Anybody found long press back "button to kill app"?
From his blog: "Kill app back-button : Don't kill default launcher. "
Or am I missing something.

any feedback from this rom usage??? =)

Flashed Stable release; BLN not working with TSM settings or NSTools; can't change governor in NSTools; total RAM is 343MB. Other features working fine (battery, lockscreen, statusbar, etc). Performance is on par with other JRO03L builds I've tried.
EDIT: follow advice from the post below and the issues expressed will be resolved. Thanks, slukk.

BLN is working fine with BLN Control Pro or CWM recovery / advanced / fix permission and forks fine. After that you can change NSTools governors.
I'm prefer SetCPU.

Thanks, fix permissions did the trick for changing governors. Never relied on BLN Control but I'll take your word for it.

BLN Control App on CM7

Hi,
which Kernel have I to flash to use the BLN Control App on CM7.
The App tells me, that my Kernel is noch compatible...
Thanks!
BLN is already included in Cyanogen 7, by default
Just check inside Settings
I know, but I can not configure a timeout oder night-sleep or something like this... The BLN Controll App has more preferences... Is it even possible to use this?
Its not in cm7.1.0.1 run the 7.1.0 RC. Its more stable anyways.
Or
Use francos kernel in rom manager or drew garens kernel in rom manager. Make sure you wipe delvik before flashing.

Thanks, but where can I find Kernels in ROM Manager?
With 7.1.0 RC I really can use the Control App? oO

If you are looking for a kernel for cm7 be sure to read good the posts, the second one you posted isnt a cm7 kernel. About the first one, it would meet your requerimet of using bln as they say in its features.
i used bali kernels on my tmobile vibrant and everything was peachy. id go with the bali kernel for your galaxy S
Take the glitch kernel v 13 its the best ;D

You can download other widget in the market for that. The OmegaROM is bareboned ROM as you know so many things were removed to make the ROM light.
i;m using the awesome omegav3 .. thx for this but can we have just the theme ?? .. because flashing a new rom just for theme is kinda unreasonable .. i hope you'll not misunderstand me ..

Yes. I recommend you this one if you like to use stock rom. For games, the kernel can be overclocked to max 902mhz.
But if you use wifi and 3g always, no doubt, you will lose battery fast. Using these can greatly affect any phone. But in general, the battery is quite good compared to the original stock rom.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions [FAQ]:
1. Face Unlock???
A. No Face Unlock will not be included as we don't have FFC.
2. My Phone Signal is too Low / Not reliable?
A. Please visit THIS Thread by Oxicottin for modems and pick one for your Area.Be sure to use the one's titled ICS.
3. I get assert error status '7' when installing the rom?
A. Install Glitch kernel first from CM7/MIUI, glitch doesn't check updater-script and build.prop, and will let you install the rom.
4. Deep Idle is not working an i get SOD?
A. There is an issue with our phones, and it isn't working yet. [Personally, i can confirm if you are on I9000 bootloaders, it does work, but the difference is not that big and hence is not recommended.
5. Android OS is consuming lot of battery???
A. It is not consuming lot of battery, it is a bug in 4.0.3 that displays high consumption, it has been solved in 4.0.4 and it will be implemented in this rom in the future versions.
This is totally going to be my daily driver. Thanks brother!!

Thank you very much, I have asked for help on this matter, as personally I don't use Facebook. Hopefully it will get solved sooner than later.
Swype, i will talk to Original themer Razer(x) and see if it can be done. It is not included in his base theme, so chances are slim.
Also for everyone, if Facebook sync is not working, Friendcaster can be used as an alternative, for Now.

Oh yea, definitely. Its amazing!!! I have not found a single issue yet (besides the normal ones, such as GPS >.> Fixes will be coming soon tho ) its a lot smoother than any other roms ive tested. I have not tested camera or anything else yet, but Im positive everything runs well. I have used both CM10 Alpha Preview as well (I was on 0803) and Hellybean. Ive never tested jellybro because I heard there is a lot of battery drain. AOKP is quite laggy so I havent tried that out. Anyway, IMO SlimBean has been better than both. I have not tried latest Hellybean because of all the installation issues on 0804 and 0805. I think Ill stay on SlimBean for a while. You should DEFINITELY try it out. Love it. I also made some changes in the Semaphore kernel app. With those changes + SlimBean, the ROM runs like the wind
Cool, I am currently running helly 807. Its very quick and other than standard issues (GPS, 911) its been good. My major issue though is, on cm10 preview my system ROM part had 360+/-mb. It left me almost 100mb+/-free, with helly sys ROM is 262mb leaving only 10+/-mb free. Can you open titanium backup and see how many mb's the system ROM is? Total/(free)
Thanks

Oh, and one more thing, Krarvind just put up a GPS test file in the forums to be pushed in system/lib. I hope testers can get some results for a working GPS Krarvind really works fast!

