First of all, CFX hasn't been updated in ages because Lalit's Blade broke and he's only developing for Skate now so use KonstaKANG's CM9 instead (that is what Lalit, the developer of CFX recommends too).
If you head over to Modaco you'll find that there is a TPT for KonstaKANG made by the dev himself so it's the best one there is for the rom.
Here's the link to the thread: http://www.modaco.com/topic/355059-romgen2388-cyanogenmod-9-konstakang-android-404/
I find that i always run out of space for data so i just use S2E with a 1GB ext partition.
Alright ill try it out right now! thanks

hi
I have an iconia a500 with stock rom 3.2 A500 7.006.01 com gen1 that it is not rooted
i want install a custom rom that can be root and that dont have problem with 3g modems
please tell me which one is best with persian or arabic language support
thx
knock . Knock.. knock
Anybody here?
"Best" is a loaded word... it really gets down to what is important to you in terms of how you use the device. Some folks really like the Samsung touch Wiz interface, so they go for ROMS that feature it. Some really want to use 3G modems, so they go for ROMS that support them. Some want speed, some want a clean interface and so on. It's very difficult for anyone to declare what's "best" for you. My suggestion is to load ROMS and try them. You'll get a feel for the different approaches and emphasis different ROM's have and from there you'll find one you like.
Best is a loaded question, my best might be your worst. It would be better to figure out what you're trying to do then look for that solution.
Lightspeed is best

LOL... okay, I can't tell you what's best, but for me, right now, the best is the Thor 14.2 rom overclocked with setcpu. It's super fast, everything works... it's great. And I will stay on it forever... or, until something new comes along

Root the stock one and uninstall what you don't need.

Don't Uninstall apps (unless ROM Creator says it's ok - like not installed in System/data)
FREEZE them with Titanium Backup!

thanks a lot
did u have any problem whit google map?
are u use 3g modem by this rom?
Lightspeed ROM, use a thor kernel and setcpu to overclock, everything will be lightning fast. OFC install thor's rom if you want it preloaded with a few apps (and a couple of games if i'm not wrong). Byakyee (or something like that) was also a pretty good rom. Maybe you could also try the ICS ROM thor has, although a few things, like camera, don't work, else I really prefer ICS to HC, so that's what I use.
Hi friends.
First, I want to praise this forum ... that is fantastic!
My question is about the currently ROMs for my milestone 2...
I want to flash my ML2 with another ROM, to get a better experience with the battery life...
What ROM is the better choice?
- Argen2Stone 2.7
- CM7
- TIM Retail 2.3.6
- MIUI 2
- Others.... ?
Thanks again guys!
I test all these roms, personally I prefer CM7 of Tezet + the update of Endless7
Lose the video recording at 720p, but it works great.!!
It depend on your version of MS2. I have problems with gps in cyanogen's rom, so i'am using ms2ginger 2.1. It's perfect, everything's working, but it have shorter battery life. My friend have older revision of MS2, he had serious problems with keyboard and multitouch, but Endless7 cm7 runs perfectly on his phone.

YES!
+1 for that rom .
It's pity, there's no Endless7's update for latest Tezet's CM7
Guys, I tried flash my phone with CM7 times ago....
I first flash the SO with "update-cm-7.1.0-DROID2WE-signed.zip"
After this I apply "gapps-gb-20110828-signed.zip"
All using Bootmenu.
But, the phone doesn't boot... the screen stay black and nothing happends....
After this, I recovery to 2.2 TIM RETAIL...
Can you post a link with a better tutorial for me?
Thanks!

