I uninstalled Maps using Root Uninstaller. I am on Creed 3.5. How can I get Maps back? Any attemps to install from Google Play are met with a "incompatible update" error message.
Surely there must be a way to get it back.

Tried to install this one, but it didn't work. It said installed, but I couldn't see the Maps Icon. Instead I re-installed Creed 3.5 without deleting the data. Now my maps are back.
have you try copy maps from other custom rom and install it?

Thanks! U couldn't install stuff for weeks but everything works now
Here's one solution that worked for me:
I installed Android Market 3.0.27 from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1166152
I cleared the market cash and Google services framework data as per the steps described here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=893538
Then the trick that did it was to disable app2SD under settings/applications.
I still am missing some apps in the market (Skype, Facebook, Google Maps, etc.) but at least I can install them from apk files now.
I hope this helps.
Cheers
Hi all,
I tried installing brute maps so I can use navigation in my country, so I uninstalled maps with root (don't ask me why). Bottom line, I don't have google maps now and any try to install an apk fails. I know there are ways of doing that via adb, can anyone provide some help or links?
Thanks

try deleting the apk with root explorer(its either in /data/app/ or in /system/app/), then reboot and try installing it again. you might want to fix_permissions too. open the terminal emulator app, type su(press enter) type fix_permissions(press enter), then let it finish.
Might be a nooby suggestion but can't you just install it back from the Android Market?

No. At most you can "uninstall updates" to force uninstall it, you need root access because Maps.apk is a system app.
use file manager and goto the systems folder, thats out side of the sd card, select app, see if the map.apk is still there, if so, you can just click on that and reinstall, if it says overwrite, just press ok.
i had the same problem with youtube, after installing a new rom, it shows i had youtube, installed in the uninstaller software, but cannot find it anywhere, it will not let me delete, or reinstall from market, or as a apk, so i used the method above and it works.

Hmm... I just installed AOSP + CyanogenMod's Google Apps (it does not have Google Maps), then I installed Google Maps from Android Market and it works fine.
Not really applied to OP's situation though

Erm.. if you re-read what I said closely.
No. At most you can "uninstall updates" to force uninstall it, you need root access because Maps.apk is a system app.
But yeah. OP has root, just go to the market and re-download Maps. if you dont see it then download market enabler and spoof it as T-Mobile USA and download
if the APK install failed.. how are you trying to install it? what APK?
On my triple boot card I have Google Eart and Maps on both the CM7 and the CM 9.
On the CM 7 It works ok and updates load and install flawless.
On the CM9 Earth and Maps are pre installed.
Earth just does not work. I can load the update and install it but when I start up It tells me that it unfortunally stops.
The installed Maps version works ok, but the update won't install.
It says some signature is missing and tells to uninstall maps and reinstal.
I think that I need to uninstall Google Earth and Maps and than reinstall.
But the problem is, that I see no way to uninstall the preinstalled apps, because they are part of the system.
Thanks for any answer.

You can manually remove them with root explorer, but the best way is to use Titanium Backup. Or with CM9, you can use settings to disable system apps, which they are.
thanks again for your reply.
I downloaded root explorer but did nothing with it, It was too overwhelming for me to find out what to do.
I did try to download the free Titanium Backup but I got the message "error processing purchase [DF-BPA-09]
I was able to download the payd Keyapp, but this won't work without the free Titanium app.
In my CM9 Settings part there is no possibillity to disable system apps.
A lot off the free apps that I try to download stop installing with "error processing purchase [DF-BPA-09]
This is all in CM 9.
In CM 7 everything works okay.
Any idea what's wrong??

In CM9 go to settings, apps, all apps tab, scroll to the system app you want and open it. There should be a disable button there. Once you select that it is not active anymore. If you want to re-enable you do the same thing and then hit enable.
Thanks for your answer.
I could disable the app in this way.
What I hoped was that I could remove it and load the app from the appstore.(that is not gone work)
So this does not really solve the problem.
I am able to ues earth on CM7.
So I will install the apps, that won't install on CM9, on CM7.
No further messing around.
Thanks for your time and expertise.

I had a problem with the Google Play Store app not connecting, so I thought one way to fix it would be to disable it in MIUI settings and then re-enable it (I later figured out what the problem was, so now I just want to get the Play store back). I've re-enabled it, but the icon still doesn't appear and I can't access it. I've tried downloading a couple different versions in APK, and when I try installing I get the error "Application not Installed."
How can I fix this?

-Delete all the data/cache of the app then restart the phone.
-Do a wipe dalvik/cache from recovery or flash gapps.
Like the title says, China blocks all google related apps so google play services is non-existent on my phone.
Running Android 4.4.2 and have tried "google installer", and manually installing it with apks with no luck either.
Once I install the APK's such as google play, or google play services, or google accounts, when I try to run them it gives the message "unfortunately google play services has stopped working".
I'm not too sure how to root this phone and if anyone has any ideas that would be great, thanks
Have you tried the usual procedures: Clear cache, factory reset?
