Here in the Netherlands, you can get one for €470 total, by using a 0-minute 12months subscription from KPN. That's a one-time €320 purchase and 12 months of €12.50.

Just been told by an HTC dealer in London they are about to increase to £549 sim free due to the dollar. I paid £529 last week.

Nop... I'm looking for sim free and those that can delivered to the US.
Paid 505 pounds including shipping for mine. Getting it tomorrow
Paid £450 for mine.. then again I managed to get it at cost price due to 'connections' (no not dodgy)
But the cheapest OFFICIAL place is via play.com if you use a 5% off code = £475 delivered

Needed a new contract anyway, so pretty good timing.

Play.com have changed the price of this handset a few times - it was £549, then £499, then went back up to £519 before coming down again.
£474.99 is the price you pay after the RAC discount voucher.

edit: well just went to live.com then it took me to ebay and yeah its all clearly stated in the t&c once you click on the image for microsoft cashbacks

For those who have brought a Nexus One in the UK from the google site, how much was it in total when you went to check out (phone + delivery + any tax)? I presume it was in dollars. What was the converted price in GBP shown on the credit card statement?
Will there be an additional import tax when you recieve the phone, is it just import tax or is import tax and VAT?

Placed order last night at around 12:02am minus the optional UK adapter and engraving. Got order confirmation email straight away and noticed £338.34 charged to my CC this morning. Now for the VAT charge when it arrives...
Well say you get hit with both 17.5%(VAT) + 6%(Import) taxes and they set the phones value as £338.34 + 17.5% (£59.20) + 6% (20.30) you will pay a grand total off £417. So say you get charged £420
so in UK the NexusOne :-
Nexus One = £420 (at worst you may not get taxed)
In comparison to :-
Iphone 3GS 16GB = £450 (from O2)
HTC Hero = £356 (from amozon.co.uk)
HTC HD2 = £513 (from amazon.co.uk)

One thig is, if you dont get charged any tax (possible - as iv imported a couple of things cameras etc. that dint get taxed ) the nexus one will be less than the HTC Hero ...... wich would be very very cool
I was told we don't pay the 6% import tax on mobile phones?
And they will only add import tax on the charger if you ordered one.
But looking on here it says Mobile phones (excluding built in GPS, TV) - Free - Goods are liable to VAT on importation at the standard rate (17.5 %).

Good question. Last time I ordered something for work I got no notification, they just held it in customs and I had to call to find out why it was delayed and then pay over the phone before customs would even release it! Hope this isn't the case this time...

The 8 GB version is a Google Play exclusive. You can't buy it anywhere else. This applies to all countries, not just the UK.

If you can cough up an extra twenty quid you can get a 16gig from Tesco for 189 with a code (ask if you need it) with free next day delivery to a store for collection.
Bought mine straight from google. It arrived the next day.
I got mine from Tesco, ordered it tuesday, picked up from store on the weds.
Tesco are only selling them online, PC world had them instore but seem to be all sold out.... Carphone warehouse is selling them from friday so if you want one on friday, that is the place to go, if you cant get and want to order it, then tesco is the best place, They do free delivery where google charge (and yes you get a free £15 voucher no matter where you buy it from... somthing i didnt realise, i thought you had to order it from google to get the voucher so i was well chuffed..)

16 gig from Tesco = £189.99 (199.99 - 10)
It's worth it I'd say. Saves you worrying about space!

By importing do you mean to Egypt? I think you'll really have problems getting one shipped to Egypt for $229 total, and tax would generally be up your local authority.

Well thats what both came up i bought a 16gb but returned and the 32 came up to that price.
The 32Gig here costs around $283.xx with a 5.1% tax. Course its what I paid as well.

The 229 for the 16gb is before tax and shipping in many states, sales tax percentage differs from state to state and county to county, where some states don't charge a sales tax, and others do. I live in Chicago which is Cook County, and we have one of the highest sales tax percentages in all the US @ 10.25% so if I were to buy a 16gb from a local brick and mortar store it would cost me with tax, about 252.47...all depends where you are in the states....that said I ordered mine off Amazon the wkend right before the launch date, and mine came to be 238, as amazon doesnt charge tax yet in IL (I chose saturday delivery for 9 bux more with prime).

its standard to quote the prices before taxes. the reason is that some states have no tax (as mentioned) and the others all vary wildly as to what the tax rate is. quoting a price with tax would therefore be inaccurate for most...
OK guys I wan't to pick up a Nexus 4 here in the UK.
I have the Xperia Z Ultra on order but thats not the kind of device I want to take out with me on a night out on the Sauce
I know the N4 is available on google for £199 now which is a great price.
However is there anywhere I can get cashback or a voucher for a few quid extra off before I buy one?
I would look out for a second hand one in good condition on ebay for about £140-£150 but in some instances people are paying over the google play price for second hand.

I know Always worth checking if there is a couple of pounds extra, or some cashback to be had though...
I really don't see the point for paying £160+ on ebay when it can be had new for a few pounds more though...
