Hi,
I searched the forums but could not find an answer for my problem.
I have used two MicroSD cards in my Huawei U8800 so far.
One is a Lexar 8gb Class 4 that works normally and the other is a Transcend 16gb Class 4 that is very very slow.
When using the 16gb card in my PC's card reader it doesn't seem so slow, but it is still slower than the 8gb card.
Does anyone have experience with Transcend 16gb cards? Do you think this is a card problem or a limitation of the U8800's SD interface?
Thanks in advance

Compare with AnTuTu and then see the speed of the transfer of the microSDs with a pc. If the Transcend 16gb card is slowly in both cases, the problem isn't of the U8800
Thanks Daniele11, I will try that, but the last time I tried to run a benchmark with AnTuTu and the 16gb card it just seemed to have died...
But I'll try it anyway... :fingers-crossed:
class10
Even my 8 GB class 10 card sucks at file transferring and I don't know why

What speed is the 2GB stock MicroSD card the HD2 ships with? (Just to know)
IS Class 2 fast enough? I have a 16GB class two that I'd like to use, but not at the expense of performance on the phone, or problems, etc.
Anyone?
Class II is enough for a phone. Dunno the speed of the inserted one - guess it is class II. I'm using a class II 16GB mSDHC from Toshiba since more than a year and I never faced any problems.
Here I have done two micro SD benchmark using sandisk microSD reader:
SanDisk microSDHC 2GB Classe 2
SanDisk Mobile Ultra microSDHC 8GB Classe 4
The Ultra version has twice the speed of the stock one.
Yeah, that may be right and it could be faster when you copy some files to your phone or pull it down of it. But nevertheless the phone does not need more then class II, because it won't be able to exhaust it.
Even when recording video?
I think I'v a problem with my new Patriot 8gb sd hc class 4 card.
The build "MCCM SE V3.4(FroyoStone Sense)[kernel hastarin r8.5]" runs freezing for a second my hd2 lot of times (every 5 or 10 seconds) and every application... I've came back to a Sandisk 4gb sd hc class 2 and all runs ok without freezing... I've tried another build and the same result, 8gb sd hc class 4 card don't work well.
Could be the card, but I've tried it in a PC and it runs so well (tests, etc.)
Anyone here has experienced the same with Android running in Micro Sd 8g HC Class 4 cards like mine?
Thnx! Cheers!
I use a Sandisk 8gb Class4 card and it runs without problem at all. Have tried different Android versions, and never any problem with the card

Hi,
I have class 4 SD card m running Pda's win7.8 rom. the problem I m facing is its lagging and slow then I did a benchmark test using free benchmark app everything is perfect except the write speed which is just 2.1 something, I know it may be a problem of SD card though wanted to know is there any tweak to speed it up through registry or app like andoirds have?
thankyou
no... buy better card...

can you guide me which type of card should i buy?
thankyou..
someone write this list but also many others cards is fine
Kingston 4GB Class 4
Kingston 8GB Class 4
Kingston 32GB Class 4
Microcenter 16GB Class 2
SanDisk 8 GB Class 2
SanDisk 16 GB Class 2
SanDisk 16 GB Class 6
SanDisk 32 GB Class 2
i have SanDisk 32 GB Class 2 and speed is around 8 mb/s
Slower card makes
you wait longer,
gets your cpu hotter,
your battery drain faster,
lags the phone,
slow responses of your phone,
Go buy yourself a class10 SD card!
Believe me, if i knew the diffrence, i would buy it 3 years ago...
Thank-you dxdy and stealth21
will buy new SD and report back

Sandisk doing better than Samsung in SD, for higher performance, i use Sandisk UHS-I 8GB SD.
I used both NativeSD and DataonExt. My Scandisk Ultra 16G work fine.
Sandisk 10 class with UHS - hd2 incompatible
I tested 2 microsd cards(I bought in one place at once) with 2 different hd2.
first card worked with bouh hd2, but only 1-2 days => after freeze.
second card freezed at boot always, on both phones.
MD5 checksum was identical for both cards.
Both cards work very quickly with other devices without glitches.
Now i use 4.2.2 with transcend 10 class without UHS. HD2 is fast now, more than ever... A1 SD Bench: 18.9mb/s read, 10.5mb/s write.

I would strongly suggest checking out this thread.http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1947560
My SanDisk 32gb class 6 card reads about 10mbs higher than yours. My suspicion is that it's your buffer size that needs to be adjusted, but that thread is one of the best resources for optimizing you're card.

Do you test speed by "SD Tools" ? In this programm my transcend show 33mb/s, but it's cached speed, i saw same speed on 2 class card.
I agree what sandisk very fast. But cards with UHS not worked with my both hd2(512mb EU and RU versions )
SDTools seems to be the XDA standard from most when testing you're SD card. I find it very accurate and reliable.

Hi All,
I was wondering if I'm doing something wrong or if it's just to be expected. I have an S7 edge that I'm attempting to move apps to the SD card and they are just painfully slow, if they transfer at all. I'm using a Samsung Evo 128gb class 10 micro sd card. I've also tried a SanDisk 128gb Ultra class 10 card and it was really really slow. Is there some trick to speed this up? Am I using too beefy of a card? Any help is greatly appreciated!!
move the apps always has been slow even in class 10 sd cards, or at least thats what I remember.... but every other thing is just right

The speed of the external microsd card fully depends on the quality and the specs of the microsd card
itself. That's why some microsd cards are slow or super slow.
I have two 128GB microsd cards, one of them is Sandisk Extreme $80 model and it reads and writes
almost 5 times faster than my other off-brand $28 128GB microsdcard. Both microsd cards are class 10.
I am not talking about speed benchmarks, I am talking about real life transfer speeds under heavy usage..
I also have a 64GB off-brand $17 microsd card which is just as slow as my 128GB $28 off-brand microsd.
All 3 of my microsdcards were purchased at Amazon.com
Good luck,
Have a great day!
I have same problem here I have : https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B00V62XBQQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
And I go 13Mb/S Write and 60 MB/S Read
((((((
same here...
Just got my S7 and transferring speed from PC to external SD is extremely slow (I tried 64GB and 128GB sandisk class 10 which worked great on my last LG-G3...)
I also tried transferring from internal memory to external SD and it was still extremely slow..
Can it be HW problem (I can send it back for refund - but if it SW issue which can be fixed it would be a better)?
