The Samsung Galaxy Note II is arguably the biggest star of the IFA 2012 and many were wondering if the second-gen phoneblet will actually be worth the hype. And what better way to see if the Note II delivers than to compare it to the Galaxy S III best-seller. We’ve also thrown in the original Galaxy Note to give you an idea of the kind of progress Samsung has achieved over the past year.
The Galaxy Note II has undergone a complete redesign, and now looks like a proper bigger brother of the Galaxy S III. But is the bigger screen, the S Pen and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean be enough for the Galaxy Note II to steal the show from the company’s current Android flagship?
It’s too early to give a definite answer, but the table below is certainly a good first step.

I wasn't going to get it, but if I was going to get it I wouldn't now. I had the SII and Note so I know they are decently built, the S3 was a disappointment in term of durability, both the screen and body. The Note 2 looks like just a larger version of the S3 with exact same design, I think one would have to be extremely careful using it and I won't be surprised to see similar quantity of complaints like with the S3. Sorry if I hurt any fanboys feeling, but having a higher expectation from profiting corporations isn't necessarily a bad thing.
With that said I like the fact it is slimmer despite a longer screen, unfortunately with lower resolution as a result, but the Note was too wide. The bigger battery is always a welcome, this thing is going to last for 2 days at least.
I remembered paying $850 when the Note fist came out, I'm sure the Note2 will be probably around the S3 price so that's another good thing.
Also its still too square with round corners, Apple will jump on that.
I feel like it's going to be like the S3 and end up with a dual core rather than a quad core for America even though it says 4G in the announcement.
hmmm,,
i willing to buy this phone,,
this phone head to head with coming iphone 5..

This may finally be the rumored exynos with late compatibility. It says everywhere its got the exynos, then the sentence after says it supports both 4g. I call that a confirmation!

I have, a S2 and a Note.. It seems like Note 2 it's a large S3 but my note has a biguer screen.. Quadracore and 4G? I heard that story on S3, before the launch but when it come out.. 4G version with snapdragon dual core only.
The Phone it is cute, but I'm not going to tarde my Note 1 for 2. Maybe when comes out the Note 3 six core.. With a nvidia on board graphic

I don't actually think that the note 2 screen is pentile. Samsung have changed the arrangement.
This does not look like pentile or rbg.

Samsung Galaxy S2 HD is a super-powered S2
By Luke Westaway on 26 September 2011, 5:11pm
Samsung will soon launch a new version of its brilliant Galaxy S2 Android phone. The Samsung Galaxy S2 HD will pack a 4.7-inch display and a 1.5GHz processor.
The bad news? At the moment, this souped-up smart phone is only coming to Samsung's native land of South Korea.
The S2 HD was announced alongside another new version of the S2 that has a 1.5GHz processor and 4.5-inch screen, with both phones packing LTE tech that makes them 4G-compatible.
We don't get 4G in the UK, just rubbish old 3G, so these particular versions won't be coming to our green and pleasant land. Normally, we don't report on phones that won't come to the UK, but we're making an exception in this case, because we reckon Samsung could well bring a 3G version of the S2 HD over here in the future.
We certainly wouldn't complain, because this monolithic mobile has a display with a resolution of 1,280x720 pixels, which makes it a high-definition mobile. That beats the iPhone 4's 960x640-pixel screen. With an 'HD Super AMOLED' display, we suspect the S2 HD will look blindingly good.
The S2 HD is 9.5mm thick, which is about a millimetre thicker than the Galaxy S2. It also packs a 1,850mAh battery, which is bigger than the S2's 1,650mAh offering.
In short then, the Galaxy S2 HD is like the Galaxy S2 but bigger and faster. We're not sure we can handle mobile telephony that potent this early in the week, but, Samsung, if you're reading, we desperately want to see this mobile hitting the UK.
The existing S2 is proving a fair old success meanwhile, having recently passed the 10 million sales milestone.
Do you want to see the Galaxy S2 HD breaking free and heading to the UK? Then say as much in the comments section below, or on our Facebook wall, and maybe Samsung will take notice.

As much as I like the specs of the souped up SG2 with 1.5ghz with HD display, the 4.7 inch screen is just too big for my tastes. Not sure about other people but the MAXIMUM I would take for a PHONE would probably be 4.5 inches.
Be nice to have it over here as well due to the HD screen but if i can be honest i rather wait for the S3 when that comes out...My phone is powerful enough as it is and if i want to push the cpu i can...So for someone who has not got the S2 this is good upgrade but for me i wait for the next big thing to be honest...
If only they could squeeze this resolution on a 4 - 4.3 inch display....
Apple did it, im sure samsung can do that aswell.
bye portability

HD 1280x720 resolution instead of normal 800x480
and features LGU+ along with standard LTE
LGU+ is a proprietary LTE by LG only in Korea http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LG_U+
chances are we'll never see this model in North America
Screen size sames as T-mobile/Sprint version 4.65" same CPU 1.5 Ghz probably Qualcomm instead of Exynos
I'm guessing the screen's pentile.

Yeah if it wasn't 4.7", it'd seem more luscious. For reals though, I love the baby too much to let go, even if I hear/read/see the sgs 3/nexus prime. (won't really know till it happens though. )

Record a concert with your phone? Yes, that was the primary goal of Samsung. Hey, there are ****loads of people who go to concerts not to enjoy the music, but to create low quality blurry pictures and videos waving their phones in the air. Damn you Samsung, you've failed.
Anyways, 4.7 is WAY to big for a phone. I'm not sure it can be called a phone anymore. I'd prefer 4" sharp personally. 4.3" is a bit too big for me.

