Multitouch gesture in WIndows 8? - Windows 8 General

Hi, I really miss the press and tap gesture for right click in windows 7 and it was removed from windows 8 apparently.
Is there anyway to get it back? Cuz hold and tap isnt compatiple with some old games. And I'd also love to use 3 fingers tap for middle click which was available in win 7 as well

double tap for...

I saw a nifty thing on a nokia the other day (i've not been a nokia owner for about 7 years so this may have been around for a while already)...
double tapping the screen, anywhere, shows the time...brilliant.
Got me thinking if it is possible to define an action for a double tap on the screen of the touch hd. A double tap anywhere on the screen and not linked to the location of the tap. Is there any way to recognise a double tap (and then ignore the location of the tap and run some other defined event instead)?
This would be great functionality if it existed.
Just a thought/request.
cheers, cojo
p.s. still waiting to find a way to turn the hd on without using the power button or stylus withdrawal..!

[REQ] Double tap the Capacitive screen buttons

Essentially, I'd like to get even more buttons. With the capacitive screen, we have the 4 hardware buttons for Home, Green & Red and the hybrid back/ok button. There's the 4 directional 'hidden' buttons and of course, the center select buttons.
When you count the scroll/zoom surface, that's 9.
THEN, add in butler and you get 4 more via swipe actions.
I'd like to see a double tap application - or possible extension to butler?
So if you double tap the Home, send, end or back buttons (not press - TAP) you can assign a link or application to them.
Also, is the center button also capacitive? put your finger on it and lights for the other buttons will come on... If so, can we turn it into a 'mouseball' of sorts?
Anyone else see a use for something like this?
GScroll has that.
You can assign programs to launch when you double tap one of the four button locations.
And it can emulate cursor keys left/right/up/down by swiping part of the capacitive area.
And it has a task switcher that activates on a certain capacitive-motion but I can't figure it out how to make it work ok .
The app is 5 bucks from Mobihand, and get the latest beta from their own forum.
Flippin sweet! Thanks!
Anyone know if the center button is capacitive?

yes it is..
OK, so is there any app that uses the center button like a sort of 'rollerball' type input? It could even work like the 'nubs' on the old Toshiba, IBM & Lenovo laptops

I haven't seen an APP for that, but the last beta of GScroll has a mouse pointer activated by the center button and is controlled by touching anywhere on any of the capacitive pads. I don't use is much though. Otherwise it' a great idea, just not sure it would work that well. Who knows?

[Q] Back Button

Windows 8 is being designed for tablet. It lacks back button and makes it difficult to be used on pc. My idea is can anyone make a onscreen back button just like Android ICS?
Move your cursor to the top left of the screen... You'll see the last app you were in and you can click on it. If you move your cursor to the top left of the screen and wait for the little preview window to pop up and then move the cursor to the bottom a bit all the programs currently running will show up. Doesn't get much easier then that I'd say!

[Q] [Q/REQ] Use Touch Keyboard Outside of Merto UI

I Have searched every ware to find a solution and have yet to find a fix.
USING TOUCH SCREEN.
Problem: When NOT in the Metro UI, Pressing in a text field the typing cursor appears and starts to blink. (ready for typing) (at this point in Windows 7 a keyboard icon will appear for the option to bring up touch keyboard; by pressing it) In Windows 8 this does NOT happen, I have to go to the task bar and manually start it.(little bit of an issue when using a convertible netbook with auto-hide task bar enabled to increase screen area as much as possible.) So I need to use the track pad to navigate to it.
When inside the Metro UI this feature works better than Windows 7 ever did.
So is there a way to fix this, find a fix, or a workaround?
Toolbar

My post already says that.
when in tablet mode that not the easiest thing to do, and very cumbersome.
it should automatically appear when a text field is selected.
it does this in the Metro UI and Metro menus, but not anywhere else..standard applications.....not metro apps....
It should work but for some reason M$ has not enabled it.
You have to actually manually open the keyboard app every time.
after exploring several thing in the os i was able to find 2 temp workarounds.
1. Search tabtip.exe make it a desktop shortcut, right click it and make a shortcut combo key.
2. swipe in from the right side to show the charms panel > select settings > keyboard > Touch Keyboard.
These take a few extra steps each but i guess it will work until M$ fixes it.
I will still be looking to enable the auto feature.
Any news about this issue ?
It is very frustrating that the keyboard do not Automatic pop up!
