A500 cannot mount, format, or wipe /data - Acer Iconia A500

Hello guys. After 48 hours of searching forums I couldn't not to find someone with my problem so here I go. My device is an Acer Iconia a500. I am using skrilax v6 unlocked bootloader and the A500 public recovery. I can install any ICS rom. After the acer screen and the rom specific animation appears, the animation runs for hours, going nowhere. Recovery will not let me mount, format or wipe /data. Power plus volume- gets me in recovery just fine. When I attempt to format or mount data in mounts and storage, all I get is "error mounting(or formatting) /data!" Mounting and formatting everything else seems to work just fine. I assume this is preventing my roms from booting. When i hold power plus volume+ I get a menu as follows:
Reboot
Fastboot Mode
Boot Recovery
Set Boot Secondary Kernel Image
Set Debug Mode Off
Wipe Cache
Using windows xp because windows 8 is still buggy, I've used fastboot to try other recoveries likes thor's newest touch recovery and I still get the same error. "error mounting(or formatting) /data!" I cannot use adb commands. I'm assuming /data is corrupt and preventing me from booting entirely. Please advise and I'll pay for your beer. Thank you!

In the android developement files for the iconia a500 search up either how to rollback from ics leak or how to fix a bricked acer a500 you are going to need your sbk and you will have to use nvflash... it will work eventually although you will have to reflash the bootloader

[Q] Asus Transformer stuck on cold-booting Linux

I'm attempting to restore a recovery in ClockworkMod, but as soon as it reboots, it loops back into CWM. I've done the factory reset, wiped data, wiped the cache, wiped the Dalvik cache, and attempted to install Revolver's ROM. I've even attempted to restore my Nandroid, but it always loops back into CWM. I've tried this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1530337
Unfortunately, the Transformer isn't recognized in ADB, so the command line is worthless. When I rebooted the tablet, pressed "volume up," therefore attempting to cold-boot into the OS, it sticks on "Cold-booting Linux," and has been for nearly 20 minutes. I can reboot and select "Wipe Data," but it reboots into the previous OS, which I'm attempting to dump.
I'd hate to think I've screwed something up, or maybe CWM is tanked. Also, I'm using roach's 5.5.0.4 of CWM.
I appreciate the help.
Also, my PC doesn't recognize my device while in CWM, so I can't move files, either.

Yeah, unfortunately I have a serial starting with the dreaded B70, which NVFlash says it doesn't support, so I just wonder what my next move is.
You should get Android Terminal Emulator, as mentioned here:

Then run the commandline.

[Q] Q Any way to help? ZTE Blade bricked

Hi all. Sorry fo my bad English - I'm russian.
Ok, I have a bricked ZTE Blade - GEN2, China 256Mb RAM.
I've read this topic modaco com/topic/343587-guide-de-bricking-a-zte-blade/
I have some problems, thats why I'm asking for some help.
1) I've used Method 5: The dodgy ZTE firmware flasher
At the point Flash Firmware - 6)When finished it should boot into FTM mode. - but it doesn't.
I've took out the battary, and rebooted my phone in the FTM-mode. Succesfully restored IMEI (got no errors).
And then:
Put clockworkmod in the recovery partition
Take out the battery and turn on the phone. Clockworkmod should load
There is no ClockWork! Only FTM...
Installed ClockWork via cmd script. It has loaded, but here is the next problem:
"You can now flash a ROM"
I've tried to flash Swedish_Spring_RLS5. So I mounted system and data.
Installation ok, but if i reboot i get clockwork.
Tried to flash image.bin from zte-website. If i reboot after the installation i get clockwork.
Tried to get stock recovery. Installed it via cmd script, but it doesn't load.
I get FTM-mode.
There is no phone-workshop in my city, and I have no more warranty for this smartphone, so i hope you can help me. Thanks.
At the beggining the problem was - the boot was down. The splash appeares, slides to right, the phone reboots.
Try reflashing clockworkmod and do a full wipe.
It might also help if you format system.

