I just placed my Pre-Order for a Galaxy Note II GT-N7100 at MobileCityOnline for the same price I paid for my GT-N7000 - $699! I searched everywhere I could try and pre-order it from and only MobileCity seems to be the only vendor accepting pre-orders.
MobileCity was one of the lower priced vendors for the GT-N7000 plus they shipped it super fast. I didn't have to pay taxes or shipping either. And these guys are really cool, they know about their $hit, and have amazing customer service. You might want to check 'em out.
If anyone has found ANYWHERE else that is accepting pre-orders could you please share your information. If I could get away with paying less cash I would since I'll now have to buy the necessary accessories all over again.
My wife is going to shoot me! I guess I'll have to keep this a secret from her...

Should put in the thread title that it's the AT&T version and not the international version. The listing isn't particularly deceptive, but when I (and I assume most xda members) see "unlocked GS3" the first thought is I9300. Frankly an I747 isn't much of a deal at $500.

I'm curious what people in other parts of the country are actually paying for their off-contract Sprint S4. Specifically from sites like Craigslist and eBay. Was it new or used? Any extra goodies included? What state? What was the final price? Date of purchase? Any other relevant details?

What part of the US are you guys from? $450 seems like a great price! In Portland all of the bnib S4's are still asking $550 and not willing to budge more than $20 or so.
I pulled the trigger on a used one today for the wife. The guy said it was a week old but didn't have a receipt... Regardless it was in flawless shape. It came with all of the original accessories and packaging as well as a flip cover and a 32GB SD card. He was asking $450 and we settled at $400.

I would suggest waiting a couple of months till prices settle a little.
And if you still think price remains abusive, set you eyes on a Note 2 which is going to be 30/40% cheaper in comparison and it's a GREAT phone ( I have it)

Yes its just not a phone, it is a phablet. But anyways my justification is that I just sold my HTC One and will be selling my S4 for a combined total of 750. So I'm basically trading two phones for one. Also I saw that m4sta2k was going to buy it for $1000!! which makes my purchase alittle bit better. ha.

I dont know about the Note 2 being way cheaper. I remember paying full price last year ($650) and its currently $704 on AT&T's site. I guess its success caused a price increase. I can see it going down a little but not much. I would love to get the Note 3 but I really love my Note 2. Hoping to get the 4.3 update and some other goodies in the update before the end of the year or I just may get the Note 3.

Well, I can only talk about how things go over here ( Holland ) and about sim lock free phones ( no plan/contract)
The Note2 is already around 100 euros cheaper ( 132$) than one year ago costing around 560$ at my favorite webshop
It will get even cheaper after Note3's sales warm up
Anyway I will be visiting NY next month and gonna check some gagdets prices in places such as B&H ...

Cheapest UK price I've seen is from Handtec, where I got my Note 2 from when that was released. It's currently 586 then a fiver postage, I'm literally on the site now about to place the order, but reluctant to until I know which variant is gonna see the most community activity, 3G or LTE.
As the the ones listed on, Expansys, Handtec, Clove etc are all LTE, looks like my decision had been made for me but would still love to know what version is gonna sell more.

You're not beating the price. He meant with tax included. It's $699.99 and you don't have to pay for the SIM with Verizon. Neither phone is unlocked.

That's a rip off to pay that much and your device and not be unlocked.
True you could probably hack around and unlock lock it, but it's the principle.
It does not pay to be first when it comes to electronics.
I feel it's not viable because of the high price.. in India is quoted at Rs.49990 nearly 800 USD .UNLOCKED... way too expensive... think Samsung has got the pricing absolutely wrong this time... 40k should have made me think off an upgrade.....

It depends on whether it has features which one really needs and which cannot be found on NoteII. Maybe you look at it from that angle.
Just wait till its available (25Th September on wards), 49900/- is the MRP should be available or around 47.5k give it lill more time till October end and u should be able ti buy it for 42/43k, most of the online store are selling sony Z1 for 43k where as its available for 40700/- locally.
Personally I won't be updating this time around. The only features which really grabbed me are the new note taking ones but I don't even use my note 2 for that. I have a note 8.0 which is much better for the purpose. Phone calls, texting and email work just fine on the note 2 and battery life is great so no reason to upgrade until note 4.

I was going to but my dad just got an s4 and I've been setting it up for him. And honestly most of the new features are pointless and possible battery hogs.
Granted there's 1 or 2 i would like. But unless I can get it for say 50 quid plus my phone? I don't see the point.

That's just the launch date price and in store price. I buy my phones off of Amazon.es, since I'm here in Spain. They go down in price really quickly. The note 2 was 700 euros when it launched last year, in October (mid october) I bought it online for 540. Which is 160 euros off the list price in stores. 8 months later in store it was still 700 euros.
I think stores have to get more competitive or else they will lose more clients. I can't beat lower prices, free 2-3 day shipping and being able to buy stuff from home. I still go out and buy stuff, but really expensive stuff is a lot cheaper online. I found my current house thanks to a listing online! haha.
Back to the topic: I am thinking of the Note 3 as an update to my Note 2, but not this month or maybe even next. November? December? January? I love my Note 2. But I am also eyeing the Sony Xperia Z1 as well was waiting for the Nexus 5. After we get some proper reviews I'll think about it. But I honestly think that 550 is a good deal for the Note 3. I refuse to pay more than 550 for any mobile phone (unlocked of course). So just wait a few days or weeks or maybe even a month and you'll see the price drop quickly, especially online due to competition with other online retailers.
So... Are you going to buy it ?

Just wait for the JB 4.3 update for your Note 2....then you will have a note 3...except for the tacky plastic simulated leather case. Admittedly, it may not run as fast as the Note 3....but it will do everything the note 3 can do....why waste your money if you have a N2?:fingers-crossed:

Think it's good idea to wait for 4.3 then decide.. till then the process of Note 3n would have also cooled down... but samsung is delaying the software upgrades for all phones..it's very bad....

yeah i prefer the looks of the note 2 more than the note 3.. i just want the update for my note 2 and hopefully some features from the note 3..
and then of topic the galaxy gear, do i need it? no.. do i want it? yes.. but both gear and note 3 prices were out today in finland so the note 3 will go for 750€ and the gear for 350€ and that is just too much for me , so will have to wait and hope the prices will drop fast
