I flashed P6800XXLQ2 everything is butter smooth and rock solid stable, but... it chews battery like crazy when it idles.
I had 30% batt, locked it and went to sleep. This morning I found it dead. If you look at the battery curve it always goes down at almost the same slope, does not matter you use it, or not.
EDIT
I tried wiping battery stats and disabling WiFi wile locked. Still the same.
I follow below suggestion and it seems to work.

I had the same issue having my WiFi off. I had to turn it On and then Tablet started working for days just as before
Turn on - for longer battery life, weird, but that works

So which of these I should chose?
Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep if you turn this off it’ll help extend your battery’s life when the device is put into sleep mode.

Always.
OH WOW! Last night I disabled WIFI & Mobile data and locked my device. It had 59% battery. Now it's 58%!!! After 10 hours. There are some serious problems with LQ2 power management.
It aways goes down this straight slope. Does not matter if I use my tab at all. But last night?
So phase 2 of my test, I will use WIFI only, and no mobile data.

some times this happened to me also ... and then I noticed because some application still active in the background eg game and youtube internet browser. even after I quit .
I did experience also my galaxy tab 7.7 was warm /hot ... this was because the game and internet browser still active in the background.
So after that I always "closed all applications" from "task manager" ... no more battery issue or warm /hot issue again.
OK I have disabled mobile data entire day and set to disable wifi when locked. My tab was almost unused all day and this happened.
IT IS WIFI RELATED!

my battery does not drain my opinion.
So your battery goes from 100% to 0% in a little over 3 hours? You need a new battery.
Nah man it was fine before.. just after this rom its dying like crazy, its not as bad as 100-0 in 3 hrs tho.
every once in a while I stumble on a Rom / Kernel combination that does this. It could also be a rouge app that is being reported as system.
Try this: install OSMonitor (because the system doesnt give you specific details) and in the setting have it sort by load, then find out what is taking the most percentage of CPU. Long press on that item and select Watch Log. See if there are errors or redundant messages that keep popping up. That will find your issue.

hey man thats very helpfull, thanks so much..LOl but i just flashed back to evils sense rom.. so lemem see if this is consistent. Thanks man.
I get great battery using miui ROM with kernal 2.6.35.4 [email protected]#12. ALSO let battery drain completely and charge fully without turning it on. Then boot to recovery and wipe battery stats. Conditioning and the right kernal / ROM combo has my battery holding up great! Hope it helps! =D

+1, with setcpu
I'd suggest you try CM6 and SetCPU. Both have dramatically helped increase battery life for my N1. I never used to get one whole day's worth backup before, but now I do, sometimes a little more than 24hours (when not used quite a lot).
For me, I found the biggest battery drain to be signal strength.. Even more so than 3G/WiFi or brightness. In an area with low cell signal, the antenna seems to be constantly trying to reconnect and it kills my battery life in a couple hours. If im in an area with strong signal, I can leave everything on (gps, wifi, bt, 3g) and get all day service easily.
In recent memory I've noticed that I'm losing a significant chunk of battery even with the screen off.
Looking at this screenshot from GSAM battery monitor, I've barely been using my phone while it sits on my desk but the battery has dropped 25% with the wifi looking like it's been active the entire time.
How should I go about figuring out which offending app is causing this?

It's no longer in that location, see above.
wifi scanning has been turned off in location and it's still the same result.
OP, I have the same problem and it eats the battery. It happens everytime I take my phone off charger, turn wifi on, browse some Internet, turn the wifi off. WIFI stays on according to battery stats. The only thing that helps is to slide the wifi toggle on in setting and then off and reboot.
I installed Resurrection Remix 5.6.9 two days ago and thing have been GREAT until this afternoon.
On the way home from, I suddenly noticed my battery started draining way too fast.
Tonight, I've been monitoring, and it's lost the same amount of battery in less than an hour as it did all last night unplugged 7 hours while I slept.
I installed gsam battery monitor in the hopes it would provide me with more inromation than the standard battery info from Android settings menu, but it's not telling me much more.
Also, in the time from 8:50 - 9:10 that I had the screen off and phone unplugged, the phone is warm like I've had the screen on using a CPU intensive app.
What else can I do to track what is causing this battery drain? (and i'm assuming CPU usage).
The only thing I did today that was any different was to install the Asus Pixelmaster camera app from the play store. other than that, absolutely no different usage today than the past two days.
I have just now uninstalled the Asus camera app to see if that is the culprit, but I don't see how it could be.
This is my first go with Resurrection Remix, but I did use the Asus Pixelmaster camera on CM13 and (obviously) stock and stock rooted ROMs.
Please, any thoughts on this?
@BigBrosMo this might interest you as well.