Ok, reinstalled cwm, have done all wipes, formatted system, data.
Tried to flash.
Nothing. Reboot => CWM
Does the rom flash process success?
Try flashing another rom.

yes
yes, it does. i get no errors, and
there are files in the system partiton.
when i make a backup i see all the files from the os.
have tried. cm7, cm9, other stock: 2.1, 2.3 - every gives the same result - only cwm is loading.
when i flash the stock recovery - then i get only ftm on load.
is my phone totally bricked? i hope there is a way to restore...
It's semi-bricked. You could try to flash stock rom with ftm and root it with z4root.

tried:
1) china tpt's
2) all wipes and formats
3) all mounts + flashing Swedish_Spring_RLS5
4) boot.img via adb
result: ANDROID Loaded, but the hardware keys are not working... UrbanDrawer, any ideas?
Just reflash rom and wipe data.
If the problem didn't get fixed, flash another rom.

Flashed a stock China ROM.
No success. Boot info FTM. No way to boot the system...

Before doing this, you could also hard reset the phone, that way there's not going to be any software-related problems.

what i do
Ok. What i do.
1) Launch ZTE Flasher, swich my phone into download mode (vol+/vol-/power)
2) Flash IT (China v880 Firmware)
3) When finished - release battery.
Turn on and get FTM-mode, no clockword or smth. else. Only FTM.
4) TPT's : China v880 GEN2 TPT's.
When finished - the phone doe's not reboot. Need to release the battery, and to power on.
5) Oh my God! Yellow CWM!!!
I mount data,system.
All wipes.
Format all, except SD.
6) Flashing ROM.
7) Reboot.
After the reboot I get CWM (on stock rom's) or FTM (after CM).
What am I doing wrong?
Try method 1.

[Q] A500 hangs at booting primary kernel image

My Acer Iconia A500 was frozen, I turned it off by holding the power button, since then, I can not reboot the tab, it hangs at booting primary kernel image.
I have Skrilax_CZ V8 bootloader, CWM recovery 1.7.3, and the Flex-Resurrection_Rev1-Aroma-Public Rom.
-----------------------
I searched here, tried the methods by Moscow Desire
"Boot to recovery, and this time, do all your wipes
Wipes Menu
a. wipe Data/factory reset
b. wipe cache
c. wipe Dalvik
Go to Mounts and storage
a. Format system
b. Format Flexrom
Install rom, and make sure it's a rom with an ICS kernel.
As a last chance if the above normal things don;t work,
you may have corrupted data somewhere, and in this case, go to Backup and Restore and toggle Data Media."
------------------------
And tried method by Skrilax_CZ
"You can also wipe userdata from fastboot: "fastboot erase userdata".
-----------------------
I did it several times, after installed the Flex Rom, ( I also tried the Lightspeed_4.8,) it still stuck on the booting primary kernel image, What should be my next step?
I saw somewhere Dibb_nz mentioned that re-flash the BL, recovery.img, not sure if I should try. I do have the CPUID and SBK numbers.
Thanks for your help, anyone out there.
I'm having the exact same problem. I tried what you did, and it still didn't work. This is my first time flashing, so I'm not sure what to try next. I do have one idea - I thought the ROM did have a kernal, so I didn't flash one. I'm going to search for one and try that.
I switched to Skrilax's V9 bootloader thinking that might help but it didn't. When I do a recovery with the back up of my normal rom I made before flashing then and only then can I get past the bootloader. The backup says there's an error when recovering my data though, so I'm going to have to start over from fresh either way.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've been at this for over 7 hours now.

