Support for Bluetooth 4.0 (low energy)

Hi,
does Defy+ support Bluetooth 4.0 so called "low energy". By info from TI
the used module WiLink 6.0 (WL1271)
Supports latest Bluetooth low-energy (Bluetooth 4.0) and Bluetooth 3.0 specifications

But when i tried
Code:
hcitool lescan
I got error
Code:
set scan parameter failed: I/O Error
.
Is there missing support in kernel or WL1271 firmware?
Thanks for answer.
Netolish
Any update on this one?
bump - Any update on this?
I also want to get a bluetooth 4.0 device working.
I have a heart rate sensor H6 from polar and want to read it with my mb526.
i tried to move the android.hardware.bluetooth_le.xml into /system/etc/permissions and changed the permissions of the file
Code:
according to that site hxxp://ruidacosta.com/2014/01/06/bluetooth-le-with-cm11-on-razr-m/)
sorry for the censored link but im not allowed to post links
with the new bigger system partition this almost works^^
So a programm, ble checker says my device is ble supported however i can´t find nor connect to the heart rate sensor.
With a Galaxy S4mini the sensor works fine.
I m still on reading into that topic and im not sure how far the 2.6 kernel is problem or maybe the bluez version, since bluetooth smart is relativly new protocol.

[ROM][4.4.x][Unofficial][Pisces] MI3 TD CM11 [2015-02-13]

Please check MI3 TD CM12
Known Issues in latest version
Phone call over bluetooth not supported: You simply won't hear anything over bluetooth
Workaround: switch to speaker or earpiece
Compass misbehavior in some apps (some Maps), but works fine in system QuickSetting (the drop down tile)
Menu/Back menu sometimes won't work, only Home works. This happens within one app after running for a while (or trigger by some unknown condition). Looks like CM nightly bug
Workaround: switch using the app's built-in back button or something and it may recover to normal status
Touch sounds too low: When Phone try to play any sound after it isn't playing anything, it take a about 200ms or something to volume up which make the touch sound can't be heard

Vibration works globally
Automatic brightness
Music over Bluetooth (A2DP)
CPU frequences in Settings -> Performance
Updated default brightness level settings to same as Official MI3-TD MIUI
Avoid the possibility to reformat your built-in emulated SD card, which is caused by a false positive file system check
Updated kernel and libraries to Official MI3TD-MIUI 5.1.30
Please use 3rd party MI3-TD specified recovery to flash this rom. MI3-C/W recovery is NOT accepted. MI3 official recovery isn't tested.

[CM11] FM radio

According to the bug list (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=48305766&postcount=1039), the bug #19 (FM radio is giving no sound) should be fixed in latest Quarx builds.
Anyhow I have just installed KitKat in my Defy+ and I cannot let the FM work (last nightly build).
BTW, bluetooth is deactivated.
The FM radio opens normally, the channel search is performed, but no sound is emitted...
Is there anyone having the same issue?

Thanks, you are so quick. I am trying to install.
There is no game boost mode
Updated for 6.12.8.
----
For the fun of flashing, I was wondering if I could switch to the developer ROM without unlocking and IT WORKED!
I was running the official China 8.0.18.0 ROM on my Mi 5s. I downloaded the ROM as mentioned in the second link, copied it on my 5s, opened the Updater app which is pre-installed on the phone, selected "Choose update package" under options and selected the miui_MI5S_6.12.8_29a0b08d57_6.0.zip file.
The updater asked me if I want to install this and I said yes.
Then it informed me it needs to wipe all data, because the ROM is an older (?) version which I confirmed.
The phone restarted and installed the ROM and afterwards the initial setup wizard greeted me and I made the fresh configuration.
So yeah, if you are running official China stable release, you can switch to developer without actually unlocking the bootloader!
Updated to latest build 6.12.22.

To install use TWRP 3.1.1. About changes to don't ask, don't know.
BT is still having issues I think. I've gotten side tracked with my device tree, and been looking at the broadcom c++,
I think googles framework and bt app need fixing
@NeoBeum ,
On stock firmware everything is OK, the BT connection is stable.

it's got some changes to how the Qualcomm stack, RFCOMM, talk to the Broadcom stuff for SDIO..
I asked about some other stuff on GitHub, but no one's replied yet.
at the moment I can see some conflicts with 'bt.name=Android', the dynamic naming to 'Xperia {Device Model}', and the name users can change in the bluetooth settings

You have this conflict on stock FW cfg121-0121 BT 4.1?
The difference between the drivers is minimal and the main part is not affected.

its not really firmware related - but software - so the problem exists for almost every release - because either one of them wants to supercede or be in charge...
this is what i was trying to find out... who has final control.. there's 4 vendors involved... qcom, broadcom, sony, google... 5 if you include the user
i was just going through the kitakami bluetooth stuff - you'll probably see my post in github if you have a look
edit: the firmware itself looks solid (apart from the bit where i mentioned the dynamic naming - because there's the override/or not override with build.prop) - it's the google framework added on top of it - that is leading to my suspicions
just go have a look at the system/bt at googlesource - and you might see what i'm having doubts about

Post read, I will say a few words about the boot:
- kernel and ramdisk (initialization scripts)
- system/build.prop (medium priority)
- other scripts with higher priority, programs and drivers
In general, it is tedious, but the problem is most likely in the stack between broadcom and google.
To search for the culprit will have to study the source code...
I blame google then, i'll go looking at the system/bt git first

Hey, quick question:
Should I stick with the firmware that came with my Rom or should I update to the latest version even if it's a different android version? I'm using Marshmallow and wonder if the Nougat update would do anything.