Shakey Kernels?

So I am very new here and I just managed to get a kernel to work after 2 days of hard effort lol. I am using Fraco Kernel on my Nexus 4. I tried two other kernels which are the Trinity and Matr1x kernels and when I load either of those the screen is "shakey" whenever I swipe through the pages or drawer pages and it just doesn't feel right. Please help? I delete the dalvik and cache each time I load a new rom. Any help much appreciated!
Also, for the best balance of battery saving and performance which is the best kernel? I want to UV as well to reduce heat and increase battery life slightly. And what is the best looking kernel?

are you flashing jss/jls kernels on a jwr rom? i bet you are. what rom are you running? you can go into developer options and disable hardware ovetlay, this should "fix" it. theres also a flasablefloating around the threads here that will fix your issue, so you dont have to keep disabling hardware overlays after rebooting.
and there is no best kernel. every device reacts differemtly to every kernel. whats best for me coukd be worst for you. thats why we tell people that you have to try different kernels, to find the bbest kernel for your device and your needs. its actually not even allowed to post whats the best kernel threads on xda. as every person believes that the kernel that they are running is the best, and eventually starts arguments.

I don't know what a jss/jls/jwr is... Thanks, it seemed to fix it. I will try every kernel then. Thanks so much.
So theres no best kernel, is that the same for ROMs? Should I install CM? May you link me that link regarding the disabling HW overlay please? I can't it.

heres some info on that issue http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2382880
"best" in roms/kernels on a nexus is like me saying that blue-green is the best color. and too me it is. but other will disagree with me, some will think that blue, red, yellow, green is best. and they will all be right as well. so, if we all are right, there is no best. best is what is right for you, it has everything you need, want. and it runs great on your personal device. considering that we all have different needs, wants, we all think different roms, kernels are best.

Thanks.
Well do you know how to change the color theme of the Nexus 4? I hate the cyan icons in the notification bar, I want something like white or grey. Please help?
And do you know any programs or kernels I can use to UV? I'm using the matr1x kernel and want to UV even more to keep the cpu cool and to increase battery life slightly, thanks!

You had asked about hw overlays option. That photo shows where to disable it at.

Also, matr1x makes my Nexus 4 freeze and reset randomly... it happens like once every 30 mins or so

The under volt is likely causing the freezing. If you're using JSS, then it has deadlocks that cause temporary freezes. Some kernels have deadlock patches like Neo kernel & Bcm W4.

Like I said, I don't know what JSS or any other of those are... I think I am going to stick to the Franco Kernel and I just bought the Franco Kernel Updater, but for some reason I cannot undervolt and change the min/max cpu speeds?
Any way to fix those freezes?

Jss/Jls and jwr are versions of 4.3 android. The jss freezes are fixable, but the patches aren't in all Roms or kernels.
I don't use Franco so I can't explain why the app isn't functioning. Did you flash SuperSu 1.65 yet?

Hmm, I cannot use CM with kernels for some reason, franco kernel just gets stuck in boot loop and matr1x and trinity work but upon start up its a blue and purple screen. It also somehow changed my theme to a orange color and some apps such as browser which isn't chrome for some reason is gold instead of blue...
And how do I flash supersu 1.65? THanks!

Recent GPU updates to CM prevent it from being compatible with most kernels. Supersu is flashed via recovery just like the ROM, and I haven't heard of the color issue before. Use stock cm kernel if you wanna use CM.

This is so complicated! I finally got CM working after 3 days lol and now this is happening! Please help me guys? I just want CM with a good kernel like Franco kernel then undervolt it to 1350 and have a simple theme which looks like the stock theme but instead of cyan blue icons, etc...

You flash it like a ROM. For icons you could use icon themer from play store and use xposed installer.

Thanked by mistake. Anyway icon themers uses icons from any CM10 theme from the play store, I like holo icons. Xposed is needed to use icon themer and other mods. No kernels will work with the updated cm yet.

Thank you. Do you know when kernels can work with the updated CM? And do I have to use nightly builds? I hate updating them and don't see the point in releasing them everynight for minor adjustments... Cheers!

Probably soon, but you'd be better off asking Franco specifically. Nightlies are optional.
