Tablet Mode/Play Store - Nexus 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

For the first time ever (6 Android devices) I felt no need to unlock/ root / flash my N7. I thought it was set up beautifully. Well, I finally gave in and rooted, only for the tablet UI. After using tablet mode for 2 days, I realized I like the default hybrid mode a lot better. So, using ROM Toolbox, I set the density from 160 back to default 213. My problem is...even though I set the density back to default, some apps are still showing incompatible. These are apps I used previously, like Picspeed HD to set wallpapers correctly, and Nova Launcher Prime as my main launcher.
I reset the density, cleared Playstore cache and data, and rebooted..but no dice.
Any ideas?
EDIT: NVM IT IS SORTED

Do You Change Your LCD Density? Apps Disappearing from Market? Read this.

For this LCD density issue with the new market, if you find that your apps are disappearing, switch back to 240 and reboot. All your apps should be there. Do your updates, and switch back to whatever density you were at. This has something to do with the Market thinking you're on a tablet rather than a phone, it's just a compatibility thing.
Maybe somebody will come up with a fix...
Actually, I thought that what my problem was. So I switched from Hyper Droid (167) to Typhoon (240) yet I can not see the apps. So I changed the density to "167" on Typhoon and uninstalled the new market .. All the apps are showing fine. Im not sure if it's an LCD Density issue.
Furthermore, on the new market I found some new apps, I have never been able to install on the older market. But as soon as I switched back, those apps disappeared and nothing showed them back.
New Market just doesn't work for me. Force quits after a little bit. Running AmeriCanDroid Nand.
Download the new market, replace it with the vending.apk in system/apps, then rename it vending.apk. From root explorer check all the permissions on the cache folder, reboot and enjoy (have been using the new market for a week now)
Are you able to update and download all apps? If so could you explain in more detail how you got new market to work. Explain as if you are talking to a child

tablet mode gapps

I know I can put my nexus 7 into tablet mode with a DPI change, but I like the way it is now but want the gapps in tablet mode. I read its possible and the apps can be modified and all that jazz. Has this been done and are the apks available somewhere? My gmail is already split but I'd like the gallery and YouTube in tablet mode.
Also, is there a tweak that can add a number bar on the stock keyboard since long presses aren't there?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1885935 this is what you wanted right? You can specify DPI for EACH individual app, like gmail in tab mode while email in phone mode. Hope this helps!
Kind of. I don't want to use the Paranoid ROM. Read here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1903519 Each app can be set to be in tablet mode or not. That thread has GTalk and GMail set, but no others. I'm looking for the Gallery app and Youtube. I was looking to see if anyone has tweaked the apps individually and have them ready to flash/install with tablet mode enabled. I'm not a fan of the full tablet mode on my Nexus7. It makes things just a bit too small for me.
No, you can set the workspace to phablet which is the interface on the n7. Then, you set a lower DPI for the YouTube app for example, so you can have YouTube app only running in tablet mode, while all other apps and the system ui in phablet n7 mode. That's hybrid. It will look the same as stock, except the apps you lower the DPI for tab mode.

[Q] Newbie! Few questions:

I recently got my Nexus 7, rooted it, but I'm not a Android PRO, so I have few questions:
1. How many RAM are widgets taking? For example, bookmarks widget, from Google Chrome.
2. How many RAM I need to have free for to do every task fast? Currently I have only 419mb, without any apps running (expect AccuWeather, Battery Widget, TouchPal, Maps, Powe Toggles).
3. Any way to stop apps running in background ( without any task killer)? I know that some apps need to do that, but how to stop games like "Pou"? It's constantly running!
Sorry for my bad English
1 - We can't tell you that, it depends on how many Widgets you use. The only way to really find out is check your RAM usage, add a widget and Check again, the difference is the amount of RAM that widget is taking.
2 - Not much RAM is used for each app, and when you minimise an App it is paused, effectivly not running, and then unpauses when you go into your app again.
3 - Easiest way is to go "Settings -> Apps -> Find "Pou" -> Force Close
These are very strange questions to be asking

Thanks, now I have 1 more question.
I want full tablet UI, but when I change dpi (or.ppi, i forgot) in build.prop, nothing happens, but icons are smaller and everything is totally strange :\
Yeah DPI isn't a very good alternate to getting a Tablet UI, used to be but not the best.
169 is the DPI I'm sure was used for Tablet UI.
Anyway, EASIEST I can suggest you try, which I personally use and love it.
Download: Apex Launcher from Google Play
Go to Apex settings, and look for "Tablet UI"
Thats sorted me out since I had the tab!
If you really want a great Tablet UI I'd suggest looking at - Paranoid Android ROM, however you need to be rooted and install it as its a custom ROM.

I changed it to 169, and again nothing . It's because of 4.2.2 update, Google removed that. Thanks, anyway.

It is 160, not 169

Minimum stable DPI setting for Note 4?

I set my DPI to 200 or something like that, and something kept crashing over and over again (com.android.keyguard) so I could not even use my phone. Also would not connect to the computer in order to fix it. So I forced a factory reset. I am using nova launcher, and someone in a similar thread had said it can go as low as they like with Nova? Not my experience... Ran into this problem before a couple years ago on my Note 8.0 also but never bothered asking about it.
Is the lowest stable setting known?
I personally use 387, as its on the list. 213 is the closest to 200 on the list with 164 being the closest in the high 100s.
640,430,387,286,242,234,213,164,157,145,135(listed twice),075,064

Help with changing resolution.

Recently tried booting my phone for the first time and after hours of precautions I managed to successfully boot my x play. However, changing my phone's resolution was not so successful.
My goal was to reduce my resolution to help run games(Pokemon go) faster and a lower DPI looks amazing.
I tried various resolution apps with all of them failing to work. So, I tried changing my build.prop file's DPI setting. It successfully reduced my DPI and my phone looked perfect, until half my apps crashed on starting them including messenger and textra.
I reset my DPI back to normal and the same apps continued to crash. Had to go back to factory for now, but looking for a possible solution for when i boot again. What have others done?
I changed dpi in build.prop to 380 and everything is fine. Try reinstalling crashing apps after changing dpi
I use texdroider_dpi (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.texdroider.texdroider_dpi&hl=en) for changing the resolution.
