on CM9 flashing UGJK3 modem = no connection - Galaxy S I9000 General

My phone was originally a Bell Vibrant (i9000m Canadian) which I flashed to CM9. The signal drop has been significant though (and I see other i9000 users using the UGJK3 modem. When I flash it using Odin, my phone won't connect (never gets signal).
So, how do I flash a modem correctly? Should I be wiping/factory reset? What's the process?

Search for siky's thread. And flash trough cwm.

Found the thread. Can I flash a JVT modem if my baseband is XXJVT?

Why would you flash jvt when you already have jvt...
Baseband=modem=radio

Stock modem for our bell/virgin mobile phones is KG3. Use it, works perfect for me.

I'm currently using ugjk4 with Telus (so same as bell towers) in Edmonton.
Flash modem through cwm, don't need to clear cache or factory reset
PS please post in Q&A section

Re-flash KC1, make sure the package has the bootloaders too.
Probably want to change csc to BWA as well. Most of the kc1 roms out there are from Bell.
Is SaskTel offering you an early upgrade?

How can you trade the phone in?
Goto samfirmware.com for sasktel firmwares
Samfirmware doesn't state which carriers have which firmware...

Whoa plz let us in on the secret, how are you obtaining an early upgrade to the sgs 2?
I would try the jh2 éclair stock rom on samfirmware.com, with pit, then make sure your csc is right for sasktel and then either bring it right in or use kies to upgrade to kc3 gb rom.

Honestly, I wouldn't worry too much. They probably would accept a device with custom firmware.

That might be true, you could always try and leave if they won't. They'll reflash it anyhow.

Personally, I've taken multiple i9000m's back to Sasktel with various i9000 firmwares, albeit stock. Like in his case, it didn't include the "m" on the splash screen. I've never had any troubles. YMMV, however.

4G not working, urgent

I flashed an international firmware on a Sprint S4, not knowing that it breaks root and custom recovery. I also lost my 4G. I can fix everything except the 4G. No idea how to begin, any idea?

Well you can begin by going to Sammobile and download the carrier's stock firmware. Flash it via odin. Stay on stock until you figure out how to fix 4G on custom roms.
Good luck, Im sure you'd be able fix it by flashing stock rom
Have you tried fishing the Sprint modem?

Sprint Modem? Can you go a bit more in detail please?
Indie offers an "EnableLTE.zip in the i9505 Omega Thread
This maybe fix the problem, OR AT WORST BRICK YOUR DEVICE
Honestly i have no idea if this works, so be careful.
Indie or another skilled person should know of this fix the LTE bug on your Sprint S4.

The modem is part of any full firmware and is usually different for each provider, region etc.
I believe the US lte frequencies are different to most of the other countries so if you don't have the correct modem your phone may be looking for the wrong frequency.
Try this link: http://www.rwilco12.com/downloads.php?dir=Files/Devices/Samsung Galaxy S4 (SPH-L720)/Modems
Flash the .tar file in odin in the phone section.
Edit: just remembered when the first ipad to have lte was released in Australia, Apple and resellers got into big trouble for marketing it as lte/4g. This was because although it was lte it didn't actually work with Australian lte frequencies. So as I mentioned above you will need a US modem. That's my best bet to get it going again.

Flashed it successfully, yet no 4g. Could it be that I need to flash a different firmware?

Did I brick my S4 from Bell by installing wrong Modem?

Hi,
I installed an ME2 modem for the GT-9505 by mistake and now I cannot get cell phone signal. I did it using Modem 2 in Odin Mobile. Is it possible to fix this?
Thanks,
Just find and flash your original modem. You should be fine

Does mobileodin work for flashing modems?

Anyone know if a certain version of mobile odin works for our phones?
I miss beyond able to flash a modem on the fly and kernel. Well kernel flashing works in recovery at least.

Edit:
You can use it to flash everythig BUT MODEMS
I saw modems and that was why I was quick to respond.
I haven't used it since my S3. But it has the Sprint GS4 under supported devices. I'm not usrr up to what software version though.

mobile odin and modems
In every post about flashing a new modern you have to completely power down and go into download mode and flash to get it to stick. Mobile odin
Does not power off to flash it works like a recovery and just flashes and reboots. So no it will never work to use mobile odin to flash modems.
Why they don't stick unless you power off i don't know
