Since I received my N7000 on November 17, 2011 from Mobilecityonline my Galaxy Note won't update. It's running UBKK2 - the CSC is TTT - which a Brazilian CSC.
I've searched every thread and correctly followed every step of the process I've found unsuccessfully, I've tried the manual update and receive "no update available" every time I read about a new firmware release. The CSC is listing only 3 codes; VNO, TTT, and TDR - I installed each one of these CSC codes in an attempt to prompt a software update to no avail. I haven't even gotten the update from January that provided the addition of the Torch & everything that came with it!
Short of rooting my Note is there anything I can do to either change the CSC Code to one that receives updates regularly or manually update the firmware? I thought I'd wait until ICS became available hoping that would correct these issues but I'm slowly getting PO'd that I may not be even to receive ICS.
Plus I didn't/don't see the reason to have rooted by now - I've rooted all of my Android devices from HTC EVO 4G's & 3D's, Nook Color, to Asus Transformers. Is there anything I can do without rooting this beast and will I even receive Ice Cream Sandwich?
I'm begging for help please. I'd sincerely appreciate ANY help and I'm willing to donate to anyone that will help achieve everything I'm missing out on to date.
Thank you in advance,
Jim G.
If keeping it stock is all you want, just download one of the stock firmwares and flash it with odin.
You may have to be a member to see this link but.....
http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=3&t=1&o=1&m=GT-N7000&r=6#regiona
^^^
They are the South Amercian firmwares currently out, but the European ones are newer if you want to try those.
Wow that was fast!
Wow! Thank you for the super fast reply. Can I D/L and use any stock firmware, I was hoping to use either the UK or German versions cuz they look like they get updates more often than the rest. If I'm wrong I stand corrected - could you please point out a version to use or am I stuck using the BZ version forever?
Oh Lord I hope not! * Forgive me - I saw you suggested the EU versions after I hurried to reply, my fault! *
Again, Thank You in advance,
Jim G.
Brazil Note.
I too have a Note with a ROM from Brazil. Since this is my first Android phone and I'm a noob so far, what will it take to get mine over to a euro one. Will this brick my phone? What region do you recommend for a US user? I understand that you meant Europe, but there a lot of choices like open, open euro or open germany or europ or german. Any directions or advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
flshing a firmware for another region is fine... I offen just update to whereever has the newest update
But if i update to a stock rom from another country without changing csc, will i be able to update via kies whenever a newer csc update gets release online for my country? I got this ideia it wont be possible and will still need to change it again via Odin. It bother me if it wipes my phone each time i update. Still in kka/5 here with unlocked phone...

After updating to another regions ROM, You can just Odin back to the original stock ROM if you really wanted to, to restore KIES function for the original configuration.
But to be honest, the only time I ever have, is just for warranty purposes, I don't touch kies in any shape or form, there really is no need.
The way I work is, I like to use the stock ROMs, but rooted etc... So, when I got the phone, I rooted it, put the ClockWorkMod Recovery (CWM) on and now I just update my ROM with the repacked stock versions made to be flashed with CWM. They are exactly the same ROMs but rooted and deodexed, some I "believe" are multi CSC too.
Swyped from my finger, to your face on my Samsung Galaxy Note, using Tapatalk!
Thank you for all the help! I'm choosing to use the open-Germany (DBT) stock ROM cuz I've been keeping track of the ROM that was updated the most. I found it to be the German and UK versions but it seems the open-German edges it out.
I've got it all D/L'd and am actually waiting to get my notebook up and running after a CPU upgrade. Once I receive the thermal paste updating my Beast is the 1st order of business!
It sucks that the UBKK2 firmware never allowed any kind of an update, it makes me wonder if I'd even get the ICS update when it's released on March 15 or shortly thereafter. Of course that's according to the rumor mill and I'm simply referring to that since the SGSII's received their ICS earlier today according to SanFirnware.
So who knows? Again, I thank everyone fir their help and input.

possibly brazil ....if you do want ics just flash it...odin and the new open germany rom... i have 3 notes... (black) uae, (white) spain, and (pink) france... all are running open germany ics.. its a stock rom so its not going to take away your warranty... if you flash...just follow the directions and all will be fine... if youre unsure...ask before you flash...
if i flash it to the German ROM, will i be able to get OTA updates like i bought the phone NEW ? or i have to do everything manually ? and do i have to root my phone?
Bump ! please i need to know ASAP as i want to change the ROM of my Note...
I have heard on good authority that the new ICS will be launched tomorrow!!! However if it does not come out please check this post again for the latest updates. GOOD LUCK!!!

