Helloooo
Any body there???????????

Hi Reza,
Could be a number of things. Take one of your SD cads that you've already tried, do a 'full' (not quick) format on it, setting block size to 'default' and file system to FAT or FAT32. Put an update.pkg on that and see if it works.
Also as mentioned, see if you can find another cable, that may work.
But it seems your biggest problem is that the ADB interface isn't being detected on your PC. Do you have the Android SDK and the Google USB Driver installed? There are no specific drivers available for the Dell ADB, they use the generic Google ones. These are available as a package through the SDK.
Let me know how you get on mate!
Justin

Few things you need to do one by one.
1. Calm down
2. Change the usb cable
3. change the microsd card
4.
a) Take off the back plate (rub /clean the copper connectors)
b) Take out the battery
c) see / check the streak connection / connector point (clean it)
d) connect the streak to pc (then place battery back in, then back plate and restart)
5. Report back
Good Luck

You're most welcome my friend. Here is a thread at MoDaCo which will walk you through manually forcing the correct driver under Windows 7 if the steps I mentioned before don't work for you! :good:

Try the post above mate, it lets you 'force' install the right driver for your Dell, which should make it recognise Fastboot properly :good:

Yes, possibly. But in order to determine what it is, we need to try everything we can.
Also, the 'SD card not recognised' when trying to flash an update.pkg worries me. That sounds like damage to the SD slot.
So if our only option is to flash via fastboot, we need to try everything

does it give any reason for it not wanting to do it?
You cant just dump an ISO on a flash drive and expect it to work, you need to make a bootable flash drive FROM the ISO that's slightly more complicated but wont really help you anyway as that wouldn't set it up.
first you'll need to make the USB bootable then extract the iso file in it
and use the same steps with widows 7, you'll need to format the drive with
NTFS file system
take a look here it will help

use ultraiso to extract the iso file so you can copy them to the USB
and here is a link for the boot folder if you don't have it
in step 4:
replace the command "FORMAT FS=NTFS" with "FORMAT FS=NTFS QUICK"
in step 5:
open the folder i attached and open CMD there then proceed to step 7
here is the folder:

says bootsect.exe nt60 g:is not an internal or external command. would take screen shot but dont have anything to paste screen shot to save it....... and on phone xda app doesnt let me post pics either :/........ y is this so complex but yet i know its simple.... downloaded both files and extracted stuff from the boot folder.... just dont know what to do.....
As I said, what did the official program on the win 8 ISO say when you ran it, you said it couldnt do it, was that all it said? It won't fail for no reason

if you havent extract the iso you may mount it like this:
right click on the file --> Ultraiso --> Mount to drive X:

after mounting it go to my computer and you'll see it there
and as you can see from the previously pic there is 2 important drives for us
1- CD Drive (F GRMCHPXFRER_EN_DVD --> the name will be deferent for you
2- Removable Disk (G
the first is the and the 2nd is the USB
when finish with step 4 in the tutorial
go to the boot folder and in the addres bar delete every thing and write CMD
then hit enter
now the CMD window will open
and write this is it:
bootsect /nt60 G:
where G: is your drive

I personally use WinUSB, a free program that can take MANY different types of files, and copy them to a usb, which it then make bootable. Here's a link to the download site: http://sourceforge.net/projects/winusb/files/latest/download
Also, I reccomend installing it as a second os. This is a better option, because I'm assuming you simply want to check it out. Just partition your hard drive (Extreamly easy, and hundreds of guides online as to how), turn off your computer, insert the boot media, start up, go into the boot device setting (Usually F12, but can occassionally varry, also may have to be manually made as an option, but adjusting BIOS settings by taping F2). If done properly, a WIndows 8 installation guide with start, agree to the terms, enter the license key, and choose which partition to install it on (Make sure it's the one you choose for this, some you don't erase any data and/or your OS). Then just follow the rest of the set-up instructions, and your good to go.
This strategy also works for trying to install any other OS (Such as you wanting to give Linux a try).
This is also good, because if Windows 8 encounters any errors, it won't affect Win7 or any data stored on the Win7 partition.
Hope this helps!

