Would love something like Activator on Android - G2 and Desire Z General

On my jailbroken iPad there's the activator extension, with this allows me to control gestures and button presses at either 'everywhere' or specific locations such as at the lockscreen.
For example in the screenshots attached, I can set it up so that on the lockscreen:
Single Click Home = Pause/Play
Double Click Home = Next Track
Triple Click Home = Previous track
It'd be nice to be able to do the exact same thing on my phone via the trackpad button.

hope it helps!

Though don't really need gestures (apex launcher pro does have gesture abilities). Would be more hardware buttons I seek, and as blk_jack once mentioned would require actually changing the framework. Something about Android not registering physical buttons as anymore than a single click.

Itching Thumb A Must Have

I figured a lot of people would love this...
When you hit the "home" button it turns your phone into webOS style "cards" display of your recent locations (yes, with previews of the page and all). I personally find it amazing, best task switcher out there, period.
Double-tap takes you all the way to your actual home page.
You can even add shortcut widgets to the bottom under the "cards" or even use it as a secondary in launcher, launcher - if that made any sense.
There's a few similar ones.. I love this but the home tap option to expose all 7 homescreens is gone on this one. s

How? I have the paid and most recent version of LP and after playing around in the settings for a little while I couldn't figure out how to set an app to launch by swyping on the app button.
Thanks

I use it all the time. It's the quickest way to pull up a contact or even an app.
(I've turned off the web search so it's fast)
I know you can "dial" a contact name in the dialer, but it doesn't tell you which number is mobile, work, etc so it's pointless.
I also use this TONS! It allows me to remove the google search widget, and I use it for voice search all the time.

that said, I am going to argue if you don't use it, you just are doing it wrong... the search button saves me a lot of time. There is a reason it's the 4th button, of 4 though.
Samsung got the 4 buttons in the right order, in my opinion.

On screen buttons

Since this is going to be my first phone with on screen buttons which I consider a stupid idea I am wondering what can we go with this back bar embeded at the bottom of the screen, Can we make it smaller?, will it be removed in games? Can we add extra buttons or ever widgets to it? Maybe ever make it pages so when you swipe over it it will reveal a rss feed or something. Any ideas on what can be done to make it helpful rather than a hinderance

Multitasking

Hello, I think I'm gonna buy an s4 but there's one thing that bothers me. It seems like there's no fast way to multitask. Just like the previous galaxy phones you have to hold down the home button to get to the recent app list. I find this painfully slow. Any suggestions for faster multitasking?

The S4 uses the home button to multi task so it isn't as fast as the nexus 4 ( for the menu to appear) but its still fast enough. But if it bothers you than I would suggest a phone without a home button and on screen buttons.
Use a launcher, like Nova. The default gesture to bring up recent apps is to pinch zoom.
Problem solved.
There is also an app which provides the recent button as an on screen button and remains on screen at all times. You can move it around like a chat head.
Sent from my C6603 using Tapatalk HD
Yes I find it slow. Usually I just want to copy paste something or remember something and it takes two seconds to switch back and two seconds to switch forward. Four seconds is a long time these days.
Regarding the Nova launcher, gestures don't work inside apps right?
Samsung should allow customized buttons. I would love to change the menu to multitask.
You should get a HTC One with no home button and a recent apps button. I'm sure you'll love that.

yeah but at least it has double click to multitask which is way faster than a two-second lag.
Thanks for the link to the recent apps floating app. I'm not sure that it is worth it since it will be annoying to have in on the screen all the time...
What about the gestures in alternative launchers (nova). Does that work inside apps?

I agree with you on that point. I was just pointing out incorrect information so others reading don't think it actually has the dedicated multitasking button.

[Q] Note 4 Tap to Wake

Hi,
I'm considering picking up the new Note 4, but this seemingly trivial feature is something I've grown to love on my Xperia and LG devices. Does the Note 4 have a double tap to wake feature implemented? Thanks!
There isn't any need for double tap to wake on Samsung devices as there is a physical home button.
This is a big one for me. The double tap to wake or close on the LG G3 has become one of my favorite features.
Regardless or not of there is a home button it would be nice to see this.
It does not.

As I remember, on HTC (One M8, I think), you just need to make a gesture on the screen and it wakes up & unlocks the device.
Is it correct?