So long, I barely knew thee. I was merely this weekend away of getting the photon q when CM10 was released official preview. Purchase plans have since been delayed
Re-posted (and updated) form a previous post:
Motorola Photon Q 4G LTE Comparison
Finally an upgrade path for Epic 4G users and/or Tactile fans. Everything else was a downgrade.
The Motorola Photon Q 4GLTE (MoPhoQ) appears to beat the Epic 4G, in all accounts, hands down, at least on paper.
The MoPhoQ has every option that the epic has except possibly touchwiz.
The Photon Q meets or exceeds all the specs & features of the Epic 4G.
Radio: Full world phone with 4GLTE & CDMA 800, CDMA 850, CDMA 1900, GSM 850, GSM 900, GSM 1800, GSM 1900, LTE 1900, WCDMA 850, WCDMA 1900, WCDMA 2100 vs. E4G- obsolete WiMAX 2500 with CDMA 850 & CDMA 1900
Battery Size: 1785 mAh vs. 1500 mAh
Display Type & Resolution: LCD 540 x 960 pixels vs. OLED (Full-Color) 480 x 800 pixels
Display Size: 4.3" vs. E4G- 4.0"
OS: Android ICS 4.04 vs. Android 2.36 unless rooted
OS updates: Highly likely for the Photon to recieve JB as it is newer and a half-brother to Android by marriage.
Memory, Internal Storage: 8 GB raw hardware, 4.6 MB available to user +1GB RAM vs. E4g- 1.5GB raw hardware 461 MB available to user
Camera: 8+ megapixel vs. E4G- 5+ megapixel
Video Capture: 1080p HD 30FPS back & 720P front vs. E4G- 720p HD 30FPS back
Also the MoPhoQ has TV output via HDMI port, 4G LTE, Hearing aid compatiblity, NFC, it's not samsung & it has 4G LTE.
The only down side is it weighs 15Grams more and is several thousanths on an inch larger, literally 0.070" larger.
Processor 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon vs. E4G- 1 GHz Cortex A8 Hummingbird
From what xboxfanj says the processor should be at least 4 times faster and be able to operate more efficiently.
Since the battery is bigger, the processor is more efficient that should balance out the extra drains caused by the newer OS and lack of touchwiz .
The published battery life information appears to indicate a +25% increase in battery life but that remains to be seen.
A short hands on showed and decently substantial feeling phone that appears very close to the E4G.
The only drawback is the extra 4.3" is basically taken up by the soft keys so the screen is the same size as the epics if you include the 4 capacitive buttons.
What are the drawbacks you guys are referring to?
Is the unlock-able boot loader the problem?
For keyboard phones, especially on sprint, this is the only thing to beat or even match the Epic 4G for size and specs so far.
Jestre

An unlockable bootloader is a deal killer in my book. But it is pretty, I will give Moto that much...
Boot loader is unlockable thanks to moto.

Only reasons I don't like it is,
Non removable battery
And
The battery is only 1750mAh. That's 350mAh smaller than the gs3.

yah, an non-removable battery is as much a deal killer as a locked bootloader, at least IMO
note: I did see several reports the bootloader was unloackable though
No Removable battery, Moto Locked Bootloader, Battery is 1750mAh I would like to upgrade that to a higher capacity like my epic has 1800 mAh. I mean come on Moto? It had potential but just took the **** route and the KB layout looks stupid and the side of it is too big kind of a like a bezzle on a monitor the epics KB looks nicer

Hey all
We have several threads dedicated to the specifications of the Samsung Galaxy S6. so I thought it best roll them all into one as we now have more detailed listings. These are still TBC, so they will be updated as we get more information in.
Interesting Samsung went with its "in-house" Exynos chipset and not a snapdragon 810, thoughts?

I think the battery will be ~3000mAh and while i don't want a 1440 screen its going to happen. Also i think it will be Bluetooth 4.1 and i think that the heart rate monitor will be gone in the S6.
I think it doesn't have dust and water resistant facilities.
Here's hoping for a sdcard slot, else it'll be a big change, no removable battery and no sdcard slot.

March 1st will be here soon enough and hopefully HTC can convince me enough to get off the sammy band wagon lol

Personally I don't care about Knox, the first thing I did when I got my Tab S was flash a custom recovery and root it. That's the joy of an unlocked bootloader.

Thats what im saying if knox is going to be activated on at&t i think im gonna have to pass on this device even though the specs are amazing. i love all the work the devs do, and being able to push the phone to the limit and without being able to root i cant see myself buying this.
p.s. unless att can garrentee us resonable update times.
I heard that we are going to be able to delete the bloatware, which is a plus, but I still want my SD card.

That looks way different from all those leaks so far (not iPhone 6 like rounded), and it's looking nice.
why not 5.5
I just don't understand, why 5' display needs 2k? To drain more battery and make it more laggy? 1080p would be the best choice...
Samsung Norway posted this now.

It's to feature a 16MP not 20MP camera unit on the production model. In fact it will have a tweaked version of the camera unit used in the Note 4.

Hmmm. If HTC M9 gets bad reviews I think I will get this phone instead. The bad thing is the rumors about the battery and SD slot. Also this phone will not have as great ROM support as a snapdragon phone :/

Tnx dude disappointed with no battery bump.
Still the same camera.. Screen looks pretty bad in comparison to that S7 next to it...
Man 1080P on a 6" screen is going to look terrible.
I had high hopes of a QHD display.

I'm sad they can't turn that 6.4" oppo r11s plus into a OnePlus 5T+. I'm not a fan of any of this year's 6" 18:9 ratio phones at all.

Then just hold off one more year. The 18:9 is just a fad like 3d phones. It will not last long.
