Android and google play store - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

My htc hd2 uses the
2.3.7 android and Baseband version 15,42,50,11U_2,15,50,14
Kernel version 2.6.32.15-g028bb98-dirty
[email protected] #15
Mod version:CyanogenMod-7-12292011-NIGHTLY-LEO
Build number GWK74
So when i loged into google play store i was unable to download any app.
I get the error "ou haven't accessed the google play store app on your device with this email account"
Dunno if it is because of phone or because of my e-mail ?It's an gmail e-mail account and i've never used it for android store - true.
So can anyone tell me how can i access the 450,000+++ apps on google store?
PS:I don't have google store app on my phone.I got it from friend and i'm really confused now.

if you have magldr, you could try out one of those SD-ROMs it's much easier to try it out that way & see if it will be the same

Magldr is not the problem. It may be that your gmail account is not authorized for play store. Try to login to the google play store website from a computer and see what happens.

and when i try to install any app it says "You haven't accessed the google play store app on you device with this e-mail account [Learn more]
I've downloaded goog play store app (moded in this forum) and installed it by cliking on it,rebooted my device and i found it on menu, click on it and still needs some ACcount then i click Add account there are 2 choices either Skype or Corporate , if i add skype ,nothing happens if i try with corporate using my gmail account when try to connect it says "Unable to connect to server"
PS:I am logged with same g-mail account in e-mail app
Can anyone please help me?I have no idea what should i do ,i have this increadible phone but still almost impossible to use like 3 days now ;(
Please , please HELP! (If u are going to explain something explain it with more info please!)

i'm tired of reading all kind of stufffs, the solution in most threads i've found is to install gapps with recovery mode and load it from sd card, but unfortunately whatever i try (either with Rom loader to boot into recovery or with the power down button while phone is turning on)i can't get into recovery mode so i can install the damn gapps ;((((((((((((((
CAN anyone PLEASE HELP ME,it's reallyyyyyyyyy frustrating it's been few days and i am stuck with this nonsence that I can't connect my google account with phone so i can start downloading apps from google play store.

My last suggestion is to start from scratch. Use Nand Toolkit to flash magldr and recovery, partitioning the phone and install rom via recovery.

I've found how to load into magldr ,so now when i tried with option 8 , so i can install the gapps.zip
it says "Android RAW load
Error : Invalid boot image header"
Any suggestion?

Try reflashing recovery.

try to reflash recovery and set repartition

would this work in my case :showthread.php?t=1239007
?
Or if u can point me into righ dirrection of how to reflash recovery ?

You can use hd2toolkit to reflash it
1.task29
2.magldr
3.radio
4.set magldr partition
5.flash rom
6.reboot and enjoy

Dude... what about reading guides? This ones sounds like it could help:
HD2 NAND Toolkit - Toolkit for HD2 Users
Flashing Your First HD2 Clockwork Mod Android Rom

It is so clear that he had not flashed google apps (gapps) on his rom because the rom doesn't have an option for google account neither did it have play store (Also it's a cyanogenmod nightly which are known for this) and you guys mislead him so much...

[Q] HTC Wildfire 2.2.1 No Market

I have an HTC Wildfire with Froyo 2.2.1 factory. It did not come with Android Market.
I tried to install the following files that I found linked on XDA but they are force closing:
vending2.2.11-signed
Vending_original_froyo_1.82
com.android.vending_2.2.6
I just found a 2.2.7 and I will try that but does anyone know what I can do?
no root no market
As far as I know, you can not install market without root access. And factory 2.2.1 can not be rooted as of this moment. But soon hopefully we will have root thanks to alpharev devs.
Good luck.
You can install apks without root by using HTC Sync. I put Skype, eBuddy, etc on but I cannot seem to find the right vending.apk that won't keep crashing.

