but I live in an old school house with 2ft external walls, so I'm guessing I wont get much of a signal.
My laptops' WiFi behaves the very same. If your WiFi is worse than your previous phone....something wrong!
Wifi is fine on mine. I'm 2 floors away from the router and can get a two bar signal no problem.
Low also although it seems to perform ok.

for me
2.4ghz band is stronger than my sgs 1
and 5ghz band is weaker than my sgs 2
I noticed on my s1, froyo showed more strength bars than when I installed gingerbread. Maybe it is just a display problem caused by gingerbread?
Wifi signal is more stable than in sgs1 or my HTC desire.

I get slightly higher signal strength with the SGS2 than I do with my Nexus One (dBm as viewed in Wifi Analyzer).
However, I do have definite throughput issues -- can't get over 2mbps downstream on my SGS2 vs 6-8mbps downstream on my Nexus One at home. However, on my work network it's a different matter - the SGS2 is slightly faster than the N1. To me this suggests that either there is a compatibility issue between the SGS2 and certain APs, or the SGS2 is more prone to interference than the N1...
Hi, you could try wifi analyzer app, it will show you the strongest signal on channels.
Just got my N7 2013 today, and it dawned on me that there seems to be a huge WiFi issue in 4.3. I have a 20 Mbps connection at home, an ASUS RT-N66u router, and my N4 and both N7s are constantly testing at around 2 - 6 Mbps. I used to be able to get the full 20 Mbps.
I tried doing a factory reset on the router, rebooted the modem, changed channels, changed frequencies, switched back to an older ASUS RT-N16 router and nothing seems to work.
Anyone else experiencing similar problems? It's incredibly frustrating.

I think my router is struggling with the competition between the 3 Android devices. I somehow got it so that the N7 2013 on the 5 GHz channel can get a full 20 and the N4 on the 2.4 GHz channel can only get 15 but that's also with the other N7 tablet off. I have no idea what's going on... *confused*

I've got an ASUS RT-N56u and had some wifi issues with the N7. I was initially getting only around 4-5 mbps when I normally get around 20 mbps. So I toggled wifi on and off and it jumped back up to 20 mbps. I checked again after a few hours and it was down to 4 mbps again until I toggled wifi again.
So I tried setting the wifi frequency band in the N7 advanced wifi settings to 2.4 ghz instead of Auto and haven't had any problems since.
I'm noticing a huge difference with web browsing compared to the original Nexus 7.
What I do notice on both 1st and 2nd gen unit is if I'm using my blue tooth ear piece (jawbone era), it sometimes slows down my browsing and especially stream like Youtube. If I turn off the blue tooth ear piece, things are back to normal. It doesn't happen all the time with the 2nd gen but 90% of the time on the 1st gen.
4.3 WiFi speed seems vastly improved from what I've seen on N7 2013 at a Staples as well as on my N4. (Though the Staples floor model was riding on 5 GHz band)
Im Having the same issue. Nexus 7 slow Wifi

So I got my new Nexus 7, and Im having the exact same issue. Any device I have can pull 20-30mbps on speedtest from my home internet, but my New Nexus 7 only gets like 4-5mbps. Its still stock and unrooted.
Normally it wouldn't be a big issue. But streaming HD video at that rate will be choppy, and on this nice screen i want to see the clarity.
I can do a test from my Nexus 7, get 5mbps, right after do one from my GS4 and get 22. Is it the radio?

Ok I just tried that as well and went into advanced. Set it to 2.4ghz only instead of Auto. It got slightly better.
Then I turned it to Keep wifi on during sleep only when plugged in, and unchecked let Google always scan for networks.
My speed just got up to the high teens, 14-17mbps. Still my other devices are getting 20+, but this is a huge improvement from the 4-5mbps I was getting moments ago. hope this might work for others as well :victory:
I have both the 2012 and 2013 Nexus 7 and I can say that the 2013 model performs significantly better with my router (RT-AC66U). The 2013 model peaks at 150 Mbps (theoretical) and I've pulled 100 Mbps down on it in SpeedTest. The OG Nexus 7 maxes out at 65 Mbps. The range seems similar between the two.
I'm having the same issue with mine as well.
I just got my new 2013 Nexus 7 today as well, and have the same slow wifi issue. All my other devices connect and get around 20Mbps, but when I try my brand new nexus7, only get around 4-5? I tried toggling all the above options, but no dice, still same slow speed!
Anyone have any ideas? Is this related to the 4.3 update? Or is it a hardware issue?

I have the same router but with the R at the end since I bought it from Best Buy. Anyway, what firmware version are you using on yours? Also, did you have the auto-channel enabled for 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands?
I'm on a 60Mbps connection and getting about 20 through 3 or 4 walls. about 50 to 60 next to the router.
Just got the Nexus 7 (2013) today, running 4.3.
I am having a different issue. My setup is as follows:
- RT-N66U as main router: device IP:192.168.1.1; DHCP: on; IP starting: 192.168.1.3
- EA-N66 as an AP: device IP: 192.168.1.2; AP mode; Default gateway: 192.168.1.1; Static DNS: same as N66U
Both devices transmit over 5 GHz, same SSIDs, same password. All my devices hop between the router and the AP when I am moving between rooms, based on the signal strength.
The Nexus 7 however, only sees the AP. When running Wifi Analyzer on my galaxy Nexus, I see both MAC ids for the two devices. The Nexus 7 only sees and connects to the AP.
Any idea what could be causing this? It has to be something with 4.2.3 :silly:
I noticed it to when tethering the N7 to my Nexus 4 on LTE. Exchanged it due to excessive screen bleed but haven't opened the new one to check WiFi speeds since I'm not sure I want to keep it at all (will just sell it or gift it).