May sound stupid, but allthough the milestone 2 and droid to appear to be the same phone, they are not the same phone.
Main difference is one is cdma (no sim - droid 2) and other is gsm (has a simcard - milestone2)
No method will ever get a droid 2 rom working on your milestone 2.
EDIT:
(moved to start of rant) If you have upgraded to the official gingerbread you can only use CM9, CM7(endless7), argen2stone. Just the ones with the GB kernel.
But as for other roms all roms, the choices are:
CM9: Not finished but quite stable now and a great look into ICS certainly work having a try of it. Uses GB kernel so no multitouch bug.
CM7 (tezet version): Stable, good, fast, has multitouch bug due to froyo kernel
CM7 (endless7 version/defy port): Not much difference from tezet version, but some added bells and whistles. Also uses the CH gingerbread kernel, so no multitouch bug and better touch response. I'd recommend this version personally, but it's all a matter of opinion. Also both versions show all market apps regardless of compatibility - can be handy if you wanna take advantage of a great sale knowing you can just use it when it is patched for your device or you upgrade. Or if you can tweak some stuff enough to trick it into working.
MIUI: Simply wonderful. Most stable one i have used. At first i hated the iphone likeness of it - but you can install a custom launcher if you wish. I got used to it though and ended up loving it once I tuned it to how i liked it - 1 screen with several folders and a clock widget the themes are great. It also uses the froyo kernel, so unfortunately has the multitouch bug. So i had to leave it
Argen2Stone: Pretty close to stock so if you liked the stock firmware but not it's slowness you will probably like this. Simply wasn't for me but for the time i used it, it was quite stable. Uses the CH gingerbread kernel though, so no multi touch bug here too . OH and is one of the few that has 720p video recording working I think.
I can't really remember ms2ginger and i have never tried blurless, so I won't comment on them.
Moral of the story, you can count the amount of roms we have available on you hand so why not get them all, and try them 1 day at a time?
They are all great roms and far better than stock was, so you can't really go wrong. No one here can possibly tell you what you like so you will just have to test them yourself soon enough and find out

Pretty cool review about all the custom roms, DreadPirateDan! With a bonus information at last paragraph, wich made it worth all the "extensive" reading lollollol
lolll, good point - edited it to the beginning

+1 me too great works of tezet and endless7
ive used Argen2Stone 2.7 ..its a really good rom.
now im using CM9 by tezet.
My vote goes for tezet's CM7, because I like more that clean CM7 than endless' mod.
i think CM7 of Tezet is the best.
I'm voting for MIUI - but I understand if someone don't like it due to it's quite bad touch responsiveness.
I want to shar my experience with you. I used all the rom you listed except "tim retail 2.3.6".
I'm now using A2S and UK 2.3.4 kernel. It has the perfect experience whatever daily use or game playing. But it has the shorter battery life(the same as cm7 or may be a little longer).
I often got reboot when i using cm7 especially when i entering games.
MIUI has the different style from other android roms. It also based on cm kernel, if you are boring with the original android UI ,you may try this rom. But this rom has the shortest battery life even less than CM7, and has the slow reflex when you have incall.
Sorry for my terrible English.

CM7 for me.. even if it doesn't have 720p recording it is battery friendly.. i like argen2stone but the only thing i dont like on this rom is blur UI.. they should have remove the UI because it eats too much ram >.<
So I am currently running stock ICS on my A500 and was thinking of putting a 3rd party rom on it. Currently the OEM rom is fine, only 1 issue and that is, its not mounting usb when connected to my computer...
But thats another time, for now I would like to get some opinions on some current roms for our device. I want something that is: fast, lightweight, everything must work. Thats basically it, pretty easy, I dont ask for much
So just doing a quick search, I found 3 roms that look pretty popular and fit most of my requirements. A fourth would be stock ICS (current rom).
~~Taboonay_3.0.1~~ Link
~~Lightspeed_4.7~~ Link
~~Flexreaper_4.0.3~~ Link
The flexreaper rom I picked also has no games installed, Extreme edition.
My recommendation would be Flexreaper ;]