[Q] flexrom - SOLVED-

I've been successfully using the new 4.3 ROM on my a500. After flashing the latest, it worked beautifully until I shut it down. Upon rebooting, it stays in a boot loop. I am able to get into TWRP 2.4.4, but cannot restore my backup or flash any ROM.
It looks like I accidentally deleted the flexrom folder from the tablet. I have not previously been successful flashing via USB. How can I recover my tablet?
Any ideas would be appreciated.

seems a bit strange u cannot do anything from recovery...what happens when u do?
Do u still have Skrilax_CZ bootloader?
Think I'd reflash the v8 bootloader/recovery pkge and go from there

Managed to get apx working and flashed bootloader v9. Got to twrp 2.4.4 but could not flash a rom. Flashed an apx bundle with b/l v8 and Thors 1.7 cwm. Flashed a rom with aroma and it looked successful, but would not boot past the wifi screen. Says process failed.
The flexrom issue seems to be solved, but I had to repartition. Could that be it? Don't know what the proper partition sizes should be.

[Q] Cannot mount anything in TWRP, sdcard folder empty

Hi All
I am in the process of flashing Cyanogenmod 11 onto my TF300T however I am in a world of hurt. First I updated to the latest TWRP (2.6.3 -4.2). When i boot up into TWRP it is asking me for a password which I do not know. If I press Cancel i cannot see any contents of /sdcard. Also if I insert a microSD card, again cannot see any contents. TWRP is telling me there is no operating system installed and if i reboot it just comes straight back into TWRP.
I apologise if this question has already been asked but I just cant figure this one out.
What bootloader version do you have? What helped me was to reboot into the boot loader (using volume down+power, has three options RCK, cold-boot linux, Wipe data [dont ever ever ever wipe data]) and select cold-boot linux (the android guy in the middle) and it would boot back into my ROM. If you cant get in that way, you are going to have to use ADB on your computer and use the "adb reboot-fastboot" command. If you get in, back up your files, because you're at the event horizon of losing all your data. If your bootloader is 10.6.1.8 youre going to need to flash the latest asus stock firmware from their website.

I am using bootloader 10.6.1.3. When I cold boot linux it just continually boots up into TWRP.
Whenever I try to run an ADB command i get "error: device not found". I have installed the android SDK, tried to install the USB drivers but no luck (possible windows 8 issue?).
It doesnt matter if I lose all data on it, i dont keep anything really important on it.
I have rolled back to 2.5.0 TWRP and it still asks me for a password.
I've switched over to my Mac now and have been able to push the CM-11 ROM into the sdcard directory. However when I attempt to flash it, it fails immediately with the log saying.
E:Unable to mount '/system'
E:Unable to mount '/cache'

Ok this morning I have tried the following:
1. Flashed Scanno's TWRP from the OMNI thread using this command:
> fastboot -i 0x0B05 flash recovery recovery.img
2. Booted up into TWRP, again /sdcard is empty.
3. Pushed the OMNI ROM onto /sdcard using:
> adb push omni-4.4.2-20131218-tf300t-HOMEMADE.zip /sdcard/
4. Went to Install and selected the zip then it immediately fails saying:
Unable to mount '/system'
Am I missing something here? From above i see that i flash 'recovery'. Do I need to flash 'system' with fastboot?
no, but maybe your PITs are corrupt. do you still have an older nandroid backup you could try to restore first?
oh just read that twrp asks for password. is that still the case?
Sent from my GT-I9505 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Yep it's still asking me for a password.
What are PITs?
I'm not sure if I have a backup. When in TWRP if I go to restore it can't find any. It's like the whole tablet is wiped. Does this have something to do with not having the ability to mount anything?

HELP
So I just tried getting cm11 on my tf300t, i installed TWRP 2.5 and rooted my device, everything went well. I then did a factory reset and wiped cashe. I tried installing then cm11 zip file with no success. I get the message that it failed. And now im on a device with no ROM to boot into and no working ROM to flash on the device.
Since there is a SD card slot on the device, would it be possible to put another ROM on there and then flashing that?
Please help me!

in order to install CM11, you need a special TWRP modded for KK: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=48508679&postcount=7
You can copy a CM11 nightly and the TWRP onto a SD card and flash from there, or use fastboot.
