its included in custom roms, its not part of android as it is. for native screenshots, press and hold the power button and volume down, at the same time.
I have the custom rom. I know of the volume option but i was wondering if you could add it to the power menu. I could have sworn it was there previously.

Go to the thread that belongs to the custom rom you're using, and ask if it's supposed to have a screenshot entry in the Power menu.

I have done a lot of searching and found numerous ways to disable the double-Menu press from bypassing the slide screen.
What I want to know is...how can I disable the Menu button from waking up the phone in the first place?? Is it possible?
Thanks!

Yes but you must be rooted to do it.

I am rooted. I have seen that post and it only mentions the following:
EDIT 3: I have also modified the HtcLockScreen apk to disable the 'Menu' key for unlocking the screen

Please note that I am already running this "fix". It does solve the menu button unlocking the screen BUT it does NOT prevent the screen from coming on when the menu button is pressed, which is what I am looking for.
As stated, i have just installed leedroid's 4.0 ROM and somehow when i long press the top left hard key, the power boot option wont come out. (The key is still usable as i can lock and unlock the screen). This shouldnt be one of the bugs of the new ROM right? Anyone can help me with this problem?
PS: i cant post in the development sections so i thought i could seek some help here
Try "use secure credentials" from menu ---> settings ---> privacy
This fixes this issue on ARHD 6.1.0

Almost right. Try menu ---> settings ---> security. You'll find an option in there called 'Use secure credentials'. Tick the box and input a password of your choosing. You should then have access to the power menu.
Note that your ROM may support screenshots, where the holding the power button and tapping home takes a screenshot. If it does, then you'll need to hold down the power button for longer for the menu to appear. (Basically, the phone is waiting to see if you're going to press the home button before it initiates the power menu.)
Hope that helps

Hi everyone, I'm running the current version of the ARHD rom and I'm having the same problem as this. I attempted the solutions above but the power menu does not seem to come on. Any suggestions?

... It's exactly the same way with stock.
If you really don't know and you've never used screenshot on stock ROM, the button combo is home+power. Hold the home key (not long enough to bring up the recent apps window) and quickly press the power button.
Note that in CM7.2 this combo does not work, rather there is an option in the power menu (when you press and hold the power button to turn it off/reboot).
Next time, use Search or Google.

or use screenshot ultimate from the playstore if you just want an app that can take a screenshot either by touching an overlay button or shaking the phone

Hi All
I've just got a S5 today. Overall I like it a lot however the bloody button res-assignments is soooooooo annoying!
Is there any to re-map the button layout back to the older galaxy versions? I.E.
Press the left button and the menu will activate (I know if I hold it down it will work but I keep forgetting and it brings up the tasker)
Hold the home button to bring up the tasker.
Frustrating yours
Paul

Root it -> Install Xposed -> Install GravityBox
Thanks, I had thought about it but its a new fone and you know what Samsung are like... I'm leaving towards re-mapping the key.
/system/usr/keylayout/Generic.kl
Anyone know the key number for the left button (Is it 138), what would I need to change to make the default option a menu. I suppose thinking out loud I want to swap the commands over. I.e. I press the key once I get the menu, press and hold I get the tasker.
Thanks
P.
Just long press the left button and the options come up

Your best bet is to use gravity box, as suggested above. You can only change the recents function to menu via the file you mentioned. I believe the rest of the options you want are smali edits.

That is not working apparently. I'm getting double hard press home button. ?
I think it's related to csc.
But could not find anything related to it in CscFeature. Xml
Solved - there is an option to choose from this 2. See the screenshot.
Lol ?
