Nexus s battery recharge time

I was wandering if its only my nexus s(i9023) takes upto 3 to 4 hours to charge.
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
same here, up to 3-4 hours, which is quite much
The charge time is quite ridiculous

You can use a different charger - the one that comes with the Evo is 1.0A, not the 750ma that comes with the Nexus. Still - the Nexus is way too slow, but this helps.
I hope this is not the case. I just purchased the Nexsus S last night and i like guick charging while in the car. The iPhone 4 I have been using charges very quick. I am using a 2.1 AMP car charger. Right now I'm at 82% and charging so will see how long it takes to get 100%

Since my last post, battery has gone up 85% charged. I just disconnected to grab some lunch.

Check whether your phone is charging in AC mode or USB mode when charging with the car charger. If it is slow, I suspect it's charging in USB mode.
I have Galaxy Tab 7. Will that charge faster since the Tab has a bigger battery and hence a more powerful charger?

I believe the SGT 7 charger is a 5v charger, which is the same as the Nexsus S charger with 0.7A.

Buy a battery charger. I like the one from Samsung. There are also many aftermarket options.
So lovely to come home and pop in a fresh battery.

Might do that. Saw on eBay, 2 1500mah batteries and charger for 9.99. Only thing is they take forever to ship from Hong Kong.

Actually, i just took a look at my Galaxy Tab 7" charger and the output is 5V 2.0A. It's not the same amperage as the Nexus S, but higher. Should definitely charge faster then.
I use a 1 amp Pre cylinder charger.
No idea how long it takes; so far have only charged overnight with the occasional USB cable top-up.
Not sure if I'd try something pushing 2A though...

What Wireless charger are you using?

I am currently using the LG one (WCP-300) but I want to get a new charger because I also use it for my Nexus 4.
I am currently using the S4 Qi charger, but would love something better suited. It can be annoying to position the tablet right on mine. Can't wait to hear other input either.

I use the "official" nexus charger from Google, cus my 7 is the only qi device I have... Otherwise, I would want something bigger I think, to charge multiple devices. I love it though, its a great stand, sometimes I use it as just a stand (without being plugged in) when I'm on my computer as well
Energizer Qi-Enabled 3 position chargger. Charges my N4 and N7 simultaneously. I highly recommend it.

12 volt charger?
Are any of the wireless chargers able to run off a 12v cigarette lighter socket?
I want to mount my Nexus 7 in my car but don't want to have to plug in/unplug the micro USB cable everytime.

That's the single position charger, I have the 2-position version and it charges my S3 and N7 at once with no issues. I could do without the silver logo and trim though...

I got the S4 during the promo sale. It is the first QI charger I've gotten. It works fine with the N7, but I would have to get something else if I needed to charge more than one thing at a time.

Approximately 2-3 hours from 4% to 100%. I usually do not watch and take the phone off when the charging light is off.
I got the Samsung Charger when it was on sale for $25. Works great.
I'm using this one from Amazon -
http://www.amazon.com/Koolpad-Wirel...76061273&sr=8-19&keywords=wireless+qi+charger
I picked it up for either 35 or 39 but it's a bit more exp. now. Works really well, and will beep at you if your device isn't on the pad correctly.

Do they ship a Qi charger with Nexus or do i have to buy it separately?

The charger you need to buy separate.
The charging plate is built into the back of the tablet.

Thanks for the info. Is there any difference in the charging time between wired charger and wireless one?

Yes, qi charging is not as efficient as straight cord.

Way too general without some data to back it up. I know my qi charges faster than USB to PC. I strongly suspect my Panasonic TM-101 (12V, 1 amp) charges faster than the 5V, 1.3 amp charger that comes with the Nexus 7 (2013). Someone more interested than me can test it.

LG Nexus 4 slow charging

Do you guys notice the LG wall charger that came with the phone seem to charge more slowly that others? I tried charging my Nexus 4 with a samsung charger and it charge at least twice as fast compared to the LG that came with the phone.

There's a reason this phone has a smaller battery. Therefore they'll use a less amped charger. For instance it takes longer to charge my note 2 than my nexus 4 does. Our LG charger is only 1amp. My note 2 is a 2amp hence 2x faster.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
But why would they make it charge slow. I just don't see the benefit in doing that and the charger I use is a galaxy s2 charger. The battery size is not much different.

The output on the LG is 5v, 1.2A and the output on the Samsung is 5v, 1A. It seems the LG is suppose to output more, yet it charges more slowly. I also notice sometimes with the LG charger the phone switch to usb mode.

I noticed my charger got slower too. I swapped the cable and it charges fast again. The cable that the charger comes with got faulty, but I can't really notice anything when inspecting it.

Can my battery get damaged?

I've jsut found out that my charging cable(factory cable) is screwed.Sometimes it charges, sometimes not.My question is:can it damage the battery,or any hardware parts of the phone causing permanent issues?Of course, now i changed the cable to a good one...
If it sends the wrong voltage then yes but I highly doubt that since the USB Plug controls the voltage with the resistors and such.

No you are completely safe.
Like said above, the usb cable just transfers power. The power source decides how much it charges your phone.
That's why charging your phone with your computer/laptop takes alot longer then using the wall charger.

Yep, it does 500Mah each port but if only one port is in use on a 3 port laptop then it would be 1500Mah.

No. Why?
Wont charge while device is powered off. Charges fine when its on. I guess thats all for it, might be a bad cable.
