How to sync the Hero with WMP?

I always used to synchronize my music with WMP and now that I've got a Hero (my previous one was HTC S730), it doesn't work anymore. WMP Says:
Your device requires that this file be converted in order to play on the device. However, the device either does not support playing audio, or Windows Media Player cannot convert the file to an audio format that is supported by the device.
Any thoughts?
My entire music collection has two things which don't work on the hero:
1. Album art is WMP format (separate .jpg files for each album)
2. Artist: Artist/Featured artist/Featured artist 2 Album Artist: Artist
Every artist/featured artist combination is handled as a separate artist, while WMP mobile did a good job!
I'll have to bump..
I forgot to mention that it handles genres wrong way too. Some songs have a few genres assigned to them, example:
Pop; Pop Rock
WMP assigns that song to both genres, "Pop" and "Pop Eock", while Android player just makes a genre called "Pop; Rock".
Maybe there are some good 3rd party players on the Market (so far I couldn't find one).
Okay, I have got a solution y'all!
You don't have to ruine your library just to make it compatible with Android..
Search for a program called "MediaMonkey". Free edition DOES NOT do the job, but you can easily find a free-ed version (it's called "Gold"). I'm using version 3.1.1 Gold, which at the moment latest.
I still prefer using WMP for listening to music and I only use MediaMonkey for all the dirty job!
Just take a peek at this screenshot! It cures bad Android player, though you loose some of the data on the device - additional genres and featured artists.

Music App Survey

Hello, what's up and good morning,
we are a small project team from HTL Rennweg Vienna and like to develop an Music App for Android. The project will last a half year. We want to implement the following features:
play music from the SD card
control a MPD server remotely
a Widget and a Lockscreen Widget
Artist Information
Lyrics
Albumcover
subscribe to Podcasts
Last.fm Integration
We are asking at several Android forums, which other features are needed and used.
We are looking forward for many ideas and comments
basti & the project team
Auto-start play and stop on BT/wired headphone connect and disconnect.
Car-view with only 3/4 BIG buttons and huge album cover background.
High-quality file format support (FLAC, APE, ...).
Speed-based volume control (the faster you go, the louder it gets).
I may add some more in future...
EDIT: like I said...
HUD-like mode to have the screen reflected in windshield, maybe with actual speed and time indication... I mostly need that for car use, could you imagine? XD
I'm probably alone here, but the main thing I miss using my phone instead of my ipod as a car media player is that I can't have music videos and normal tracks in the same playlist. So if you could include support for music vids in the same playlists as other media, that'd be fantastic
Other than that - what teorouge said. Add gesture support to, so I can swipe to change tracks, and I'm sold

Would also like to see a day/night switch to automatically change skin or at least color set from light to dark, based on actual time or luminosity or both (you decide!) also for car usage improvement.
EDIT: actually don't care about...

I would love to be able to stream internet streams (over wifi)
like .m3u streams. The stock app doesn't recognise ones I have tried
Biggest issues for me would be the ability to add only specific folders to the library, a media player that scans the whole SD card and loads crap like ringtones into the list is unusable. And secondly very robust tag and album art support. I have many songs that display titles and artist fine in Foobar on my PC and all my tracks have the album art imbedded but many of these do not display correctly on my HTC Desire media player.
The feature I most need is to sort my music by "album artist" and not only by artists.

[Q] Where's the instant mix in our honeycomb music player

Here's an enlisted feature of the music player:
Create an instant mix
You can ask Music Beta to create a playlist of songs that are similar to a song you choose: an instant mix. You must be online to create an instant mix.
You can create an instant mix when you’re viewing a list of songs in your library (for example, when you’re viewing the contents of an album or playlist). If Music Beta can’t find sufficient songs that are similar, it doesn’t create the instant mix.
Where's this damn feature, I really like to try it

[Question] how to use lyric in music player

hi xda, in the p9 lite music player if you swipe left the lyric page will show up, but is it always says No lyrics, how do i add lyrics? should the lyric been already implemented on the .mp3 file or can i add it manually!?
this is a kind of weird question as i don't think many people uses the lyric tab
You need to create a .lrc file with lyrics for specific song and write timestap and lyrics inside.
Try Lyrics Lookup in the App Store