Just upgraded from my trusty old Galaxy s i9000 (which I must have flashed over a 100 times in the last two years!) Only had the note a few days, with a Ballistic case I can almost use it with one hand lol!
I miss my ICS rooted phone, I will wait for the official update at least until the warranty to expires. I jumped in and did a plain root last night though, at least the market is open.......
Kies reports as PDA:KK2 / PHONE:KK1 / CSC:KK2 (TTT)
so do you think my stock ROM is good or the EU one is better ?
I flashed Open Europe LC1 GB and then ICS LPY, but with the bricking issues, im back to LC1 safely.

My experience, two galaxy's GT9000T One I rooted and flashed modded bricked and basically kicked the crap out of it......still works great, I gave it to my youngest daughter. My other one was left untouched, Kies still updates all the official roms on it and it to still works great, but no ICS...
With this warning....

And having just forked out almost $700.00 bucks for a Note, (2 year contract) I think I can wait a little bit longer for the official release!
i am not going to flash to the ICS, i just want to know if my stock Brazil ROM is good or the EUROPE is good ?
Not much of a difference. Battery is about the same.

Made it yesterday. No Problems at all. Came from CM9, flashed Stock HC, wiped cache and made a factory reset 3x. Finally flashed UK 7510 Version. Works well, apart from touchwize
It should. Since any other P7510 ROM, official and custom, works on the P7511 this shouldn't be any different.
So the p7500 firmware should also work on my p7501?

I think this should work also, due to the fact that the editions 7501 and 7511 are just reworked because of patent issues. If i'm not failling here.
Another question i got atm, will it be necessary to flash the final german edition once it will be avaivable? I mean, for what reason are there different firmware versions for the countries, if there wont be some differences in there...
And second, is it wrong to flash the future german version over the now existing UK edition, without wipe. Or is this absolutely necessary?

I think one side effect will be that About tablet ---> Model number = 7510 Not 7511 like every custom rom.
Maybe the difference in firmwares is a Samsung thing to locate their tabs.
If you flashed the British rom and you got no problems I don't think it's necessary to flash the German one.
British accent way cooler than German

The differences are normally to do with the bundled software, if you take the release for the 7500 for example, there is extra software specific to Italy in the hidden.img post of the ROM, but none for the other parts of Europe.
Certainly, if they come out roughly the same time, it's unlikely they will have differences that affect performance or stability.
I won't be switching ROMs when they release the 7500 ROM in the UK as there really won't be any need.

I did it. I flashed the P7500 version via odin on my P7501. It works perfect. Even german language was activated on first boot, so I didn't need to switch.
So I think, if the uk version for p7510 is working on your P7511, there's no need to install a special german version.
Sent from my HTC One S using xda app-developers app
Allright then, will keep my little bobby with the uk version until a stable jb rom is available. Performance is as i know it allready from ics, but without crashes and so on. And the accent sounds really royal to me.
I also flashed the british rom to my P7511 and after 3 hours everything works fine
It's strange to see Samsung has not made official p7511 firmware (not even in Kies software) and you all have reported the p7510 firmware has no problems at all.
Perhaps p7511 is too small to make a new firmware for it, and thus less interest for Samsung.
Somehow Samsung is a bit stupid... Do they hate p7511 because Apple lawsuit in Germany?
I just got p7511 here with 64GB storage. Will use British p7510 firmware.
There are two sites knowning for firmwares:
- Samsung-updates.com
- Sammobile.com
Which one do you trust more or are both indeed trusted?
File size:
SU version: 430.651.652 (SFV: 196B54B5)
SM version: 430.650.477 (SFV: 17D3D859)
Not identical zip files, thus repacked zips.
The files inside are indentical in both zips.
For whoever might be interested.
It is available since yesterday Sept.12th an OTA update to 3110 GTAB 2 7.0
Can be found on Sammobile firmwares. Select appropriate Type, OS, model, and select "To 10 latest" on the country list.
Scroll all the way down to "OTA FILES" section of the page.
Haven't dowloaded nor tested yet, therefore cannot answer first impression questions.

