Does anyone know? My guess is MCR or Enom... but I can't be positive. Anyone?
Im waiting for the next release of cm, if it wont improve my battery life i am going to systematically try out all the other mods to see which one gives me the most juice.
Ive had my best battery from Kings Nexus rom. Its undervolted and has easily been the best battery one.

Thanks... I'll be using the AVS kernel, so I'm more concerned with ROM (not kernel) performance...
EDIT: Also - I can't use Desire because of Bluetooth.

For me its Alpha r20 - MoDaCo Custom ROM Desire Port this rom is great or me r21 was not as good for battery life i dont know why wish i did
From worst to best:
-CM
-Enom
-Desire
Hmm... I WISH I could go to Desire but I NEED Bluetooth. What about regular MCR?

Can you put this in context though? What was your battery life like previously? What ROMs have you used? What kernel are you using? Where can you even get 5.0.6?
Yeah battery life has to be tested to a standard method one good way to test would be to play a movie with the volume at Max with high brightness or transferring one big file over wifi for a period of time and see how fast it drains. This will act as a stress test and will bring comparisons a lot faster and more efficiently.

The one that doesn't allow you to turn on the phone. Battery lasts for weeks!
In all seriousness, using stock rom gives me a very good battery life now, lasting more than a day with almost everything on, 2 push emails, full brightness and all 3G.
CM 5.0.6 T2. so far ive got a full day of usage out of this rom with 3G all day. setcpu profiles enable. Gtalk, Twitter, Emailing. 5 or more phone calls 15 min each. Two app downloads from market.
But if i was just going to play and show off i had use Enom rom and its far by the best. for battery life. CM 5.0.5 i didnt get great battery life. i could leave my phone over night 100% and wake up to it on 80%-70% or so. with nothing in the background
An undervolted CM 5 may give you a better battery life...
Waiting for 5.0.6...
Cyanogen 5.0.6 is far and away the best ROM I've used, power wise.
Up to 5.0.5.4 I was seriously considering getting rid of my N1, as the battery would lose 80% in less than 10 hours, just sitting on standby combined with less than an hour's worth of web browsing.
5.0.6 is much better, and I'm still showing 50% after 16 hours.
Still not a patch on my old Nokia 5800, which went 3 days at a time on a single charge, but at least I have the confidence to actually use my N1 now...
I'm sorry I call BS on anyone who claims they use their phone AND get more than a day battery life. Until someone is willing to give me a Nandroid backup to restore to my phone to see what it is that is running and prove that their programs and background processes make for a 20+ hr battery, I don't buy it.
I'm off the charger since 8am and am down to 91%... it is ridiculous. I'm on an AVS kernel and Enom with not much running in the background.

Is that aimed at me?
I have a Facebook widget, along with the standard news and weather widget running, and email (NOT the Google mail app) set to refresh every 15 minutes.
I use the browser (on 3G/HSDPA) for up to an hour, here and there, and about the same on wi-fi at home.
GPS is always on, Wi-Fi and bluetooth only on when required.
The Last.fm app also gets used for up to an hour, although not every day.
Couple this with the odd phone call and text message.
The above would see my battery down to less than 20% after about 10 hours, and was really annoying.
The past few days, when I went to bed the battery was hovering around the 50% mark - although I've not used Last.fm this week.
Of course, this may not meet YOUR definition of phone usage, but it certainly isn't BS...

The Helix launcher, the solution to the problems with the battery of the X10.
I think the main problem of the X10's battery consumption is the original launcher, which should have a process that stays resident and eats the battery.
With the Helix launcher, I managed to go from 12/14 hours of battery life up to 36 hours!
is that with your wifi on?
dude, what version of it are you using?
where can I found Helix Launcher for X10?

Correct you want HelixLauncherDonut.

