Network indicator is a P

Hello,
I recently bought an unlocked SoftBank X01HT with some English dopod rom. I installed SoftBank original rom 2 days ago and everything is smooth, even with my Rogers sim card. The only thing is that my network indicator on top is now a P instead of a G on the dopod rom. In the X01HT manual they only have a G, 3G maybe some others but no P.
I googled and found that some other provider/rom use other letters like E or U etc. but no P. I also searched the wiki/forums.
I guess the P means the same thing as G, GPRS, since my provider doesn't have 3G everywhere yet. It's no biggie but, why a P ?

I'm guessing that it is just Japanese for GPRS or Packet data...

The "p" is for PDC. It's Japan's version of Edge.

Select LTE in I9505

After considering so many ways finally I bought Galaxy S4 LTE (I9505). I convert my connection package into LTE version. But there is no ways select or showing any option for LTE in Mobile Networks. Only GSM and WCDMA available. Please suggest me solution for this.:crying:

I experienced this problem before. Just reset the whole system in the setting

Some apps (like Radio Switcher) may help. Alternatively.. is your phone unbranded? What's your current CSC?

More details?
Current Rom, what did you do?, every thing.

remove the battry and place it and download mode (volume down + home + power ) you will have the same screen and reflash a tar like (recovery (phil ou TWRP or even reroot the device ) and u will have the samsung boot repared (cuz the recovery have the boot (so if this didn't fix it flash a firmware from samfirmware enjoy
belive me its not a big thing it will be fixed good luck bro

just keep pressing on power button for some time and then phone will reboot back into current rom

YOUR DEVICE MODEL IS FOR KOREA.
You must flash stock firmware for your device from odin to boot it properly.
There is no way to bypass it.
& I know this situation. Same thing happened with me when I was using Samsung Epic 4g.

you cant get 4G network.
j500H is limited by samsung (from factory) to work only with 3G on sim1 and 2G on sim2
changing the ril libs will not help you.
you can test my cm12.1 with Temasec optimization.(you will find it some where of the begining of the j5(2015) history )
That rom work on allmost all J5 models(2015) including H model.
on the 4G models work 4G
on H work 3G
but if i'm wrong, please someone to correct me

Yea, H isn't capable to use 4G networks.

How to switch from 4G/3G/2G auto to 3G only or 4G only (Question)

I used to have option in my Note 3 & Zuk Z1 to connect to 3G or 4G only network. it is very useful if you are in low coverage area and your fone continuously connecting to lower technology. Is there any ad-don or way around to get this option ?

2g only , 3g-2g auto connect

very simple !
install 4G Switcher from google play ( only works on samsungs)
open it
select LTE only
its only changes sim1 to lte only.
REMEMBER when you done your job (download) change it again to " LTE / UMTS auto" .
if you choose LTE only , you can't call anyone and nobody can call you !