For root you must be on ext3 to get it working although it will still run in ntfs and you will be able to read windows usb drives ext3 you cant the con to ext3.

minitool partion wizard - www.partitionwizard.com
-steps for live testing-
1) use lili usb creator to install the iso onto a 2g min usb
a) select the RIGHT usb drive lol
b) then select the iso that your going to test
c) i personally only have format the usb selected but you can install the other crap but i dont lol
d) click the lighting bolt to start click the oks lol
2) insert the usb with iso on it, to your laptop with it off
3) start the laptop into the boot options (f12 for me) select the usb with iso

2) use lili usb creator to install the iso onto a 2g min usb
a) select the RIGHT usb drive lol
b) then select the iso that your going to use after tested for the best one
c) i personally only have format the usb selected but you can install the other crap but i dont lol
d) click the lighting bolt to start click the oks lol
3) turn your laptop insert the usb with the iso and the usb or external or even the internal if you want to do something crazy but you will format your windows or stock os! i use a external hdd as in my vid..
4) start your laptop enter your boot options (f12 for me) select the usb with the iso
5) select to install
a) select the partion that you set up earlier (if you dont see it detect devices ext3 = linux)
b) choose to format (i format to the format i set it for you dont have to...)
c) yes install grub (if installing to external you dont have to install grub but i do for debugging and to get to windows without unpluging)
d) yes install windows if your installing on a windows hdd
e) reboot (as soon as you see your bios you can remove your usb if your dont you will get error 17)
And now your running android ics on your laptop/netbook/pc
I didnt develop any of this! just trying to get it out there for others

Sent from my SCH-I500 using Xparent Cyan Tapatalk 2
The WiFi is kinda weird but I haven't really looked into it too deep. It will not connect to my home WiFi network but it will to my neighbors and my cell phone. Go figure. I have been trying out different iso images from the many downloads but I can't fins one yet that will boot on my old dell dimensions 2400 desktop. One of the error messages that pops up is for the computer model check and of course it fails, among other things. If anyone knows of a download for an iso that will work on at least dell desktop computers, let me know.
If it's broken...beat it into submission until it works!

It wont let me repair, since repair requires reboot, but then GRUB kicks in everytime i reboot, therefore stuck. I popped in the cd and reinstalled Windows.... but lost every program,
this is a bit off topic, but how can i restore everything from my old win7 to my new win7? I tried using the comand prompt in the recovery page, but the programs are still missing, tried just copy and pasting from windows.old folder to current windows folder, no luck.

Try this:
Plug your phone in. Find it in the device manager (look for the yellow triangle). Right click, and choose "Update Driver Software ...". Choose "Browse my computer for driver software". Choose "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer". Scroll down and pick "portable devices", click Next. Choose Standard MTP Device > MTP USB Device. There are no yellow triangle if my PC cannot read my Nexus.
I don't think it's driver problem....:crying:
Reinstall your driver and thats it. That is surely a driver issue, cause your phone still operates.

Have you tried to do a factory reset? If not make a backup and go for a try.
Backup without a USB connection can be done through bluetooth (sloooow) or Wifi (much faster than bluetooth). I like to copy large files to/from my N4 with ES File Explorer.

A thought just came to me: have you tried to look for the device while it is at the bootloader screen or at recovery mode?
If not, give it a try:
note: while at the bootloader screen the touchscreen does not respond, this is by design – or lack thereof. to manipulate you can swith options with volume up or volume down and choose an option with the power button. to quit this screen use the volume rockers to choose "Start" or "Power off". The former will resume the normal boot sequence while the later will, as you should expect, turn off the device.
1. turn off and unplug the device, if it is pluged.
2. hold down volume down and power. keep holding until it vibrates or you se the big open android with lots of text information. this is the bootloader screen.

You should be seen something like this - Nexus 4 bootloader screen
3. now plug the device to the computer. it should recognize the device and eventually install/apply some drivers.
If that happened and the device got recognized by the PC you can do the next step: go to the recovery mode. To do this follow on.
4. using the volume rockers choose the "Recovery mode" option and with the power button choose it.
You will see something like this - Nexus 4 stock recovery mode
If that happened you should get the device recognized again and new drivers installed.
If this happens we will be very close to be able to use the USB to copy the backup to the PC. Let us know if all goes as planned.
To quit the recovery mode just press and hold the power button until the device turns off, 5 to 10 seconds.

I've tried before. no response......
So I'm pretty sure that the USB function is gone....
got to admit it sounds like there are some good ideas here but you seem to be sure that your phone usb port is done. Ok if this is the issue you can always use ES File Explorer and share the folder you want on your pc and use the LAN function on ES explorer to transfer files over wifi.
Secondly I had a similar issue and download minimal adb and fastboot which found drivers for me to use adb on my phone which again will help you transfer files. Hopefully you dont respond to me like others with I tried that already.... LOL

yes I think my USB PORT is done too. so I decide to repair it by myself because the fee is about HKD $200...:crying:
In case you want to give it one last shot i had a similar problem when i first purchased my nexus 4.
The first time I connected it to the PC (Windows 7) I had USB debugging enabled and it recognized it (I.E made the sound when connecting it and started charging it) but could not access the storage via MTP or Camera. When turning off USB debugging I could access it as a camera but not as Media storage. I kept installing and uninstalling the USB drivers in windows. Eventually after many attempts causing frustration to build up, I clicked on cancel on the installing drivers and to my amazement the PC recognized it as MTP and I could transfer files. To this day I continue to use the same configuration and have not touched the drivers.
I don't know how or why this worked, I just know that it did.
Good Luck.