I debranded my fone to R1fa016 hoping to address the battery problem.. it started hopeful but went downhill after..
My standard usage waz switchin 3g on when needed, wifi at home here and there, bluetooth off, gps off unless needed and it used to last only like 10-13hrz.
However i saw option on wifi settings to never sleep and after seein mixed reviews online i thought id try it and i must say im really impressed..
Yesterday, i used 3g for bout an hr, a few quick callz, some msgz, about 2hrz of listenin to music and random phone usage from 11.30am to around half 1 in mornin today and battery waz around 70%.. then used wifi after for about hr n half and i happen to knock off cause i waz tired so wifi waz stil runnin til 11.30am and ma battery was at 45%.
I dnt like low battery so i charged it extra 20minz before I went work which brought battery life upto 62%. Today ive used about 2hrz of 3g, 3hrz of music, alot of callz n msgz and writing this long ass essay lolz and im down to 7%
Im happy with my new battery life.. and sorry 4 the boring essay but hope it helps!

It's an alternative home app with more features. Download the donut version from http://anonym.to/?http://helixproject.ruqqq.sg/, install and then when you press home choose Helix. Ideally set as default then reset the phone to make sure you have the default home unloaded.
cool, I've played around with it, pretty neat, will it really help battery life if i put more home screens and running widgets?

It could do. The theory is the default home is bugged and drains battery. If Helix works better then it should use virtually no CPU when idle. A buggy widget could drain battery just as easily, but if you use more homescreens then the only difference should be in RAM usage I think.

Looking forward to this release! At work I have a hard time charging my phone. Getting notifications all day and being able to use the phone normally is great but I am work for over 8 hours. If I can click a widget and reduce battery drain while I am not using it....awesome! I can always press the widget to restore when I want to view back to normal. I can see how this would be useless to most, but this gives me the ability to use the phone for that 8 hours and not have the phone die before I get home.
I dont get why anyone would trade a great looking for screen for a unicolor one just for one more day of battery life.....
EPIC FAIL.................

well you would get that battery life if your degrading your cpu to Hero standards, lollol
Im overclocking on CM6's standard pershoot .34 kernel and im getting a day always, i take it off charge at 8am and when i get home around 7pm its at about 20-30 percent... And that is proper heavy use, I watch video's on the way to work, mp3, browsing, the phone is actually an extension of my bod lol
I think this is the norm if you want to have the super phone you paid for, and not underclock it and undervolt it into T-mobile pulse territory, lol

Those replying this is stupid need not bother in this thread any long I guess.
For me, usually my battery lasts long enough, but at the same time, the time I might need it would be I've finished my work day and just found I'm not going home to charge it but need to go elsewhere, or like yesterday I had to stay at work and my N1 was needed, but I couldn't charge. When you realise you need to stretch your battery life, you want to know what you should change to extend it. This is just another of those options. It will be useful to have for emergencies.
I for one would like to see this added as an option. As stated in certain cases it could be very useful to be able to use the phone with screen on and lower the battery drain.

I know why my battery drains. I know what apps I am running and I can keep track of all that. I have chosen all my own apps and run what I want/need during that 8 hours. No work around other than turning off those apps. What is the point then? Keep my battery lasting longer but not enjoy the phone and all its purposes? I could always just turn my phone off. No apps running then. Like I said, this would not apply to very many users out there, but not all users are in my situation.

1. looks normal, cell standby is usually the highest on MIUI. how long was your display on?
2. your OC settings look a little high for everyday use. I would try to OC lower and use the superbad governor. my settings are 1017/122 superbad and everything runs smoothly
3. looks like messaging and settings are taking up some memory, try killing those with the task killer. hold down the home button and a window will pop up, on the bottom there is "task killer"
4. looks normal with your OC settings
*edit* Battery Calibration app from the market also works really well, give it a shot. charge your phone til its 100%, and leave it plugged into the charger. run the app, calibrate your battery, then unplug and youre done

Keep i'm mind that I had pandora running continuously for almost 5 hours. I unplugged my phone at 11 am. It has been running for almost 13.hours..
I have noticed that if my phone is hooked to a wifi signal, the battery last easy 3 times more.

