Revert back to Oxygen from Aurora [HELP] - Huawei Ideos X5 U8800

I had Oxygen at first, but decided to install the ICS aurora and now im really struggling to revert back to Oxygen. Feels like i've tried anything. Could someone please guide me how to revert back? Thanks!
Edit: Tried to install back to stock 2.2, and in CWM install oxygen, but the phone just get stuck in bootloop.

Are you using official recovery 5.0.2.6 to install oxygen? Any version above that will result in a bootloop because they are only for .35 kernels.

Go into recovery.
Flash a GB kernel (franco in my case)
reboot into recovery (do not boot into android: menu: Advanced->reboot recovery)
flash GB rom, of restore backup. (backup in my case)
reboot
Worked for me.
I was on ICS. went back to GB using the above method.
Ah kernel first. Okay illl give it a shot thanks

Yes, because then you will have a GB compatible Recovery.

Either stock ROM or cooked. If you use stock, you will have to root again, so make sure you use a stock rom which can actually be rooted or you'll have to flash another. I think it's just easiest to go straight to a cooked ROM.

You cannot flash a stock rom through Recovery, you'll need Odin to flash a Stock ROM.

[Q] Defy+ doesn't boot CM7 nightly roms

Hello,
I have installed CM7 for Defy(not plus) in my cellphone perfectly.
So then, I found the CM7 Defy+ nightlys and I'm trying to install it. But when I install the ROM on it and reboot, it stays in the initial logo forever.
Could you help me?
Best regards.
please help
Try another rom, like MUIU or any other rom and see if the start loop is overcome.
Did you wipe the memory after?
If you want to instal defy+ nighties, you first have to flash the gingerbread kernel. (CM9kernel.zip)
So now flash the stock ROM and start again. You probably downgraded to instal three normal defy nightly do you have to flash a defy+ ROM with the same bl nr. After that root instal 2nt... and flash the defy+ nightly (and wipe). If you want to be able to switch, you will have to flash the downgrade sbf again and flash the CM9 kernel. Then you can switch with just flashing the kernel and ROM (sbf wipe)

Do cm7 nightly have these fixes? I'm running nightly now and camera seems ok, but I don't know yet about the battery.

Dowgrading GB to previous kernels

Hi guys,
I accidentally installed GB kernel (2.6.32.9-ge281b6e) on my DEFY (not defy+), when I wanted to try the new CM9...
I really liked ICS but I don't like the fact that the camera is unusable and the battery is leaking really fast. (maybe because of the kernel)
Is there any way I can downgrade the GB Kernel?
Thanks.
Nikola
did u just flashed the small CM9 kernel?
I had cm7 and wanted to instal the cm9.
I went to a thread and downloaded the GB kernel installer (cm9) and installed it from recovery, than the CM9, rebooted and... no return?
Mhhh sounds good. Try to flash the cm9 file again?

Did you wipe cache and dalvik cache before and after the flash? If you haven't, this is the most probable reason for the bootloop. Wipe them now and reboot - you should be fine now. And yes, you can always downgrade kernel, as long as you don't flash a full sbf with higher CG39.smg version.
Sry guys i havent made myself clear enough ... The phone is working fine... But no camera and battery is leaking really fast. Im not stuck in the boot phase aka bootloop... The phone has GB kernel..how to downgrade the kernel?
Just flash CM7 kernel and then a CM7 ROM. Done.

[Q] How to go back to MIUI Pickachu Edition 2.xz from CM10 nightly (18-Nov)

Hi folks!
As the title suggests, I want out from JellyBean and back to MIUI Pickachu Edition 2.xz
I think the latest 2nd boot builds have the GB kernel since I see 4 Vsel levels, so should I flash the froyo kernel?
If so, what should be the order of flashing ROM -> Kernel or other way round?
Also, I have a nandroid backup of when I had MIUI. What steps do I have to follow to restore it, i.e, do I have to flash the ROM (and/or kernel since I was on froyo kernel when the backup was taken) to restore nandroid?
I read a lot about the fuss of latest nightlies changing /system and /data to ext4, but in my case they are ext3, so I guess I should be alright?
Reason for going back is LAG! the immense amount of time to open stuff. I tried loving it, but its just too slow to the point I feel like its running Windows 8 on Intel 8086.
Please post all questions in Q&A. Thread moved there.
Hi!
My friend was in same situation and he went ahead and tried to flash MIUI Pickachu edition, but his process got stuck and now his Defy won't boot.
Hes now flashing stock Froyo sbf.
Thats the reason why I need to know instructions to get back to MIUI without going through sbf flashing.
Any help gladly appreciated!

how do I install miui and cyanogenmod both on defy MB525
any help in installing miui on defy would be much appreciated.
You need to flash a Froyo SBF. For some reasons going back to 2.3 always ends in a cache error, flashing 2.6 kernel, nandroid, fullwhipe etc. doesnt work

R U on Froyo or GB? if Froyo try to flash fixed sbf I will attached if needed.
Just flashing froyo kernel was ok for the 2nd boot builds upto 9 nov builds.
From 9th nov builds the cm10 rom formats our defy to ext4 file system, so in order to downgrade we need to flash the sbf.

My friend, thats what I have said, in my OP,
I have checked using mount command from rooted shell and I can confirm that my /data and /system are STILL in ext3 even though some say that the latest nightlies change the fs while formatting.
Try restoring your backup, you may succeed, otherwise you need to start all over again, with the sbf. I find it better to start all over anyway, no matter, what rom we are talking about. Those installed over a freshly flashed sbf proved to be snappier and absolutely bugfree - at least for me.
Simply try to restore your backup. I tried many roms so far, aslo the newest by Quarx and Epsylon and i always worked for me to install a new rom/zip/ withour anything further. Never installed a sbf.
Was quite late in posting a reply but I did end up flashing Stock Defy 2.2.2 SEA sbf.
I did flash successfully MIUI (Pikachu edition) but it was a bit off, so took a backup and flashed sbf.
Have been on stock ever since (been kinda busy).

Stuck on recovery can't flash roms

Hi, im using cwm recovery v5.5.0.4 and i tried to go from cm7 android 2.3 to cm10.2 android 4.3. Flashing the rom wouldn't make any change and i got an error which i searched on it and found out that i has to be on ics stock to flash any ics custom. I downloaded from huawei site the ics original and tried to force upgrade, when in step 2 i got an error -> Update failed. Then i tried to force upgrade to 2.3 orginal gb and got the same issue. Now im actually trying to boot in device and flash my old rom of gb custom cm7 but after update completion im stuck on recovery. Any ideas? Its immerse to fix it.. TY
