Emmc chip problems - myTouch 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I need to return my phone to stock for a warranty replacement. I have pm15img installed already, but after following all the guides to turn s on I can't get it to work. I keep getting the error that the emmc power cycle failed. Any help would be appreciated.

Erm, this should have gone in Q&A.
I don't quite understand. You said you installed it, but it won't power cycle? What happens if you pull the battery and reboot?

The device will power cycle the emmc chip will not. sorry for posting in the wrong thread

you are correct. While the Fastboot option didn't entirely shut down the phone though it would only put it in a enhanced standby mode.
there is not quick boot option for this phone.
cm7 seems to boot pretty quickly. i don't think fastboot is necessary.
Actually I was wondering if fastboot would prevent cwm recovery from turning the phone on when charging while powered off.

That was the previous work around to the Recovery problem, so if CM7 don't have it then, yeaaaa dunno.
Just ended up flashing back factory recovery instead.

Where did you find the stock recovery image?
There's a link of it if you go to the resource bible sticky under development forum.
Sorry, I'd link it but writing from my phone.

Tell us what you have tried so far so we can help you figure out what else you need to try. I had tried a couple of different methods before i found one that worked. The one that i found to work for my phone was found on another site through a link i got on the ultimate s=off thread.
Thank you guys I went and got a root explorer and moved the Gfree files to data/local
Then ran it in terminal works wonderfull.

[Q]

I need some help installing roms. I am not new to installing roms, I have been installing roms since I had my T-mobile wing. Then I got a G1 and rooted that as well. I have 3.0.2.4 recovery installed and I am trying to install Viritous newest rom 1.1.5. I have installed before 1.05 and it worked fine I just changed it to another one. My problem is once the phone loads the rom it just bootloops to the white Mytouch4G screen. I have wiped cached and format as well. I haven't wiped the SD card yet. I hope I don't have to.
How long do you wait on the white screen?

Make sure you wipe the dalvik also. How are you trying to to install the rom through rom manager or actually from recovery itself?

Actually just check out the stickies in this section. The first one covers this pretty in depth.

[Q] Mytouch 4g is stuck on the mytouch 4g screen

and i can enter the hboot and recovery but i get
no image on the hboot menu
and the E: Cant open cache/recovery/log
im run on clockworkMod Recovery v3.0.2.4
and i tried falshing with one rom and it gave me
a error at the end
What can i do to get my mytouch 4g to work again
What rom did you try flashing before you soft bricked it?
Wipe all data again and flash another reputible rom see if that fixes it.

i used eViL-Virturious double shot and royalginger 3.0
and okay i will
try flashing PD151IMG.zip in bootloader (power down, volume down/power button). if it gives you Fail-PU, then you are truly bricked. the eMMC chip died, there is no way as of now to revive it. ask tmobile for a replacement.

Is it android 2.3.4? Because as of now, there is no way to root it, unless you downgrade to 2.2.1.

Try deleting data and cache in recovery and reinstalling ROM or test a different ROM
Sent from my HTC Inspire 4G using XDA App
I try that but can u show me where the other roms at. Because rom manager only have one and that's the one that mess up the phone.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
You can find other roms in the android development section of the thread for your specific phone.