Craziness.... Not the camera. Something in cyanogen. The flat a section is airplane mode.
i could not track down what was causing the problem. this morning was even worse - about 1% drain every two to three minutes .
i'm trying out the XOSP ROM now.
I noticed if i turn the wifi off the drain is reduced significantly. Bluetooth is on, cellular on, wifi off.
Did you get any further in diagnosing battery loss? It's taking forever for RR 5.7.1 to get released.
I am having this issue to! On a couple roms at that. Anything you have found to resolve this?

No.. I just keep trying different Roms. I use resurrection remix latest and it's ok as long s location is completely off. If on high accuracy or battery Saver it kills battery. So I only use sparingly.
huh... so odd. I was excited about this one but I am getting ADs now and the battery issues. Had the same thing in Resurrection and now XOSP. In my troubleshooting, I installed an original ROM and that seemed to run fine. Going to see if someone deodexed one and flash that...
Take a look at this
It may be with 'Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep' activity. Set it to 'Never'.
OR
Step A: Set 'can modify system settings' of 'Xender' in 'modify system settings' to off.
(But by keeping this off, everytime Xender prompts 'allow changing settings' and you need to allow it to use the app. After the use, you need to again do the Step A)
Aloah!
I bought the S7 Edge and used it in stock version. Then I noticed that the battery loses over 10% per night. So I decided to install the Superman ROM with root and deactivated some Samsung Features. But the phone still looses over 10% per night.
I have disabled WLAN, BT and GPS. The only activated feature is the always-on-display, but this could not be the problem, because of AMOLED. I know that Samsung bloates their phones with useless things and I only recognize this battery problem (mostly) on Samsung phones. So I think the battery loss must have to do something with the Samsung features.
So my questions are these two:
1. How can I find the battery-using processes?
2. Is there a near-stock-android ROM which is fully debloated? On the S5 the stock ROM had 1,5 GB and then I installed one which has only 400 MB. So there was much Samsung trash removed.

since you are rooted start by installing either Wakelock Detector or BetterBatteryStats app and see the output of those in the morning.
also is it a used or new phone? if its used then the battery might be faulty.
also try 1 night with AOD off and see if that gets rid of the issue.
Its a brand new phone. Ok, I try these two apps.
But what is AOD?

Does this really take that much battery? I mean, its mostly black and that doenst consume battery (mostly).

Id bet thats where most of your drain is coming from. Im just going by what I recall, but believe AOD accounts for 1 to 2% per hour.
I like having the AOD at night so I keep it on regardless since Im pretty much able to charge my phone at work or in the car, its not a big deal.
Ok, I deactivated the AOD but still got around 7% loss.
Hi, I've got a problem with my P9Lite for a few days now.
Over night the battery decreases from 23% to 2%, but there are no apps running. This happens always somewhere around 30%, then the battery drops by 15-20%.
In the second screenshot you can see the batterymanager, it seems like the phone is completely shut down but it was always on.
The battery was new, the old battery now has the same problem.
Has anyone an idea?
Thank you?

Hi,
I've been on holidays for a few days and now I'm back.
Here's a screenshot from the time where the battery life decreases.
The battery had about 13% when I laid it aside, in the morning the phone was dead.
When rebooting I saw that the battery continuously decreased. WLAN was off, it just laid on the table.
Is it really the facebook app causing this drain with less than 1mAh?
Thank yoU!

ok,check this.
kill all apps from recent screen.
clear cache from recovery mode.
Ok, I have blocked the apps and set them as "close when phone is in standby".
I will keep you updated.
Thanks

So now after about 1 month the problem seems to be gone. I don't know why I had to force closing apps but it worked.
Thank's for your help!!