I saw it but there is no country information.
Have you tryed it ?
I have not downloaded, nor tried yet.
Will probably not do that. Firmwares distributed as OTA on Sammobile are often preview, unstable versions, taht could be one reason why it has no country associated.
I shared this piece of information because an official kies release could be near, and I know that many of us are eagerly expecting JellyBean on our tablet.

Actually, it isn't. Hmmmm
OTA what does not have country in the list contain next regions: BTU, DBT, ITV, KOR, XEF, XEO, XEU (It is can be applied as well on the 4.0.4 BTU, tested by me )
Also there published OTA for Malaysia which contain these regions: GLB,MM1,SIN,SMA,STH,THL,XEV,XME,XSE,XSP,XTC,XTE,XXV
This leak need the P3110XXBLH2 PDA version.
And I see that for France the latest firmware is P3110XWBLI1.
But there is another leak on samfirmware that will install a P3110XXBLH2 PDA version. But it need the original stock firmware without any update even official ...
It looks weird to me.
What do you think about ?
What firmware must I install to install the leak and have jelly bean ?
Thank you.

I guess that this release is directly derived from the OTA Firmware for the P3100 Tablet, which was released some days ago and is told to run perfectly also on P3110 models.
In fact, what I believe is that this is a test made purposedly with the intent of allowing P3110 to get the P3110OXACLI or P3110OXACLI3 pda's over the air.
The version number you see in the device properties screen is taken from the ro.build.PDA key in the "build.prop" file which is distributed along with every ROM.
No doubts that the final version will have this value updated to match the actual tablet model.

Hello.
I have a German unbranded device.
Since I did not want to wait for Samsung I installed the update myself by getting the already released version they seed in Italy since a few days.
Almost the same. Lte and German Sim card working, everything like if is supposed to. I think installing the Italian update is not a problem.
Works like a charm. Much faster then before. Some screens are following. I can recommend it to everyone that doesn't want to longer. St least for me there's is no problem.

Is your device a T715 or T715Y? Does it even make any difference? I have a T715Y (imported from China, I think) and have downloaded the Nougat ROM (which is noted as being for T715 (but not specifically fore the T715Y) from Sammobile and tried installing it using Odin 3.12 but it fails. I also tried using Odin 3.11 which also fails. Both ran as Administrator.
Current ROM Build Number is T715YDXU2BPJ1
Can anyone give me some idea of where I might be going wrong?

I think you need a rom for your device (https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-T715Y/).
For me the update with the italian version worked great and I now have a german-austrian-italian S2
I have sm t 715 without y. Differences between the both devices I don't know but I'd suggest you wait until the proper firmware is release for your device. As far as I see there is no android 7 rolled out four your device.
Any ETA on Android 7.0 for the real SM-T715Y? Does anybody know anything?
I got the SM-T710 XSA Nougat update some time ago now. But I bought the 4G version off Gumtree and it is still stuck with 6.0.1 which means the lowlife carriers are probably halting the updates.
It is disgusting. With carrierless Samsung Galaxy smartphones, Samsung waits for the carriers in XSA region to start to release their crapware, before they release the official Samsung firmware. I do not know if this occurs in other regions.
FYI, the SM-T715Y is the real Tab S2. The SM-T715 has very few firmware regions and was probably made for dodgy countries with outdated cell towers. Look them up on sammobile.com/firmwares
Thanks people!
