Try out one click root. Its very easy...... I'm using the oICS Rom and its been pretty good thus far

Shabbys one click root worked for me . I used cwm recovery then I flashed twrp which is fine for me.
I crack flash but I haven't been on gingerbread since November . So the rom is your choice. Also math kids kernels are great so is that new speedy kernel

so there's no bootloader or anything like that
Not sure about to be honest but obviously doesn't matter at the moment. all I needed to do is root and install cwm

There is not much need to install another ROM really. I mean, I too love custom ROMs but to he honest, the ROM that comes in with the G2 is really good, lighting fast, smooth and customizable.
The only thing you'll need to do will be to remove any bloatware Verizon has pre-installed.
On the T-Mobile version there's only one custom ROM (basically a clean version of the stock)
There has been not much dev activity yet, but I hope to see improvements soon, specially once the N5 comes out. So they say.
Cheers!
I have the AT&T G2, but I highly recommend TWRP recovery. I had always used CWM prior to this device, too, but I'm not sure if you have to add the Loki exploit to bypass the bootloader with CWM. TWRP has the exploit built in as best I can tell.

Hello Guys, I heard about LG to update the camera apk to 4.3.1 and fix about every problem the camera had.
Some of you received this update?
And if so, where can we find an apk of it?
Thanks a lot!
Hi,
Take a look here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2548974.
Only the Korean versions received this update if I remember right.

Hi,
Yes the one in the link above is modified.
Stock 4.3.1 camera app: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2525783.
Hey, I'm trying to install these apks but it fails to install... Do I have no choice but to root and flash them? Can't I just install the apks?

I've just got my phone today. I know about the camera issue but I have the original 4.3.1 camera apks/zip file. I tried installing apk but failed... Is there no way to install it? I don't want to root just yet...

You could use adb to push the files , altrough you would have to "semi root"

@xdafoundingmember, I downloaded and tried to sign the apk... However when I tried pushing, it said incosistent certficates.. Since this is a system app, what type of certificates do you need? I've tried the auto but fail fail... grrrrrrrrrrrrr.....
Yea that's true. ... just push it if your rooted

I'm not rooted and don't want to just yet... Does anyone know if this update comes with the D802c update?
+1
Ok I'm going to root but not install custom recovery.. I know you can move the files into system folder using root explorer but where do I move all of the files (apks, libs etc)??
Sent from my LG-D802 using xda app-developers app
Would like to no the same?
Sent from my LG-D800 using xda app-developers app
You push apk's into system/app and libs into system/lib but you have to find a way to clear dalvik cache and cache so that when you reboot android system will read all apps and create. dex files for them to work and without custom recovery I don't know if any other app would do without any problems.

you can use the rom prvided upstairs, to install this rom, you need install the latest virson(Version 2.7) of TWRP recovery, I used to install by using CWM recovery, every APP crashed when restart.