I see now what the problem is. My Nexus 7 v2 doesn't see 5 GHz networks that are transmitting above ch 48. Since I had my router on ch 161 and AP on ch 36, the Nexus 7 would only see my AP.
Any solutions?

Hi,
I just got my Oneplus 2 yesterday. But I noticed a strange issue.
I live in a hostel where login based public wifi is provided. I have a samsung S3 which connects to the wifi even at peak hours of traffic and gives full speed at all times. But when I connect to the same wifi through my oneplus2, it barely gives any speed, even googling is not possible.
Both the devices are able to connect to the wifi with atleast 3 out of 5 bars. I don't understand why when S3 gives proper speed, at the same time oneplus2's wifi fail to perform which is relatively new. Oneplus2's wifi should atleast perform similar to S3, if not better.
BTW I am using Cyanogenmod 10.2 in S3. I've not rooted or done any configuration changes on Oneplus2 yet.
Please suggest if there is anything that I can do to improve the wifi performance on Oneplus2.
Thanks in advance!!
I'm having a somewhat similar issue. I just got my oneplus 2 today and I connected it up to a friend's beamforming router running on 5ghz ac. While an LG g3, Samsung Galaxy Note 4, Samsung Galaxy s4, Motorola nexus 6 all had a connectivity speed of 400-550Mbps, the oneplus 2 on the same network could only achieve a connectivity speed of 96Mbps. I'm not quite sure what is limiting it's connection. Has anyone experienced something similar?
Just got mine today and same issue. If I check as soon as it connects before IP assignment, it registers 433Mbps but as soon as IP assignment happens and traffic starts up on wifi it drops to 96Mbps. Even worse, it only achieves 10Mbps throughput while my OPO gets easily over 100Mbps throughput. Any ideas? Still stock.
I've seen the same thing here, 10mbps on speedtest with 5 GHZ wifi. Interesting thing is if I switch to 2.4GHz I can eek out 80ish, my OPO on CM 12.1 can easily max out my 150mbit connection, considering compiling CM for the OP2 and testing throughput with that to see if it's an oxygen bug (I think it is).
Same problem here. Connected to the same wifi network with my OPO, OP2, and S6 edge. Connection speed to router was 135 mbps, 86 mbps, and 400 mbps respectively. Speed test results for download were 115 mbps ,32 mbps, 172 mbps respectively. OP2 speeds are just lousy and there are no settings I can see to remove wifi optimization that usually causes issues. Tested using the same app, to the same server, all in the same room and distance from the router. I hope this isn't a result of skimping on the hardware and is software related.
I was having a similar problem on my wifi while downloading apps on my new OP2. Changed the wifi setting from DHCP to Static on my phone and im getting full speeds now. Give it a try
i dont having much knowladge of wifi connection but reception of wifi is poor on one plus two . same wifi connection is also connected with
galaxy s4 , yu yureka ,and even samsung galaxy ace dous 1st gen device have better reception than this.. if i cover place near 3.5mm jack wifi bars drops
i dont know what is going on... phone is heating even if i play clash of clan. battery capacity is enough but i dont know why battery backup is so poor.
i was happy when i ordered this phone and wait for invite for 2months now my all hapines turns into sadness after observing these types of things...
now i m thinking that i return back this phone to amazon and clam my full payment.
IĀ“ve experienced something similair, just the other way around: as soon as the OPT gets connected to my WiFi, all other devicesĀ“ connection slows down.
My one plus one is fine on 5ghz band and same with nvidia shield tab and nexus 7 but op2 sucks ass at 3mbps but as soon as I switch to 2.4ghz I can get 20mbps with lower latency

I've seen slower Wifi performance and more connectivity problems with the latest OOs version. I never saw this with previous versions of the Oxygen OS.
I can live with it for now, but I'm hoping it gets fixed in the next update.
I had the same Issue.
Clean flashing the Rom, and then flashing the kernel again made it better for me, but still not good.
In the end, giving my phone priority in the Router/modem fixed the Issue completely for me.
If u have access to your Routers interface you should try that

Hi guys
So I've had the 6p for about 2 weeks now. Great phone but was never really happy with the battery life. I was always getting between 3 - 4hoirs sot but I'd seen people getting 6-7.
Well after tinkering about I think I've found a solution.... Or maybe it's just for me.
I went I to WiFi serti gs and then advanced and then changed the network to only 5ghz, once I'd done this I set my home network up on a 5ghz spectrum and connected to that for the WiFi......all of a sudden I'm getting 6.5 hours SOT.
Not sure if this will work for everyone or if many people will even have the facility to set up a 5gjz home network but if you do give it a try and see if helps.
most ppl will get better battery life on 2.4ghz only

I tried that and it had no effect at all. Swapped it over to 5ghz and the difference was substantial
I've tried both options and saw no difference. For me the problem is that at home and gf house we use 5ghz. Work and everywhere else use 2.4. So after experimenting forcing either or for a few days I went back to auto. So no difference between any of them.
Yea, if you have a larger home then 5ghz sucks.

Nah...even with my Asus RT-AC87U setup in the middle of my house, 5ghz band signal degrades in the corners of the home where the bedrooms are to the point that 2.4 speeds far surpass it. It's not even that large of a house...3300 sq ft.

That's why you get multiple access points. 5GHz is a much better band to be on if you have a quality signal.