[Q] SGS5 Not recognized by PC!

Whenever I connect my phone to my computer via USB, it says "USB Device not recognized". I look in my device manager and I see 4 devices come up called "Bluetooth Peripheral Device" show up under "Other devices", yet they got yellow warning symbols next to them.
My phone connects to my PC via Bluetooth fine, but the USB just wont work! I've searched the web but most things are outdated or just don't work...
I think this is due to using an OTG cable, making my phone act as the host device whenever I plug it in?
Extra detail:
-PC is running Windows 7 ultimate x64
-Samsung Galaxy S5 is on Android 5.0, but didn't work on previous versions either
-I use the samsung cable, but have also tried one other cable.
-Tried plugging it into another computer, does the exact same thing.

Thank you for the great help, I think that this is what needs to be done to fix it. There is still one problem though.

Try these options,
1. Control Panel > Devices & Printers then plug in your phone and you should get an Unknown Device appear, right click on it and select Troubleshoot and run that process to see if that sorts out the problem.
2. Start your computer in safe mode then try installing the driver manually that way, then reboot your PC normally.
Registry solution if you want to try it as long as you understand Windows Registry
1. Go to the Registry Editor click Start > Run > and type in regedit then hit Enter
2. Expand the folder location HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\
3. Find EEC5AD98-8080-425f-922A-DABF3DE3F69A in the folder list and click on it, this should say Portable Devices in the right window
4. See if it contains a value called UpperFilters if so delete it
5. Before you delete it though make a backup of the EEC5AD98-8080-425f-922A-DABF3DE3F69A folder, right click on it and Export to a folder just in case you need to restore it.
6. To restore the key if you need to just go to the folder where you exported it to and click on it to install

You are having a problem with this aren't you.
If you have Kies installed uninstall it also plug in your phone and find it in the list of USB Devices, then right click select properties and uninstall the driver, unplug the phone and reboot your PC.
Once rebooted Temporarily turn off any firewalls and Anti Virus scanners and try the below
Install Kies 3, start Kies and check for updates, if there are any updates then install them.
Restart Kies 3 after any update, once its running plug in your phone and let the drivers install
If its worked properly Kies will see it, if not then check the USB devices and try to install the driver manually again
Don't forget to use the USB cable that came with the phone

[GUIDE] Unbrick Your Hardbricked GiONEE Elife E7

What is the starting situation?
You bricked your phone. It can't be started anymore. No charging, no recovery, no fastboot. Your phone is not recognized by your computer.
What to do now?
1. Drain the battery!
Therefore you just have to be patient. Press the power button every now and then. It takes approximately 2 days until the battery is drained.
How do you know if your battery is drained?
When connecting to a charging station or a computer the led-light will pop up red and turn off after a few seconds again.
2. Download the rom for your device!
HTML:
http://androidmtk.com/download-gionee-stock-rom-models
HTML:
http://www.android.gs/download-gionee-stock-rom/
The drivers and the flash tool you will need are also contained in the download.
3. Install the driver.
Your phone should be disconnected while you are installing them. When you connect your phone now it should be recognized under COM port as 'Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader'.
4. Start the tool and set the settings like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
On almost every website it is stated that you should set "Platform" to "8x26". Do not do it! ( This was the cause my phone bricked)
"Platform" hast to be set to "8974" for our phone.
5. Click on download and wait until it is finished.
Enjoy your unbricked Gionee!

A) Let it sit and drain the battery in 1-2 days. Now plug it in via usb cable.
The biggest problem:
Q) My phone is detected as usb hid device instead of com port.
A) There are problems with different versions of Windows.
For me, this problem occured with Windows 8 64-bit.
It is recommended to follow the procedure on a computer with Windows XP 32-bit. Windows 7 32-bit might work also.
Alternatively:
Use a virtual machine. (I used Virtual Box by Oracle.)
1. Create a virtual image of windows xp 32bit in the virtual machine.
2. Install windows xp 32bit on it. (You need a windows xp installation ISO or CD)
3. Put the downloaded rom, flash tool and drivers into the virtual machine. (e.g. with an usb flash drive)
4. Install the drivers while your phone is disconnected. Now connect your phone to the virtual machine.
Now your phone should be recognized. Follow the rest of the procedure.
There are some threads on xda which try to help with bricked E7 devices. I just wanted to put all together and add some information. So make sure you check the credits!

First of all open your device manager. Then connect your phone. Check if any device was added (like unknown USB-device or something). That is the case if battery is not drained.
