CM 9.1 Info .Working camera soon - Galaxy Tab 10.1 General

" For non-NFC users, CyanogenMod 9.1 contains bug-fixes over the last release. It should also serve as an indicator that though new features aren’t being rolled in, support for the code branch and the addition of newly supported devices will continue. Look out for more devices to make their way to a stable release, including the LG myTouch Q, thep4 tablets with functioning camera’s and others as we work with the community to incorporate more device trees."
Hopefully sooner rather than later for our p4tablets . (with functioning camera)
I do know stock ics camera works .

Cyanogen mod 6.1 Work in Prog. (copied and pasted) lol

I apologize for not keeping the site up to date, I’m a slacker We also had a database issue and lost the last post about 6.0′s release, if you were wondering why it went missing.
6.1 is the current work-in-progress and is coming together nicely. There’s a few new features like touch-to-focus in the camcorder, dismiss notifications by swiping, kernel updates for most devices, and improved performance. There will also be support for a few new devices- Acer Liquid, HTC Wildfire and Samsung Vibrant. My eye is also on the new HTC phones that are about to get released like the G2.
A lot of people ask me about adding support for their phone, but we can only support phones that we actually own. The CM team is always looking for new hackers to join up with us to add support for their favorite device. Get in touch with me if you’d like to help.
CyanogenMod is open source. The quality of code being added to CM has vastly improved because of the code review system that we’ve put in place, Gerrit. It’s the same system used by Google to manage the Android Open Source Project. It allows anyone to submit code to the project in a highly-visible way and gives us a way to examine and improve it before it’s actually merged. We want your code, so send us your patches. If there’s something you don’t like, change it.
Nightly builds of CM are always available if you’re brave and want to try out the latest code. If you’re running nightly builds, the best way to stay up to date on new changes is to follow on Twitter.
Our user base is approaching a quarter of a million users. This project has come a long way Thanks for all the support, we are only as strong as the community!

Also, are you part of the CM team? Unless this is the case, you may want to give credit to Cyanogen for his work in your first post.

AOKP(Android Open Kang Project)

hi everyone,
As you see the topic its about AOKP team which they have a new version of ICS porting method. First they started moding the devices like Nexus-S and Galaxy nexus. After succeding they came up with other new devices and ported ICS base rom to other devices such as HTC, Xoom,Galaxy Tab.Today i talked to Roman the Dev guy from this team about our beloved TF.Unfortunately he said they wont port this rom to TF. I just started this thread to ask this team for porting this rom. I think if they see our requests they might put their efforts to make it work on our devices. Im currently using build 23 of this rom on my Nexus-s.it comes with lots og built in features.
here is the link for the website.Head over it might be interesting for you.

You said yourself they already said no. Respect their decision and leave them alone; if you don't like the decision you can port it yourself.
From their point of view, I can see why they said no. We will--eventually, one day--get an update from Asus themselves, which will satisfy 99% of users. The remaining 1% will get mods based on the Asus stock roms, just like they do now. There's also already a partially completed port underway by somebody else.
Why would they waste their resources on the TF101 when there are plenty of other devices that have no ICS port, and no chance of getting one from their manufacturer, which they could work on?
Actually, the correct guy to ask for a port is this guy @ProTekkFZS . He recently went on a spree porting aokp to many devices. Roman only port to devices that he is currently using which are gal nexus, nexus s and gal tab.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA App
if they dont want to port it got to respect that decision but if they would i would be sooooo happy a really great rom would use it
roman recieved a htc sensation from rootzwiki and he hasnt even ported it there yet so i wouldnt hold my breath dude... although it would be epic...

1, MIUI won't come to tablets until Xiaomi makes a tablet UI version
2, CM is nowhere yet for the TF
3, Currently AOKP provides more control and access to things than CM. It was stated Cyanogen by himself that CM9 will NOT contain the old CMParts style settings, but rather have them in their respective submenus. AOKP goes on the CM7 way, having a separate app what can switch controls on-off. I'm already using it on my phone (ZTE Blade), and it's currently more stable than CM or even an AOSP build.

1, Miui for tablets could become a reality without Xiaomi since they decided recently to change their code in Open source...so maybe one day
2, not yet, sure, even if CM has already talked about TF cm9 to come
3, here i think it really depends on the phone : with my Nexus S, aokp is pretty stable and smooth, but not as some other aosp (Pete Alfonso's) or CM (fitsnugly's kangs) for example.
Let's first get next Paul's builds, Asus's release then, and CM9 eventually.....at this point we all should be Fulfilled.

1. First of all, they haven't gone totally open source yet. And to include a tablet overlay, that would be a huge work. Not just graphics, but compatibility, screen issues, alignments, and such.
2. There will be a CM9 build, but only after CM9 is stable enough, and Asus released theirs so Bumble-Bee, RaYmAn, Roach, and the others can make a working one. So no CM9 for now
3. Yes it depends on that too, but show me any point of CM9 having more feature than AOKP. AOKP derives directly from CM9 sources, with the additional apps and features, plus fixes. So I consider it more mature.
Paul already published his sources for the TF, so we could easily grab his tree, change some stuff for AOKP, and make a build. I don't have quite the PC for such building processes, it would take days, and my electricity bill is already over the limit - so I can't do it definitely. But if there's someone else willing, everything can be made

1 & 2, i agree, that's sure.
3, aokp has indeed for now more features than cm9 and kept cm7 idea with nominated menu, which is more than rich of full customization possibilities. My point was in fact on the stability, efficiency and smoothness : there are, for nexus s at least, aosp roms and some cm9 builds which are better than aokp. So not in terms of "quantity" but of a certain idea of quality. Certain idea, because it is of course a question of point of view. That said, i love Roman's work.
I wish i could build on Paul's and Roman's sources for our beloved TF, but even if my electricity bill could eventuelly bear it (for a time), i have neither the pc, nor the knowledge to do so, which is worse .....here's just a very greatful and curious user....