I suggest a moped...
From your selection I`ll recommend FLEXREAPER too and maybe the extreme version because you are all ready on ICS bootloader.
But personal, means with full hearth, I recommend tegraowners ICS ROM v168! This ROM has a lot more options then FLEXREAPER f.e. USB modem support for a500.
m.
AOKP officially supports the A500 too, but I don't think their ROM is complete.
I'm running Flexreaper with the latest ICS bootloader = OVERCLOCKING. So the speed is there, lots of crap has been stripped out of the ROM and there is nothing that I know of that doesn't work.
The Tegraowners ROM has a lot of extra features that the ROMS on here don't have but if you also read the thread there are a lot of people who have problems here and there for it. I've tried it. It's slick but I fell Civ's is just as good and he is more helpful to the XDA community.
Well Civato is definitely a great guy , but Thor is very helpful not only to this community but many more , XDA thwarts progress in many ways (i wont go into the thor deal) ,but I wouldnt suggest one over the other , they are both outstanding and we are lucky to have the "few" devs for a500 that we have , I remember a bout a year ago there was twice as many ,xda seems to run alot of these guys out for what ever reason (not my problem) ! Your gonna get complaints from whatever rom you choose , I would suggest reading the OP for the rom and then re-reading it often ,your less likely to have problems that way!
We have many talented devs in here !
I've been running various versions of Flexreaper for a while now, and I really like it. I tried taboonay for a while, but Flexreaper worked better for me. I also love having the Acer ring. I don't know how many ROMs have that, but its handy for sure. Civato (Flexreaper Dev) is putting out new stuff all the time, too.
Have tried them all. Personnaly flexreaper has been the best for me. As long as you do a full wipe before installing and have the correct bootloader installed. The best thing to do is check them out yourself. I stayed away from betas and test builds until I learned restore and recovery techniques, as I locked up my tablet the first time I flashed a new rom.
Hello, android users. I currently have a motorola defy android 2.2 with motoblur, im rooted. I dislike the slowness of my phone which makes me mad. So I read if you rom you android device its gonna be faster? Plus does the rom I want get installed on phone memory or sd card? I tried roming and I get to the android sign and road sign I click 2 volume bottons I get a list of oppsitions which one do I pick? How do I select it? And press it? Will my phones id or other things change? Does the android market still appicable to me? What roms do you recommend? Im a very wise gamecih user will my phone lag as it is now when I use screencast? Shall I be able to keep all my current data? Does roming your phone ruin it? If I brick it how do I unbrick? Are all roms solid and non bugged?
Thanks for your time people!
You have to install a custom recovery. There u can flash .zip files. You can install a rom on phone's memory and another rom in sd card, with multiboot. You will be able to use market with any rom. You can install cm7 or miui that are stable. Cm9 (ics) have some bugs. Another good rom is ms2ginger, with hd recorder.
+1 on ms2ginger
Upgraded from stock with all that garbage Telstra bloatware and Motoblur to that brilliant ms2ginger rom. It definitely been given another lease of life, everything is so much more snappier

First of all, Im 100% n00b. I've got no experience in roms...
Just rooted my Defy+ and looking to install a fast and stable rom.
Is there an ics/jelly bean one with everything working and with no bugs?(For daily use?)
Also plz tell me how to install it. I know you need to install 2ndinit, wipe caches and then flash the rom and google apps. ( And a lot of fixes)
What else do you need to do?
Any help will be really appreciated!
There are lots of ROMs that are at a point that they are daily-use ready. There is of course CM10 JB which I am personally running on my green lens defy. I love it. Asking which is best though will just start a fight. Your best bet is to select one and try it out. Do a forum search to locate a step by step walkthrough. Quarx has a good one in the FAQ I believe. Once you have played with one a little, try another. This will help you get comfortable with the process and help to understand what each step is doing. I have tried aokp, paranoidandroid, and cm9 and 10. So far my favorite is cm10. I use the minimalgapps to save room in the ROM. Make sure to search the forums before posting. Lots of information is already here. Happy flashing!

You will not get a JB rom without any bugs yet...
cm10 by quarx is good!
If you want speed go with cm 7 if you want the new features cm 10 (drains battery)
