Help( How to sim unlock nexus s)? - Nexus S General

I neeed to unlock sim unlock for google nexus s
v 2.3.4
baseband 2.6.35.7-ge382d80 window 1
I want to do it by free.

the nexus s is already unlocked. did you try just putting a sim card in and see if you can get connected and make phone calls?..... unless you mean somebody locked the sim on that phone which requiring entering a sim lock pin, this is different than network locked... so which is it?

help plz

Useless thread,
Nexus S I9023 isn't simlocked (like all Nexus phones).
Just select automatic network and reboot.
Or your SIM Card may be outdated for this phone...
Anyway, this thread should be post in Nexus S Q&A section, not in General

No Network after flash

Hi,
I successfully rooted my Nexus S 4G and flash it with with the gingerbread-ns4g-deck.
Everything worked fine so far. Mod looks great.
But I do not get any network service after the flash. It seems the phone is not recognizing the SIM card at all. Normally it asked for the PIN number after a reboot.
Now it doesn't. Also I have no option to choose a network manually.
I tried flashing different basebands (radios) and kernels.
Still no chance.
Thanks for your help! I live in Germany and have a Vodafone contract by the way.
All the best
GB
Nobody with an idea on this one?
Is there by chance an option where I can activate the SIM through entering my PIN number?
What should I do (install) to at least go back to the original firmware?
Thanks in advance.

No problem man. It's pretty hard to brick these phones, I've even seen someone flash a CDMA radio on a GSM but they still fixed it... not that I suggest doing that!

Weird Problem[solved]

I got this weird problem. I have aircel SIM card and I have been using it for more than a year. Two days back I couldn't get any signal. So I tried this SIM on another phone at the same location.. It works..full range
Then I tried an Idea SIM and even another aircel SIM on my g3 to verify whether any problem with cm7
But here also no problem... full range
Conclusion both g3 and particular Aircel SIM independently dont have problems but when put together there is some problem. Signal pops up for 3 secs and then disconnects sometimes.
Help!!!
Solution: Bought a duplicate SIM (had the same problem )and desperate to find a solution I choose my network manually rather than automatic.... and it worked what a relief ...will never know whether manually choosing the network in the old SIM would have worked but anyone who has this same issue should try choosing the network manually before buying a duplicate SIM(Rs50 down the drain )
even i had the same problem i thought it was because of cm7....

Have u flashed any custom or ported rom.. if so than u will face this problem, try to flash with the stock rom of ur country..from India than flash with DDJP4 or JP6 via kies ..

I had a similar problem (losing network without reason) and it was solved by flashing another rom. I've no idea what it came from...
ok its not problem of ROMs because I flashed
kyrillos ROM older version.. same problem
I even flashed asian ROM 2.1 still the same problem
Asian rom means which one.. first flash with eclair 2.1, than update via kies to DDJP6, than u can check with ur aircel network.. if u do this I think u wont face any prob..

Did you check if both the networks use the same GSM band? There is a method to check the band, I have seen it here and done that. I just don't remember how. It could be that your phone suddenly doesn't receive signal of that band. Ask the moderator or someone how to change the band. Keep me posted too..

If this is out of the equation for the time being is the only option to pay for an unlock code online? If so what are the recommended sites, as I have been ripped off before.

It is very likely you could pay your operator to unlock it. About sites, I never used one so I won't recommend anything.
If you aren't in LG8 or LG6 firmwares you can still use Voodoo Unlock app from supercurio website: project-voodoo.org
I'm on xLite 1.4.0 XXLH1. I got my phone from Phones4U (UK) and I'm on Orange (UK) when I tried to sim unlock it gives me an error code when I try use x#XXXX# commands. Now when I swap it for my simcard with T-Mobile (UK) I can make calls etc but in my STATUS in ABOUT PHONE it doesn't display my phone number, it just displays 00000000000 and on the Orange it does display the number.
So really it is unlocked but not fully unlocked? I know you can't really get half and half but it seems like it in this case. I haven't tried the manual way of unlocking but I will at one point, just want advice.
---------
Edit: Just noticed that my firmware is higher than most. Will degrade and try app again but will still check back and follow advice from you all!

You are not making much sense, if you are asking if changing the ROM will block/unblock the IMEI number then no, it will not. IMEI number blocking is done at the mobile network level, not on the phone.

Stop spamming to get your post count up, especially with useless/confusing advice -_-
You would be better off looking at the GalaxSIM unlock app, as it does a better job than the Voodoo app.
XDA link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1846451
To support the developer get his app from the Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.spocky.galaxsimunlock&hl=en
There are two apps for unlocking. Both require root, so you have to root or/and flash custom rom.
I recommend flasing stable ARHD with perseus kernel and your favorite theme (I used grey and black then AOSP theme).
you'd get a better answer if you asked I the right forum

Got stuck on SIM LOCK with the Leaked Samsung 4.1.2 XXLSJ Firmware? SOLVED

Hello there, if you are a total noob just like me, or you are simply looking for this and just flashed the recently leaked Samsung 4.1.2 XXLSJ Firmware and got stuck with that SIM UNLOCK code, the solution is just at hand and it is totally safe and free.
All you need is a WiFi connection and have a visit over the Play Store
Look for "Galaxy S2 SIM Unlock", which is a free app and download it
The job gets done just by taping over "SIM unlock code", it may take a few moments and you are done with the number.
Copy the number elsewhere and reboot your phone, once your asked about the number just type it and you are ready to go.
Remember you can only use this code once (per phone cycle) so if you miss typed it you are going to need to reboot again.
Enjoy your phone and allow me to give you an extra tip: NEVER FORMAT your Sd Card with this new firmware as some have reported that it resulted on BRICKING your lovely SGS2.
James.-

"Galaxy S2 SIM Unlock" didn't work for me. I used a "GalaxSim Unlock", but this isn't a permanent unlock.
Does anyone knows how to permanently unlock my phone for free?
One could also restore their efs from a backup.
The efs method worked for me while the sim unlock app method didn't.
