Flashing through SD

Hi all,
I just my very first PDA a HTC 3300. The thing is it has a portuguese ROM and I would like to install a English ROM. It is CID/Network locked and i tried flashing it via the SD method but with out results.
When I do the bootloader sequence I get a white screen saying checking SD contents and then it goes straight to the 3 colored screen not showing me the screen that is in the wiki site. Can anyone help me with this beginners problem.

if is cid locked dont try 2 flash,U'll only brick ur device.buy unlock code from imei-check its worth it

Thanks. I did just that. It was quick and easy. And I've already flashed my device with the original HTC ROM. But I don't like it that much. Do you have any suggestion on which one to flash. I don't want any useless programs and the gps programs to be intalled. I got my own gsp prog that I want to use.

i use dopod shipp

Didn't I read somewhere that Dopod will lock the pda again? Could you clear this for me.

has any one got the solution to that...? a have O2 Orbit that boots only to the HTC logo with the ROM version...IPL.....and SPL I`v tried to flash from the memory card but it does exactly the same as above. Can someone give a solution coz I`v tried with a working "Artemis" (i don`t know if it is CID/locked) but it is a working device,and the result is exactly the same,it shows "checking SD contents" and goes to the colored boot screen.

You tried to Formatting in FAT32?Please did it before.

Yes I did...same thing...maybe we are missing some kind a file,to tell the Arteimg.nbh to start loading.....

you will not be able to flash from sd card.
to flash from sd card you need a specific service card. when this card is inserted, you can flash from the card.
with uspl, flashing from sd card is not supported.

Not true, i succesfully flashed several times o2 wm6ship. ROM thru SD(ordinary 2GB, not even cleaned-only ARTEIMG.nbh in root). But it must be original operators ROM. Cannot be cooked rom or from diff. operator.

you right, except original rom for device. meaning correct model id and cid.

please help.

see i thought this would happen with my luck.. i tried to do it and [email protected]$#ed my phone up. it is stuck at the bootloader screen and i have no clue what to do. i have looked at the wiki on how to fix it and dont what it says to do . plaese email me at [email protected]. please i really do need help. i really need my phone. and i really hope i did not brick my phone

I had the same thing happen on a Verizon XV6800. Using the SD card update method, I put the Verizon stock ROM (this has both the radio and Window's) on the SD card and booted with the bootloader. This should return your phone to stock. Use the appropriate image file for your carrier! Follow the SD card update instructions.

HTC 3300 wrong ROM upgrade,,no display,,pls HELP

i have made a mistake
have tried to upgrade my T-MOBILE MDA COMPACT III(aka htc p3300) with the HTC TOUCH ROM
it started to upgrade and an error occured
then i have lost the display and all
when i connect it to my laptop using USB i hear a beep in my computer but active syn didnt find any device
i have downloaded the correct rom version from T-Mobile but it doesnt seem to work
i dont know what to do now..please help me it has to be recovered
there must be some way pls pls anyone help me to get my working phone back

as i said on the other post
well you have to get the original ROM for your device.. see their website.. it should be there for free. or try to get it from anyplace.. (the original rom)
and then flash it using SD Card flashing

thanks i m downloading it...but tell me one thing if there is a software issue then why isnt ther any display i mean no backlight no display no charging led

i think that becuase the bootloader , ISP or one of these stuff are corrupted.. don't know.
and as i told once i got my artemis completely dead
and finally i got it fixed by putting the ARTEIMG.nbh in SD card as they said in the wiki and then by pressing the camera button and the power.
and it started flashing it as the SD card flashing but it took about 30 mins .. and there was three phases in the flashing progress which it was the first time i see.

did you flashed it by SD card or RUU?
if you used RUU try by SD card flashing

did u get the same prob? i mean the phone seems to be dead? if so...there is a hope then
well...i used RUU simply downloaded it and tried to install by setup,,, dont know about card flashing but will try
where can i find that NBH file?
do u have that .NBH file?

you have to extract the file you using a program like winrar
there will be few files.. one of them is the nbh
that's how i got the nbh file.

help urgent installing android on the hd2

hi,
so downloaded a build from the forum and was naive enough to not look at the other posts. looked at this site - http://www.addictivetips.com/mobile/how-to-install-android-2-2-froyo-on-htc-hd2-easily/
and just copied the extracted files into the root folder on the sd card and launched clrcad and then herat. screen came up where it seemed the phone was doing something but is now stuck and seems hung - for the last 20odd minutes. should i have upgraded the radio, formatted the sd card etc. what do i do now? is it safe to put the phone off, maybe take out the battery and will it work when started up again? any other simple steps i need to follow before i try this again?

You can take out the battery it won't harm it and it will boot to winmo.
I had the same problem I just flashed the radio again and android works again from sd boot.

[Q] HBOOT wont flash ... HELP!!!

i am trying to root and put jellybean on my My-touch 4g. i know all the processes and i have gone through a great deal of time reading and watching videos. the first thing i was supposed to do was to downgrade my My-touch 4g to 2.2.1 since you can't root the version 2.3.4. well i downloaded the files necessary and put them on the root of the SD card and booted into H Boot.
so my problem is that the H Boot doesn't recognized the PD15IMG.zip ( hence me not being able to do anything). please help ....
i was also wondering if i could flash a Custom Rom through recovery without having to root or downgrade?

If the HBOOT doesn't recognize your PD15IMG, you might be either naming it wrongly or using an unrecognized SD card.
Grab another SD card or reformat yours, and try again. And again. And next time please use search for questions that have been already asked zillion times.
And if there was a simpler way, tell me, do you think that people would use more complicated ways for 2 years now?? Some basic logic.

and the reason i decided to post my own thread was because i have tried almost everything on other threads and nothing worked i have also tried to use a different SD card and that also failed. and thanks for the advises but i already knew that ....

Did Ty check to see if the file is PD15IMG.zip.zip? If so, delete a .zip.Also make sure it isn't in a folder on your sd card.

If nothing works - then you're doing something wrong. Plain and simple.
Your MT4G isn't different from any other MT4G.
Look for what you're doing wrong. There are very few options.
