I want to do a factory reset, but would like to keep root.
Version 4.5.621
Android Version 2.3.4
When I updated to 4.5.621, I used I used Vodoo OTA Rootkeeper v2.03 to restore root after the update.
Will I keep root or can I use Vodoo to restore root after a factory reset?
Thanks
A factory reset will not remove root privileges.

Thank you very much.
I tried updating to the new 4.2 ota, I installed stock ROM then booted then back to recovery to install 4.2 update. I lost root as expected, however my ota root keeper says the is not root backup file even though I ran it before doing all that. Not sure what happened.
On top of that I can't reboot into recovery without going through boot loader. It seems as though the update removed my custom recovery too.
I could easily fix all this if I were home, but I am at work today...no adb access. Is there a way to fix root and recovery without a computer?

To enable ADB to go:
Settings-> About Tablet-> Click Build Number for Easter Egg Multiple times! BOOM!
I am not sure if there's a way of rooting without PC and custom recovery.
Once you root your AT& T note 3...
and you want to "redo" your phone to a factory reset...
do you lose root and have to root again?
Or does it keep the root?
Thanks
I only know if u used cf auto root, Even if factory reset root is still there. Kingo root never works for me

Factory reset is fine, you will only loose root if you flash a stock rom...
Hey guys,
I've googled until my fingers bled and can't find a definitive answer anywhere.
So here goes. I've recently done my first android root. I have the Verizon Galaxy S 5 (g900v)(4.4.4)(NI2). I've installed SuperSU, BusyBox and SafeStrap. I'm wanting to factory reset my stock rom. From what I've gathered from google, root access and supersu will be safe. But do i need to remove SafeStrap beforehand? Will it be safe to reset with it installed? Should i use the "wipe" option from within SS? Any risk of brick?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Yes just use the wipe data option within SS. No risk of a brick.
I had rooted with magisk (no twrp installed) and i was following a guide to do an ota update without removing root but my device gave "stock back up doesnt exist" while i was trying to uninstall magisk with "restore images" option.
So do i have any other option then completely unrooting, doing the update and rooting again?
When i first rooted my device, it went to bootloop so i had to factory reset and after that phone was rooted and working. Does this mean whenever i want to do an ota update i will have to factory reset my phone?..
I am not super knowledgeable about files and methods. All i had done so far was follow well written guides on internet but i dont know what to do now
