My new nexus 7, is not booting up, It stuck on nexus logo, I cant even recover through my Nandroid backup?
What to do now?
You can flash the factory image through fast boot https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images
If you don't know how to do it search Google or xda for a guide.
Can you share link please?
I tried wug's, but I couldnt complete process, as device is not booting up!!

I tried to install a new rom after updating TWRP 2.3.0.0. after all was complete it stuck on the boot screen. I then tried with the Nexus Root Toolkit to use a restore from backup. Same problem. I then tried to flash stock and unroot. Same problem. I then tried a number of things through TWRP from backups I had their. Same problem. At present I have no OS and I can only boot into TWRP, turn if off or look at the GOOGLE screen. I have run out of ideas and would appreciate any help offered.
If you have tried everything else (flashing a ROM zip etc.) Then you should flash the factory image from Google.
Don't use the script/batch file as that will wipe your internal storage.
Just flash system and boot.

Sometimes a rom takes a long time to boot for the first time, please be very patient. Also, try wiping everything from /system, and then re install a custom rom from your /sdcard partition. also make sure your roms are for the nexus 7 not galaxy nexus or other similar devices. ONE MORE THING 4.1.2 wont flash with 4.1.1 bootloader.

I know many people hate the talk about toolkits but I was in the same situation and I used Wug's toolkit and it saved me. I downloaded 4.1.2 image directly from Google, as the toolkit only has 4.1.1.
I tried to return to stock on my own and it just went from bad to worse. I would of spent more time trying to fix it on my own but I was on a very tight time constraint. It will unroot your device but it is easy to root again.

THANK YOU the "ONE MORE THING" is all I needed to know for the same problem!
Hello
I have a problem with my Nexus 7. I tried changing my font using font changer. It rebooted and now wont boot up. It gets stuck at the X.. left it there several minutes..
I tried to do a factory reset using Stock Recovery but that didnt change things. I was on Stock 4.2.2 unlocked and rooted.
What should I try now? Obviously I can get into fastboot mode.
Thanks in Advance

Hello, I have the same problem, but when I try getting into recovery mode, all I see is a dead android with red x sign and with no other option displayed. Where do I go from here?
Also, how do you flash stock image from fastboot? Thanks in advance!

That's stock recovery. You want to be in fast boot mode for fast boot flashing.

Sorry, but how do you get into fastboot mode? I can't use any toolkit to get into fastboot mode as my pc doesn't
recognize the device because it can't get past booting up.

Stop using toolkits and start reading. There are instructions here that walk you through the entire manual process.

i'm just curious, but how come you guys are unlocked and rooted and not running a twrp or cwm recovery? if you had one of those recoveries instead of stock, a nandroid restore instead of a system image reflash would have put you back to where you were before you did the font change as long as you did a backup right before you tried doing that. highly recommend if you're gonna play around with the system, install some kind of decent recovery, not stock.

dont use a toolkit
get to a command line and figure out whats wrong by trying to flash a factory image, or run factory reset in recovery and see if it fixes it.

I tried factory reset but it fails. I tried to flash a factory image through side load but it fails.
If I go to advanced wipe and do them one at a time they all work except data.
It appears to have nothing on intrenal or external storage.
One other thing is when I try to mount the system in twrp it asks for a password?
I have never setup a password so I don't understand this.
Thanks
Did you encrypt your device?

No, not at all that's what's so strange.
I purchased it new and it started locking up and after an attempted factory reset here we are.

Factory reset would wipe data partition leaving nothing in data. Makes sense that it wouldnt let you wipe that when there is nothing there.
Try flashing a factory image from fast boot. Not from recovery.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus
Would it not have to be loaded on the device? I tried it with a tool kit and it gets to the end and fails on verification.
I don't remember what version it was so that doesn't help. I think it was 4.1.2
But not positive.

Okay seems to be a problem with twrp 2.5 as far as the password I'm downloading 2.6 now.
Use fastboot to flash new recovery and system partition. You run fastboot commands from your computer not from recovery and your device needs to be in bootloader not recovery. It does not require you to load it onto the device prior

Use nexus root toolkit to temporarily boot into recovery and wipe everything, then flash a ROM, or download a factory image from Google and run the flash-all.bat

If you need help we need more than "doesn't work".
What exactly happens? Error message? Does it flash normally but once you reboot goes into bootloop again? Be precise, I know english doesn't seem to be your first language but we need to know more

After flashing it, did you go into the stock recovery to factory wipe data before booting it up? You have to do this or else you will get stuck at the Nexus bootup screen. Happened to me once. Apparently you have to do this on the Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 because flashing it doesn't properly wipe the partition.

Hloo m.charesa,of course I wipe data, partition after flashing many times(I watched the clip in youtube does that),But unfortunately due to the nexus logo.
It seems that the problem is not to activate the USB debugging , because after opening bootloader or installing stock rom returns the device to its origin and must be activate (usb debugging) again .. Question: Is there a way to activate it without the operation the system (because its not operation originally)??

USB Debugging is only necessary if you are trying to use ADB when the phone is on and booted into the OS already. It's not necessary when you are in Fastboot mode (at the bootloader). Not sure why it's not working flashing the factory image. This is why I prefer not to use toolkits and do everything manually. That way, you know where things went wrong.