Yeah seriously I don't know what's the mystery about it.. Already running cm10 on my gtab and gnexus I know they don't like people ask when their phone will get CMXX. but CM developers should try to communicate better with users... Open source, free work in this scale is not excuse for blindness

There will be long wait to have a fully working jellybean on the Note.
Mostly due to Samsung who delays Note updates for newbies critical bugs (ie brick bug) and also to sell the Note 2. Why users will buy Note 2 if they have a fully working ICS/Jellybean on the first one ?
Kernel/FW sources will be released in a long time.
Concerning CM10, hope they will not face issues like working camera etc.
As an example, CM9 & Aokp/Aosp are ready for months on galaxy tab but still missing functionnalities & working camera which make them useless. Cause of no sources available for devs.

Cm9 works with 4.0.4 way before samsung releases 4.0.4.. Drivers compatibility its for 4.X.X that's well known.. And cm team several weeks ago (since jb source droped into aosp) started the merge with ics and they said it was a piece of cake since the drivers from ics are the same... We don't need samsung sources to get JB.. Cm can deliver a jb rom with what they already have..
And in the case of gtab 10.1 we don't have working camera because our kernel developer Wich also is the cm9/10 maintainer for tab ported all the drivers from honey comb Wich were a slightly improvement over ginger bread drivers.. That's why we don't have a working camera yet.. But hey everything else works. Hwa/gps/sound/wifi/3G and cm10 its running on the tablet buttery smooth with the lack of camera.. And those are drivers from honey comb..
So tell me what's wrong with cm10 for note when they have every single driver for ics available... Makes no sense to me... Most of the popular phones/tabs cm supports in cm9 already have a cm10 preview
Difference here its that our cm developer I'm gtab is an angel.. What a nice guy he baby every single person that uses cm9 and or his kernels... He takes care of every single case one by one and he didn't move to merging jb until the last of us solved his personal issue...

You just did not understand what i've written.
I am hoping that CM teams won't face these issues like camera even if they should not be concerned.
I am certainly not speaking about their awesome work but about the fact that if issues raise with CM10...it can be hard to fix since Samsung are not going to release the eventual sources needed before months.
Nevertheless, i am running CM9 and I love it. But there are still missing stock functionnalities. It is for users to know if they can live without them or not. Some absolutely need S-suite...other the Mhl...and for me, working camera especially for skype is a must have. That is why I have to run that **** of samsung stock over my gtab 8.9.
I am angry towards Samsung...not towards the different developers teams who litterally save us.
As an example, they fix the emmc brick while Samsung did not do it yet and force most of Note users to remain at Gingerbread..which just innacceptable for the ones who's getting the most money between manufacturers.
I also have the Xperia S...comparing Gb/ICS to samsung stock is just day and night. At the end...comparing to any devices I had/have..Samsung provides the best innovations and hardware but the worst system.

Here's come the legend! RESPECT!
Seriously, we can't wait to test JB in Galaxy Note!
I'll wait for the Butter.
Yeah, we got lucky. Unlike GB audio blobs in ICS, ICS audio blobs worked with a backwards-compatibility wrapper in JB.
I don't think anyone was expecting it to work but it did. I would've started working on the Note tree last night, but I got home late and am away from home almost all day today. xplod will probably have a tree up before I get home, he cheats by being 6 hours ahead of me in timezones!
Due to certain limitations of our graphics blobs, the majority of "butter" will not be present.

Out of curiosity, would the limitations be fixable, given time? Or is it just not-fixable and our Notes would forever be dry and crusty, without any butter?

Fingerprint drivers for ICS/JB

Hi. There is some discussion in the forums on latest Nvidia drivers for our Atrixes, but I've heard almost nothing about Authentec drivers for ICS/JB.
In fact, except for a very brief test version (was it from Acerbix?) none of the CM9/10 roms currently available have support for the fingerprint reader.
Now that Authentec was bought by Apple, I wonder if there will be Android 4.x drivers at all for the sensor.
Regards, Marco.

Great question.
The cm9 and cm10 roms (as I understand) are ported from the defy. Not compiled from source. So there is no way to really play with the apps source to add the fingerprint scanner. I mean sure you could try and compile this app yourself with the patches from cm7, work out the kinks, and try them out with cm9/10. but i think it will prob cause a lot of bugs. theoretically speaking, because the kernel on this current cm9/cm10 generation of builds, its still the cm7 kernel (once again this could be all wrong), the fingerprint driver should still be intact there and loaded. So is just a thing of adding it on to the apps.
Now Authentec is under contract with motorola regardless who owns it. Depending the level of support included on that contract, motorola should still be getting drivers from them.
Plus, but this point, they should have those drivers in their hands already, so im not too much concerned by that. That's my guess tough.
We'll surely get it working as Motorola has promised ICS update. And they are not going to release a half baked ROM.

[Q] (I9500)Will samsung release the source code of exynos 5???

its been over 6 months, and shi*** samsung has never released any of exynos 5's source code.
when it will be finally released?
and when will properly CM roms be released? there are few CM/AOSP roms but they all full of bugs, ditched and not updated, and not ready for daily use
thanks
?????????????????????
1) Ask Samsung. How would anyone here know ? Anything anyone here says is an uneducated guess at best. Samsung has always dragged the chain with regard to releasing sources, and this isn't going to change anytime soon. And they're only required to release the 'open source' stuff anyways, most of the proprietary stuff never gets released (so needs to be 'hacked'/reverse engineered) & probably never will be.
2) Re: CM, ask the CM team/ask in one of the CM threads ?
You must be new here.
