Click to collapse
This may be possible using BubbleUPnP
There are few threads already about this. Main problem is that even if we install
cracked SmartView-apk to N7, "Dual view"-function doesn't work, like it does in
Samsung's own devices.
Hello I'm new to the world of android but I was left to believe that all android devices had the ability to use WiFi direct but after getting the nexus 7 in the post yesterday I spent much of the night trying to get the nexus to send video to my TV and files to my Samsung galaxy s3 but all with no luck. they connected together but they just won't send files or video plus the WiFi direct icon in the drop down options is no longer there. Do I have a faulty nexus 7 or dose the nexus not have the** ability to use WiFi direct and if so will there be a fix for this problem? I no its a lot of questions but I'm stuck and I use WiFi direct a lot and I need this to work on my nexus 7 . so if anyone can help me I would be extremely grateful for your help. Thank you
AFAIK, the Nexus 7 doesn't support adhoc wifi, something to do with wpa_supplicant.
Nexus 7 needs software to support the this. Samsung wrote their own for S beam. Don't know of any third party apps that are compatible with s beam.
Check out https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.j4velin.wifidirect for one that should work.
Thanks for your help people but I have fund a fix for my problem of sending video to my TV from my nexus 7 . I remembered I payed for a app from Google play about a year ago called imediashare I had forgot I had it I did not even install it on my new phone. But last night I installed it on my nexus 7 and to my joy it worked I can now stream mp4 and avi video to my TV. I'm still looking for a way to send and receive files using WiFi direct on the nexus 7 but it I find one I'll post it here. If someone else finds a way to do it please let me know here thanks
HI guys,
I just wanna know, how can i connect my device to tv?
Is there wired connection? what about wireless connection?
What are the things i need?
For example, my tv is Samsung LED Series 5?
What are the things i can do after connecting:
- can i access my device as a storage device?
- can i play a movie to my device and have it displayed in my tv?
Thanks in advance
With the app Mediahouse (pro) you can stream movies from your tablet to you tv (netwerk).
you can choose to stream content to your tablet of from your tablet to your tv (if i'm correct)
New or old n7? This is easily found anywhere online. Old n7 can't mirror it's screen to the TV except with a mod for miracast (this mod is new). This mod doesn't work on 4.3 yet and requires supported hardware on the TV too.
What does work is dnla or upnp, which sends local media to the TV - movies, music, photos that are stored locally not streamed. Many apps support this and lots of hardware does too.
New n7, you can use slim port cable to mirror the screen
Sent from my HTCONE using xda app-developers app
I have the old one, there is no something like adapter, converter, cable that can connect the device to the tv? i cant seem to find any on mr. google, and yeah i saw that the new nexus 7 is capable of that, thanks
Chromecast may solve your problem if you can get your hands on one.
PA 3.94 Nexus 7
I've pluged a pendrive on my Nexus 7 and used a USB OTG app to try to find the content but it cannot find anything. I've been reading some older threads that state USB OTG only works on rooted Nexus 7. Is this true? I'm sick and tired of having root devices whenever I want to use a basic function. Can anyone confirm?
Nexus Media Importer allows it without root... https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.homeysoft.nexususb.importer
There's a free app to check it will work too... https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.homesoft.otgtroubshooter
Nexus Player arrives next week, I'm hoping someone can tell me if FoxSoccer2go and Amazon App work? And if so how do you load them onto the Nexus Player.
Thanks
Amazon works but you will need an otg cable and some kind of mouse for it as it is made for touch devices. The other I do not know on.
