If I'm in USA and want to buy HTC HD from UK site (e.g. expansys.com) and have it shipped to me in USA .... should I look at
VAT included price of £524.99 or VAT excluded price of £446.80 ?
I understand I can buy from expansys-usa.com, but generally speaking ?
No. You dont have to pay VAT if you are getting it shipped from Europe to the US address. I just bought the Touch HD from one of the UK sites with out VAT.

Thanks copualt3. I looked at clove's site. I did the conversion. It came up to $616.98 total Is this how much you paid for it? Why is expansys charging damn near $200.00 dollars more?

So it might not be as accurate as I thought. But I went to clove and set up shipping and everything. Got the total amount and went to that convertor. Thats what it came up with.

I also ordered from Clove and was to receive the phone Monday am, but today received an Email from FedEx that there was a delay. Clove needed to send them more info.
"A complete Telecommunications Form is required" is what caused the delay.
That may be a customs thing. I forwarded to Clove and hopefully they can quickly fix this.

Go check that converter again, I don't think you selected "GBP United Kingdom Pounds".

You have to ask your own Indian government how much they will charge you. It has nothing to do with the UK.

I odered mine from expansys (UK site) on Nov. 10th. No VAT, no CA sales tax, no custom forms, HD was shipped via DHL and was here on Thursday, Nov. 13. This time frame included a little hassle, as expansys USA took over (actually wanted to) and I told them I want it shipped directly from the UK. USA price was quite a bit higher, I think $799 phone only.

I ordered mine from handtec.co.uk for $706 USD total.
I ordered it on an Friday and received it on the following Wednesday, 4 working days. They ship via Fedex so Fedex called me then emailed the FCC form.

A bit of a hassle as Handtec only takes Google checkout for payment. They weren't proactive on providing a tracking number but I spoke to them on the phone and they were very responsive. All in all a good experience.

Sony is said to be shipping X1a to retailers (best buy) starting Dec. 1st. So 7th should be somewhat accurate. As for the 799.99 price tag, I would probably hold off and look at other retailers, specifically online for a much lower price than a big box store. Case and point... HTC touch diamond US version (GSM) sells in bestbuy stores for 699.99, online its 549.99. I wouldn't be surprised to see the X1a sell for around 600 dollars at online sellers (mobilecityonline etc.)
Still, expect them to show up around the same time.
Has anyone else who ordered from the motorola online store received their product or at least a tracking number??? I ordered mine on the 25th of feb and they just told me on the phone it hasn't even been shipped yet due to a shipping error!!! WTF! Not impressed because after it ships from motorola I've then gotta get it shipped to Australia. Looks like I'm not gonna have it for a while.

In fact you'll probably get it faster ordering from Handtec in the UK than you would Newegg even unless you pay for overnight shipping. I'm in the US and both of my orders from Handtec were shipped and delivered the next day by FedEx.
