Making a ROM - Feature Requests Here - Galaxy S I9000 General

Hay guys making a Jellybean ROM called Portal OS just place your requests for a ROM here as I would like to gather a little external input before I compile my first build also if anyone is good at bootanimations they aren't my strong point so I could use a hand with that

Radio FM please, Vodoo Sound, permissions control

Fast dormancy option built in, for users to select on/off.

Yeah, just an Idea. You may focus on performance, batterylife etc. However, if you concentrate on STK.apk you'll be a hero. Trust me.

Great idea.

You can add following features.
1) Answer a call by pressing Home Button
2) Notification light(Menu & Back Button LED) for any Notification. It will save our time to check out again n again for any notification. Also it reminds us.
3) Video Camera
4) FM Radio
5 ) StopWatch & Timer
I like below features in jelly bean So Plz Dont remove it

2) Lock Screen Settings
3) Showing Battery Status in Percentage
4) Launcher Settings like Custom no of screens, Wallpapers,Labels under Icon..etc

Okidoke

The wifi- id to the notification area's dropdown list instead of the operator when using wlan. I wonder why no one has implemented it yet, it would make a lot of sense.

Yes I never thought of that

Custom kernel with already in it or OC capable and possible to fix translations

What do people think of a recovery option of efs backup

Notification button

Would anyone be able to make an app that makes one of the bottom buttons flash when a message is received. Because I really hate not having a notification light and I don't really like noLED.
galaxy 4g
Made My Day... just search for bln.
tapatalked' on a Galaxy S...
Omg. Fail.

i downloaded bln but when i flashed the kernal i almost bricked my phone is there any apps like this that doesnt require flashing a kernel
noLED does this sort of. search it on the market or find the thread about it here on xda
I had noLED but I don't really like it. That's why I was wondering if there was an app that makes the buttons on the bottom light up when a notification is received

Try searching through your own kernels cement to see if it has bln integrated.
I downloaded 2 bln kernels but whenever I flashed them they didn't work and I got stuck at the boot animation and I had to restore with odin

This isn't the section for Galaxy S 4G discussion. You have to flash a 4G kernel with BLN or LED Notification, no other way.

[TIP] Long pressing notification toggles

Hey guys,
I found out something new yesterday; when you click a notification toggle for a 'long' time it opens the according settingsmenu.
I thought I might share this with you guys as I imagine there are people that don't know about this yet, as was the case with me!

This was added in the October's Jelly Bean 4.1 update. I've been using since and it's VERY useful.

I know right, I love how this device can keep amazing me, once in a while. Never had that with any other phones I had.
Also: bump for the people that don't know this cool little trick -yet.
I like this too. New since jb update, and a good one. My favorite feature though is when you slide your finger across the indicator dots at the bottom of the home screen to quickly scroll through the home screens.

Adding ALL Apps to Multi-Window

Hi, I see there are a couple tutorials for the Note 2 regarding expanding the choice of apps to Multi-Window. Just wondering if anyone has tried it yet on the S4? I'm certain that this will be part of future ROM's and it looks it's mainly a process of modifying apk's which is above my skill level, unfortunately.
Thanks in advance!
I tried the Galaxy Note 2 method with no luck I am going to try some build prop tweaks tonight and I will report back.

I also can't wait to root to customize which app icons appear in the shortcut bar in the task bar with headphones plugged in.

One thing that's pretty interesting/entertaining is that since I downloaded this app, my status bar goes away anytime I use the XDA Premium app, but it doesn't do this on any other app, lol!

[req] Port Touchless Control?

So Touchless Control has been released on the Google Play store, is there a way to port it?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.motorola.audiomonitor
I'm sure it'll find it's way onto other Android devices in the future :good:
Here's a third party app that does the same thing.

Yeah it isn't the same. +1 for porting touchless control but im worried about the negative effect it will have on battery life, the moto x has a dedicated language processing core for a reason.
