Ripping of side buttons with tight cases? - Galaxy S III General

Putting on snap on cases, how do i put them on without ruining the side buttons? I think the reason my volume rocker is loose is puting on and of my krusell colorcover..

Use softer cases or stop taking off the case.

Choice would be to expand the slots or soften them and that increases the risk of the phone falling out of the case .

On a swedish droid forum a member gave me a smart way of putting on these kinde of cases with an credit card. Have not tested it yet but.. My volume rocker is abit loose should i be worried? Its not that loose but im afraid it will just pop of.

Anyway you do it, there is still small chances you will ruin the volume rocker. If you stop taking off your case, you can stop worrying about the volume rocker

I use this case from best buy. It is probably the lightest and thinnest case for this phone.

I know it is expensive, but I got it for free and that is why I am using it.

When I put or take off my case I try to start from one of the bottom corners then work my way up then snap it on the other bottom corner and work my way up although it's such a pain to take off it always feel like I'm gonna break the glass..

How is the back of your phone?

I am really enjoying my Aria. However, the back doesn't fit just right. It can flex back & forth. It just doesn't feel solid. I've owned HTC phones before & the build quality is usually tight. So, is this an issue w/my phone or is yours a bit 'squishy' too?

Mine is slightly loose at the top and squeaks when moving it. Probably happened from sticking my nail in there so many times to remove the cover.
Mine too. This is a design flaw. Damn.

it is a design flaw... I got 2 Arias and both are the same, once you remove the cover more than 1 time.. it will become that way... what I did was to put a little piece of paper on that corner and there is no play what so ever...

ya i've used that trick on every phone i've owned, works like a charm
Aha -- interesting! I never thought of a little paper shim. Thanks for the advice.
I was just wondering about this the other day. I guess I will try the paper trick.
I also have a squeaky back cover, as well as my volume up button being a little hard to press.. Where exactly would I put a little piece of paper?!
Thanks!

I wrapped the yellow edge inside the phone with scotch tape creating a very tight seal that is invisible

Interesting. Did you cover the bumps that hold the back cover on as well?

AHA, the little piece of paper on the corner did the trick, thanks for the tip!
I'm lucky I suppose. I've taken my back cover off dozens of times and there's no play at all.

Power button disturbing noise

Hey guys,
Got my N4 for a wile now and I love it (you should try AOKP + Franco's kernel BTW, give me two day of battery life, all settings stocks).
So the only problem com from the power button sometime it rattles a little. When I placing the phone on a table for example.
Even with the diztronic TPU case it makes that sound, this make the phone look ships.
Any body experience that or know how to deal with it?

Does a little rattle kill you?
Install this when it's ready, forget there's a power button.

I'm guessing by "ships" you meant cheap? The phone isn't exactly expensive. That's no excuse for a button to rattle, but still...

Bent screen

No I do not own a flex
Anyway when I put it screen down on a flat surface and touch the corners it starts rocking.
How to describe better.
One finger on left upper, one on the right down corner and touching once up once down. (Or the opposite corners, has to be diagonal)
If you have the same issue, your should feel it.
It does not distort the screen, but not sure it won't get worse in the future.
Anyone else encountered this?

I have this but it's because I manually replaced my screen and did not have something to put in so t wouldn't rock but since I use a case that covers the bezel it's not a problem

In my case it's the glass that's bent. Not like it's lifted, but deformed. Not sure how it really happened. Maybe the original quick window cover... or just having it in my pants

Maybe heat? or probably sat on it that made one side of the screen cave in? lol
Always have it in the front more like the heat... btw I would not even notice it.. just by accident I tapped one corner and it was not touching the table...

dropped my phone, now there's a screen Crack. What options do I have for cheap repair or replacement?
I didn't sign up for any insurances or warranty and now I feel really dumb.
If its ONLY the putter screen and not the digitizer. It should only cost you about $20-30 bucks on eBay or amazon for the screen and the tools you will need. You will need at least a blow dryer to loosen up the adhesive. A heat gun would be preferred. If it's the digitizer it will run you about $100.

For a first timer it can be. It takes about 30 mins to do. Once you get the hang of it its about 15 mins. There are yougube vidwos. Be sure you start from the ear peice side because the menu amd back button have wires running to them. If uou break them youre SOL.

Any recommendations for a place to buy the glass? or just a product to buy? Found a couple on AMazon
Here in TN, there are places everywhere to fix and replace busted screens.
A quick (and I mean quick) Google search of cell phone repair in Minneapolis turned up a bunch of results on Yelp.
http://www.yelp.com/search?cflt=mobilephonerepair&find_loc=Minneapolis,+MN
I replaced the screen on my son's Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, it wasn't too hard but it is risky. If you don't want to take the risk I would recommend going to a repair place, that way if they break something while trying to fix it is their problem.

Magnet placement in Slide Case

Does anyone know where the magnets are inside the slide case? Or even in the Tegra Note itself? Would love to try a DIY project, honestly can't bring myself to pay $30 for a cover that only protects the screen just because it has a few magnets in it.
Magnets are in the tablet. Get a piece of steel (like a pin) and see where it sticks to the tablet.

Well yes, I will do that when mine is delivered tomorrow fingers crossed lol.
I was just looking for something to keep me busy while I wait lol
