Where has our picture gone?!? - Eee Pad Transformer General

When you list all forums on XDA, if you scroll down to the "Asus Eee Pad Transformer TF101" the picture isn't working. All the other devices have a working picture
The img url (http://images.media.xda-developers.com/images/forumpics_new/Asus Eee Pad Transformer TF101.jpg) seems to be a dead link.
Alright, the TF101 may have been superseded a few times, but surely we still deserve a working picture

[Q] a Question about EEE Transformer

Hi Everyone
Recently i brought "Acer Iconia A500" Tablet.
I'm not convinced with this tablet when i compare it with EEE Transformer.
EEE Transformer has clear screen (not like a500).
I'm very confused now. Should i buy (EEE Transformer) or another one instead of A500?
What do you think please?

Short answer? Yes.
Long answer? Yes.
I associate the Acer brand as being cheap Walmart/Zellers discount products.
You know what the answer will be... this is the transformer forum at all...
if you don't need a usb port on the tablet itself, the TF is a no brainer.

correct..the tablet itself only comes with a microSD slot and hdmi port..
there're two usb ports and another SD slot on the keyboard dock.

and additional battery life on the dock itself
But there will be an "extension kit" availible (which gives you an USB-port on the tablet itself) at the end of the month...afaik for ~30$.

7-inch ASUS EeePad Android Tablet at CES 2012

A promotional image of the 7-inch Asus EeePad Tablet was leaked prior to its unveiling at CES2012.
It might be a 7-inch tablet cheap, with a price of about $299. Check source for images.

It's the eee memo pad.

I think it is thicker than the other tablets, but I like the full sized usb port.

Why won't my Transformer TF300T HDMI not work with my Panasonic??

Hello everyone. I tried doing a search on this and got plenty of topics but mainly for phones etc...still trying to learn search in here.
Anyway, I purchased a HDMI cable today for me to watch Netflix on my Panasonic plasma tv and lo and behold it doesn't work!
I read some where how some people get sound and can only play certain movie players with the exception on Google Movies but tried playing a movie from my memory card and nothing...no sound...no image...not even a flicker.
Can anyone help me...I find this quite bizzare!
Thanks

if you can see your tablet desktop on your tv and then it becomes blank while watching a movie, this means that your tv dont support HDCP, if you cant see anything this means that something is defective (cable, tv or hdmi-out in your tablet, probably the cable)
Can't be the cable because I just bought it yesterday ...
I can't believe it's my tablet...I got it in July!
My dvd is connected to my tv via HDMI....sigh...it's always something!

Hmmm it still could be the cable, I have gotten new cables that were bad before. Try exchanging it for a new one, or try the cable on another device.
I'll take it to the store and try it on one of the tvs there.

Are you on a stock ROM or custom?

I had this issue before with my my previous tablet the TF101, I also own a panasonic plasma TV and my TV didn't recognize the tablet. (But other TV's did!)
What I did was update my rom to a custom ROM which run the latest version of ICS. Stock out of the box ROM didn't work out for me.
So did you update your firmware? :good:

Stock....I don't really feel the need to root my tablet.
I intended on keeping it unrooted.
I bought my tablet with ICS and got the JB upgrade about a month or two later.
I went back to the store and the cable didn't work there either.
Tried another cable and it worked however when I got home it didn't work with my Panasonic.
after a bit of digging it seems as though the Transformers have a problem communicating with panasonic tvs and a few other brands.
Sucks...I wish I knew this beforehand.
I love my tablet but I don't particularly like the fact I can't enjoy simple things such as this.

looks like its the panasonics tv that wont completely suppport hdmi 1.4 standards, not a tablet problem.

The problem many not be your tablet.
A google search for HDMI trouble and Panasonic returns many such problems. None that I read mention Asus or tablet.
I'm sure if my search had been transformer or asus and panasonic hdmi my results would have been different.
My search was an attempt to see if Panasonic had issues with other types of devices and brands and I found that to be true.
Maybe a search with panasonic ( including model # ) and hdmi trouble would give a more positive answer as to the resolution of your problem.

If your Panasonic has any function like all share (dlna) then just download an application from play or aptoide and do it wireless

Common problem with Panasonics. Its weird. Try getting an HDMI switcher, maybe should be able to solve the problem. If not dig in to your TV and play around with the HDMI input settings.
Gonna revive this because I'm having a similar problem and it doesn't look like the original poster got anywhere.
I have a HDMI D-A cable that allows me to connect my tf300 to an external display. Connected to the TV in my living room or bedroom, it outputs just fine, so I know the transformer and cable are good. Conntected to the monitor in the office - where it will be at home most often - i can't get any video output. The monitor stays in standby as though nothing is connected. This tells me that maybe the HDMI port on my Acer H243H isn't working, but I lugged my HTPC over to the office to check it out, and the HTPC works just fine on the Acer over HDMI, so I know the monitor is good.
It seems that the transfomer isn't compatible with this monitor for some reason. Is there any way to remedy that? My experience with tablets is that if it works, it works, and if it doesn't, it doesn't. I've never seen any drivers or device-specific configurations anywhere in this thing, so it seems like I'm stuck?
Would really like to get this to work. Any ideas other than custom roms and rooting and such would be appreciated.
Same issue with rca brand of tv.

