Suggest clearing cache in recovery if that doesn't work a fresh install (backup first remember).

I don't actually get the problem here... But if you want to clear app data then go to settings - applications and open the list of your installed apps and choose the app you want and there is a button to clear app data/cache if there is any. If you want to get rid of general update notifications just uncheck the box from market settings.
Still why won't you just update them?
Boot to recovery and wipe cache and davlik cache.

It's kinda difficult to wipe all app data without wiping the apps themselves. If you do factory reset, you will wipe all of your apps.
If I were you, I would go for flash FULL-WIPE.zip + flash full ROM + manually installing all apps again.

u8800-cm7-111107 GTalk force close whenever I try to exit chat

Hello, everyone;
I've been using CWM recovery 4.0.0.5 and u8800-cm7-111107 ROM for the past few days; everything runs fine except GTalk.
GTalk almost always FC's whenever I try to exit chat. I've tried to wipe data/cache, Dalvik cache and reinstall the ROM, but to no avail.
I've searched the forums and found a couple of similar descriptions, although on other devices and while using video chat functionality.
Are there any other procedures one might do to clear this issue out?
Thanks in advance
Have you tried fixing permissions in recovery?

Tried but the FC persists. Thank you for the suggestion.
After trying a couple of ROMs more, and getting back to this one, the problem went away, although I have no idea why.
Case closed.

Wifi Error

When I try to use my wifi on CM 7.1 stable it just says error everytime I turn it on. So I tried to wipe everything again and reflash and that still didn't fix it. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

Try wiping cache and dalvik n try it or try to reflash different kernel .or just the stock kernel 4 cm you may also of got a incomplete download. Did you maybe restore part of a old OS instead of just apps also?

This answer was given to me by "teh roxxorz." This has nothing to do with your rom or kernel, do this:
Back up everything into Titanium Backup
Boot into recovery
wipe cache, Dalvik, and pretty much everything
reflash your rom, kernel and gapps (or if you would like to check out some other roms and kernels just click on the link in my sig)
once you've set up your phone download Titanium Backup from the market
in titanium backup restore all your apps ONLY!!! (don't get apps w/ data - only get apps, and do not get system data)
after this your wifi should be working just fine
p.s. if you would like to find out more about aosp roms/kernels check the link in my sig ^_^
The strange part is I restored nothing at all. It was a fresh start I will see if that works.

[Q] triple ringtones after CM7

hi all.
after (one click root), (unlocking bootloader), (installing rom manager and CWM), (flashing CM7) ... and realizing the full potential of this device, (previosly on (2.3.4 4.5.91 AT&T) - i find in settings/sound/phone ringtone list every ring tone is triple. is this something normal? or i have done something wrong. it was my first time flashing a rom.
any idea?
and something else... how do i uninstall apps that came with CM7. actually all those apps are amazing. but some of them i dont use. like "torch"
a big thank you for devs.
and sorry if this is posted in the wrong thread.

Factory reset, when going from a factory rom to cm it is best to factory reset, I do and everything seems good, but of course when upgrading cm version you won't need to factory reset. Be sure to back up all your apps, factory reset then restore your apps. When I restore apps I restore app only and not the data. If you restore the data and get problems factory reset again and restore app only.

Cm7 and CyanogenMod settings

Install on the original stock rom went fine, but I can't use CyanogenMod settings as it FC's each time.
Any idea why?

Boot into TWRP, factory reset, wipe /system, install CM7, reboot. It should work now. It's probably just bad data, or cruft on /system.
[SOLVED]cm7 and Cyanogenmod settings
Obvious. I cleaned everything befor a new install; No more FC's.
