Hello,
I'm trying to follow this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1798631 but having problems flashing the .img file.
I'm completely new to android and how you flash it. I've started by trying to use fastboot which gave me "cannot load "boot.img" " errors. I just tried booting into CWM and using that but installation would fail after I select the img
If anyone could help me follow this tutorial for a beginner I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks

I tried looking around the forums to see if someone has had this problem before. Couldn't find something similar.
I had stock 4.0.3 installed and I saw today that 4.0.4 was being pushed out. Since 4.0.3 wasn't a stock build I tried to downgrade to 2.3.6 in order to keep everything stock. I rooted the phone, installed the ROM Manager and flashed 2.3.6 through Clockworkmod Recovery. Everything went smoothly but when I powered on the phone force quit messages kept popping up and I can't get past the welcome screen. When I go into Fastboot mode and try to go in Recovery mode it just shows the Android symbol and a warning sign. I tried flashing a recovery .zip file I found online through fastboot but couldn't manage to do it (I'm on Mac OSX)
Can someone please help me? I'm completely desperate and wouldn't care about erasing everything (I think I already did, actually).
Thanks in advance.
flash a recovery.img
that multiple fc happened to me when i installed a i9023 rom on my i9020a.
unzip the recovery.zip and flash the .img file through fastboot and make sure you have the right rom for your model
Thank man, but that's what I tried to do. I got confused and wrote that it was a .zip up there. I'm really confused and couldn't flash the .img. Could you walk me through it? or point me to a thread that shows me how to do it?
im not sure how a mac is set up, i can walk you through flashing it on windows through command prompt ...
Please do that. I guess I can try to work it out.
Thanks

memorize that lol it saved me.
you can skip the root part, but it explains how to set up the pc so it'll read the nexus with the correct drivers and whatnot, and what commands to run to flash the recovery. then when youre in the recovery, mount as usb, copy over 2.3.6 (the right one!) and install from zip.
I just tried that. I get this message: "error: cannot load 'twrp-crespo-2.0.0RC0.img'" I don't know what to do!
Can you get into boot loader mode?
Have you tried to use Odin?

Did you unlock your bootloader?

Hello everyone,
I got a little problem with my Nexus 4 and that is that I can not boot my system anymore. An Android 4.4.4 factory image is already on my internal SD card but every time I try to install it TWRP says that it failed because it was unable to mount/usb-otg. Does anyone know how to fix that? Already tried with Wug's NRT but when I use the '' Flash stock + Unroot " option my device also ends in a bootloop.
Help would be appreciated!
Cheers
unable to mount usb-otg isn't an error that would cause flash to fail and is quite normal. You can't flash a factory image from TWRP however. You use fastboot mode and a pc.
This is a guide for how to use fastboot to flash the factory image: http://androidforums.com/threads/guide-how-to-flash-a-nexus-factory-image-manually.706533/
Thanks for replying!
Now I got the problem that I can't flash the bootloader. Everything works until I type: fastboot flash bootloader bootloader-mako-makoz30d
Always responds with: error: can't load 'bootloader-mako-makoz30d'
All files are placed into one folder thus it should work shouldn't it? Anybody knows what I'm doing wrong?
Cheers
Never mind, just forgot to type the ending .img
Worked, thanks for helping me
Hi Guys so suddenly i bricked my phone. now what's only left is fastboot and twrp recovery which I am getting error status 7 when trying to install a firmware. anyone of you will be able to help me fix this? thank you so much
I'd follow the instructions in this thread to get your phone back working through fastboot:

---EDIT, FIXED IT ALREADY, MORE INFO BELOW---
Dear members,
A little background; The installation of the latest Oxygen os (zip on storage - > twrp flash) failed.
I thought it was a good idea to wipe everything and reboot to start fresh.
Upon reboot I was unable to enter TWRP, only fastboot was possible.
When I flash twrp (by neither clockworkx or the bluex) the flash is successful but I cant boot into the recovery, also not by directly using fastboot boot recovery.img. When booting into recovery I get a black screen with only a white led.
So I decided to give the stock recovery a try and that one does boot up however I cant flash anything. When I use adb sideload it loads the file fine but then it errors with no error message.
I am getting suspicious that my internal memory is now corrupt so I am willing to give this msmtool a try which I have never touched so I would really appreciate some guidance. Anyone with any ideas? Thanks a lot in advance.
Other things I have tried:
I tried to flash the stock boot.img from the oxygen os using fastboot but it doesnt seem to be the problem.
---FIXED:---
Thanks to the wonderful documentation found at : /oneplus-5/how-to/guide-unbrick-guide-hard-bricked-t3761706
I was able to fix it. If you are in the same pickle head over to his thread and thank him.
So i was just following the instructions from this page https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/flox/install, was able to unlock the bootloader of my nexus 7 device. Now at this point i didnt know my device codename, i thought it was flox but i just noticed on the bootloader page it says deb. [Im a noob..guilty]
Now the 2nd step was no biggie either, i was able to flash twrp recovery, but somehow it was not working as i was keep getting error 1 and vendor invalid argument when i tried to flash the lineage 18.1 zip.
The recovery img i tried were
lineage-18.1-20211018-recovery-flox.img
twrp-3.4.0-0-deb.img
twrp-3.5.0_9-0-flox.img
twrp-3.5.2_9-0-flo.img
twrp-3.5.2_9-0-flo_followmsi.img
Now after flashing twrp recoveries i was getting the problem of not able to flash the LOS 18.1 rom file, plus if i would format the device and then try to reboot the device back to recovery i would get an error with android logo collapsed [check the image]
what am i doing wrong? plz help.
I sense its repartitioning process? also i am not sure if i did an EFS Persists back up.
so if someone can give a walkthrough. would be very greatful _/\_
thanks again
Was your device rooted? Start it in to recovery mode, go to "Mount". And see if you could chose system directory. If not, that means TWRP can't access system directory and will not be able to flash any custom ROM until you sort root permissions.
Edit: Sorry just now noticed that you can't get in to recovery mode anymore. Connect your device to computer and use Nexus Root Toolkit to flash TWRP recovery.