HDMI out non functioning
My tf300t does not display anything to external monitors over the micro HDMI port. I have tried 3 different brands of TV and 2 separate HDMI cables so its not that. The output did work on ICS stock but I upgraded to jellybean stock and it stopped working. I am currently running CM11-20140308-SNAPSHOT-M4-tf300t and it still does not work. Please help.

asus memo pad smart 10" vs tf300

Any thoughts on this new memo pad smart? The specs seem almost the same except these advantages i have found in each model..
Asus Memo pad Smart
+usb conector instead of proprietary
+2 speakers - stereo (tf300t only has one speaker)
+camera has flash
+tablet is lighter
Asus TF300T
+dock connector for keyboard (a bluetooth keyboard will be available for the memo pad)
+8 mpixel camera with autofocus (memo pad has 5 mpixel)
+available in 16 and 32gb versions (memo pad only has 16gb)
+ips display 178º angle (memo pad has 170º angle)
Unless you really need the dock maybe the memo pad is a cheaper alternative with no significant disadvantages..
Question:
-is this one still plagued by the same i/o issues
only noticeable differences are that the memo pad can render video at 1080p while the tf300 can only render it at 720p and the lack of the docking keyboard on the memo pad.

Are you sure about this? i find it strange since the hardware on both is pratically equal, so, if one can play 1080p the other should also be able to do it.
I don't get the memo pad 10". It's very similar to the TF300. It has lower battery life and is a bit lighter. Not much else to write about. Are ASUS in a bit of a panic and try to saturate the market with similar products?

its cheaper to build and the dock sales are poor for the 300 so from their perspective no reason to waste money in components and logistics for it.
they arent saturating the market, tf300 is in EOL, its not producted anymore, the new memopad substitute it.

It's obvious that the TF300T can work with 1080p movies since it can record them.
Yes... I'm also able to watch all my series at 1080p (using unters kernel)

I think the remark was about the HDMI output, whether being able to support 1080p or not. Because in the Memo pad features it explicitly states 1080p support, but it doesn't state it in the tf300 page.
To explain the spec differences (1080p), it probably has the new and updated Tegra 3 chip also used in the TF700 (http://www.anandtech.com/show/6036/asus-transformer-pad-infinity-tf700t-review/3). This means faster core clocks, and faster graphical capabilities because of higher memory bandwidth. They probably used a slightly better emmc chip as well, because they'd really be dumb otherwise.
Maybe they would have added 5GHz WiFI?
At the end of the day, the Memo Pad is just another middling 10" tablet, and there are plenty of those around already. This might be a cheap alternative to keep and eye out for, however.
Screen resolution is low. I notice it on my TF300. Tegra 3 is outdated. No NFC is a deal breaker.
$299 is too much money to spend for this in 2013.

Tried a full HD movie via HDMI, the TV reported it to be 1080p as well. Didn't seem to be downscaled.

Nope, the specs state 1.2GHz Tegra3
http://www.asus.com/Tablet_Mobile/ASUS_MeMO_Pad_Smart_10/#specifications
I think it's just a difference in marketing and timing when they mention 1080p output for the Memo pad, and do not mention it for the tf300.

I've seen some review and benchmark shown the I/O is still slow. So far still no smart cover or even screen protector for this tablet. I'll wait for few more month before buying this, with the hope that some manufacturer will jump to market and throw some decent specs tablet with the price range. Sold at about USD330 here.

Did a quick Google. Seems all tf301 I found are typing errors.
Asus TF300T, CleanROM Inheritance
I sold my Asus pad 300 and bought this new Asus MemoPad 10. I like it more than Pad 300. I don't know, but in benchmark program was info about processor and showed1,3Ghz.
Stereo speakers x mono on Asus Pad 300
Charging on the left side via micro USB x bottom asus socket
Option lock toolbar x no lock on Pad 300
They could add 2GB ram, but, I think for £250 its good value.

M8 i dont know how is it in your country but here (Portugal) NFC is just rubish i had not seen a single use for NFC......
Regarding the specs
TF300x - uses Nvidia Tegra 3 T30L
Memo Pad - uses Nvidia Tegra 3 T30L
CPU stated as beeing the same speed quad core 1.2Ghz
TF300x 8 Mpixel cam
Memo Pad 5 Mpixel cam
TF300x 32 GB
Memo Pad 16 GB
Dock possibility on TF300x vs no dock on Memo pad
I still consider TF300x a better tablet, depending on the demand of users of course
If you dont need docking (for at least xtra batery life) 5 Mpixel cam (that is alredy nice) and you dont mind the 16GB (you can prob use a 64 GB microsd)on the memo pad i still consider it a very good choice
I work at PhoneHouse (Carphone WhareHouse)
I have tried the memo pad and the only thing i think its better that the TF300x is the sound, it realy looks awsome extra boost on the double stereo peakers.
But i still dont get it .... Why put the freakin speakers on the back of the tablet...........
