I would love to customize my combined navbar by adding custom shortcuts to it. For example I want to put a shortcut to overscreen browser so I can do some real multitasking. That would be sweet

Not exactly the same, but the next paranoid android update will have side by side multitasking.

Being using Go Launcher for ages now. Great amount of options and works flawlessly.
Apex Launcher on ICS was my main choice.
However I always had a fancy towards MIUI Launcher. Using CM7 I'm very pleased to now be using QQ Launcher. Buttery smooth to the extreme, it's a fantastic choice for those on CM7 (and upwards!)
What's your choice launcher then?

agreed, but i miss the customizations of go launcher...
I have noticed this feature is broken in many cm10 based ROMs....is this feature broken upstream....because I love my slider shortcuts, but feel unsucure with out a password.

Are there any custom roms that have true tablet UI. I've tried three or 4 different ones and there all the scrappy stock UI

Paranoid Android does. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=29418878
Have you also tried changing the DPI to 160 in build.prop and changing settings/system/font size to make text readable?

Have you tried Paranoid Android? It allows complete customization of UI's for different apps including system UI. It's not a tablet mode ROM but it allows you to put systemUI in Tablet UI. Read up on it in Original Development. Version 2.0 should come out soon so if you are interested, I'd just wait for it to be released.
SGT7, EOS, PA*, Stock with the mod. Any ROM at 160DPI

So I got phandroid it's awesome but is there a way to get quick dock to go away and have the app drawer icon in the upper right hand corner, or am I missing something?

What's wrong with enabling it on stock?
Ib seen you can get tablet ui on the nexus 7, ib look around for like mod for the navbar so its like tablet ui but no luck.
Does anyone has a way i might have missed to move the navbar to the side?
Its not comfortable where the home button is located in a big tablet like this one :\

If you're up to flashing a ROM, try paranoidandroid. They've brought back tab ui and also allow you to set the ui and DPI for each app independently.

FWIW... I'm on Thundercat from 12/27/2013 and it has a Nav Bar Left/Right/Center option. The ROM performs perfectly for me, too.
Odd question, but with Safari on iOS 7 you can go back on webpages by just swiping from left to right. Or forward by swiping right to left. Is there any browser with comparable speed to Chrome that features an option like that? It just makes things easier and I know given how customizable Android is, there could be a browser I'm not finding.

In chrome you can do that by swipe in the toolbar

I don't know of a browser, but there are apps that can customize gestures like that

Try dolphin browser, I know recently they got real big on adding gesture and custom gesture support.