Here is the adjustment and activities I did today in regards to battery usage:
Set CPU @ 1.1ghz smartass (same performance)
unplugged for 5hrs
4hrs using data: yahoo messenger, internet browse, gtalk
used ubermusic in traffic (bumpin "ni**as in paris" on repeat LOL)
1hr on wifi (unless wifi was automatically turned on at the mall)
no calls (TY columbus day)
Tried to take a pic at 85% to keep it consistant as the first pic. LOL
Ill be traveling this weekend so im gonna put the GPS to work.
I used GPS the other day @ 1.6ghz and the latency was so minimal
with reroutes being spoken after maybe 200-500 ft of a turn not taken.

Wipe everything
Install ROM
Factory reset
Install my basic apps
Drain the battery to zero
Charge it all the way to 100%
Calibrate it with the app on the market
let the battery die again til zero
Charge it again til 100%
After the second day, it was going.better
Fyi, if I am constantly on non wifi networks, it goes down faster.
And i'm using panache radio
Hope it works for you

no problem bro. yep, running TDJ's Darkside Runny v1.5.1 and its the best Sense build Ive ever flashed. along with the blissmod and quicklaunch widget, its just bad ass. I was a religious MIUI user, but this rom just drew me in. of course the battery life is shorter on Sense builds due to the UI and all the eye candy and bloat, but after 19+ hours average on a full charge, Im not complaining one bit
Do you get commission selling sense roms ? LOL dammit MAN!
i would switch up if i could get 19hrs on sense 3.5. I like its UI interaction (ie text message has address and I can highlight and go straight to navigation)
My issue aside from battery is the widgets not loading correctly on sense 3.5. Do you get that?
With all that eye candy, bloat, etc What do you run your processor at? is it still 1012max superbad?

Hi everyone, I just wanted to say that my battery was 5 days and 21 hours has endured, with Sam's SURFACE JVU v9.01 ROM! I called at that time about 1h, 50 SMS sent, angry birds played 1h, 30min data connection, and 30min with wifi connected. I find this simply amazing and really did not know that this was possible. Apparently so, because Sam's ROM course! So thank you Sam!
Well, on standby with not apps running and wifi off, my phone drains about 20% a day at most if I don't use it. 1 hour of calling, 1hour of angry birds and some surfing would usually also drain about 30%. So in general, with such minimal use, the battery would last about 3-4 days anyway.
You convince me to test this ROM!

It's true. Roms which drain battery are 2.3.3-based roms, as well as poorly made custom roms. Most other roms, especially the froyo 2.2.1 ones, have very good battery life. I'm not saying that the rom you're using isn't good, but I'd simply like to point out that battery life with your amount of usage is gonna be long with most roms anyway.
dont want to troll here, but if standby usages are higher than screen that means you havent used it that much, so it's not due to the rom but due to almost no usage. 3-4 hours of screen turned on a week is almost no use of this phone.
(screen usage uses most battery and it lasts for about 4 hours of screen, it doesnt matter if it is used in a few hours or you dont use your phone and it cumulates 4 hours of screen use during a week)

That's right. you can't even see the "screen" usage on the screenshot, it means you didn't use it almost at all...
if i use my phone the first thing in battery usage is the "screen" than the other apps and stuff...
My sgs holds 14 days!!!!
There is one limitation, however .... I did not turned it on in this period
Seriously ...RLY :-/

Lol... Buddy u vent used the phone like what an avg user over here does...
2.3.6 jw1 rom with data for email push all the day active the battery holds 24hours at most ...depends the other usage
Battery 5 days... ummm you sure you did not leave phone in charging mode.. Basically I can get more too if i don't use as much as you... lol
I'm pretty sure there is nothing revolutionary in this thread - my SGS could last 7 days maybe more even. Fresh cheap 1900mah battery - no stupid widgets or programs in background, no gps, no wifi, 3G ON.

Not weird. When unused, battery lasts for a long time even on stock roms - I'm on stock JVT. With the help of a properly configured juice defender or tasker, you can easily get draining paces this low even by using the phone a bit more. Nonetheless I'm more than confident that Sam's JVU provides even more time to battery than stock roms.
to be honest, I'm hardly far from a power source that long though.