Its really painful to have an android phone without market app. The stock froyo wildfire doesn't even have a file manager. Just after the hard reset, everytime i had to download the "X-plore" file manager from market to access the sd card contents (and even to start installing apk files.)
Ok. U must have added a gmail account to ur wildfire. If not do it. I think in this way if ur phone can be registered on google, then u might have option to remote install apps from PC android market (or) even the android market from your stock browser of wildfire which has htc flash lite [using the same gmail account that is attached to phone]. From browser, just after clicking on the install option, then u will see device compatibility. Here if u can see "wildfire" then it is possible. Just after confirming the installation, ur wildfire starts downloading the requested application (provided wildfire should be connected to internet). If download doesn't start, i think this remote installation requires market application on phone.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
APP BRAIN APP MARKET ACCESS:
Ok..... Irrespective of the above android market, u can access the app brain app market and install apps from it. This one also can be accessed from a browser for remote app installation. As the present "app brain" and "fast web installer" apps are available for free in market, im attaching those things for u.
--- First install the below attached AppBrain_App_Market_v6.02.apk file. Then install the below attached Fast_Web_Installer_v2.11.apk" file. Then open the app brain and sign in with appropriate account. Then sync the apps on your phone. Then go to its settings and enable fast web installer. That's all. Now u will have the direct install option from the "app brain" app or from the browser of app brain website.
And one more thing for u. I have extracted "vending.apk" from the system folders of my same stock 2.2.1 wildfire. When opened it replaces the market app on my wildfire.
So it might install the google market app on ur wildfire. Also attaching that file.
Yes you can install apks without root. But you can't install market (vending apk) without root. It is a system file. atleast I could not
I thought for appbrain to work properly you still need market installed on your device. I don't think simply installing vending apk would work. You will get force closes. But you can still try. If you can't get it to work, you can use slideme . You can get it from www.slideme.org. It does not have as many apps as market does but it is a start.
Good luck,

Thanks for the help all.
I will try the extracted Vending apk. If that fails I will go the appBrain route. I did install appBrain but uninstalled it without trying anything. I was committed to getting Market.
It does really suck that they would not give you a way to get Market if your phone did not come with it.

Maybe u r right. Maybe the enabling of fast web installer needs Android market licence agreement. But I think its hard to say these things.
To check this, phone needs to be formatted to remove the google/market account. It will try to check it when I get time.
Hope the vending.apk works

As a last resort you can flash an official WWE rom which has market in it. I believe this can be done with a goldcard.

Ok, i checked some things. I may be wrong, and pls correct me if so.
-- Installation from pc android market is the same as fast web installer. So, it will be like either both work or both doesn't work.
-- I freshly formatted the phone and added the gmail account. But didn't open the market app. That means i didn't accepted the android market terms of service. I think this case is similar to the absence of market application in phone. Now i opened the pc android market and sign in with the same gmail account. I tried to install an app, but the device is not listed in compatibility list. Same with the app brain here. App brain gets installed but fast web installer cannot be enabled.
-- Then i opened the android market and accepted the terms of service. Now i can install apps from pc android market. Also here the fast web installer of app brain can be enabled. Everything works fine.
-- Then what i did is , go to the settings/ applications/manage applications/ , then opened market and uninstalled updates. Also cleared the data. This makes the android market become stock one again. Now when opened, it again asks for terms of service. Now without accepting the terms of service, i tried to install apps from pc android market. And it worked. Also the app brain fast web installation works here.
-- If i again format the device, same thing will be repeated again. I need to accept the terms of service for only the first time to make the fast web install work.
-- And if we change the sim card, we need to re-enter the password of the gmail account again. And till that, fast web installation will not work.
I don't know how to explain these, but maybe google will be having details regarding our phone format.

What i said in post #4 might not work.
And u said u installed apps with HTC sync. Is that ur carrier disabled the installation from unknown sources. If it is the case, OMG u really need a WWE RUU. If its not the case, maybe vending.apk or the WWE RUU solves ur problem.
If ur hboot is 1.01.0002 , then u can go with this process to flash a WWE RUU

I will check hboot. I did try reflashing it with some RUUs and it told me version mismatch, but that RUU had a lower version number.
This is an unlocked phone bought from online. I can install from unknown sources, I just can't seem to install the Vending.apk because they force close.
It would force close when I launch.
Then I try again and it would let me in.
Then it would force close when I search
Then it would let me back in and let me search
Then it would force close when I try to install an app. That is as far as it will go as it will force close everytime I try to install an app.
I will try all this stuff when I get the chance. Right now I am using my Moto Defy which I wish would get Froyo
You get version number error because the firmware on your phone is newer. But If you create a gold card and install the ruu it should work. Just search for gold card tool from klush( I hope I did not misspell it). It is very easy to do.
Then you should be able to flash any official ruu.

Sorry, appbrain just won't work if you don't have the market installed, as AppBrain still lets the market handle all app downloads.
may be u can use 1mobile market beside android market.because it almost cover all application in android market.the good news is yo don't need to register anything to download and install in your wildfire

Please help in Htc wildfire not able to download application from android market

Dear Experts,
i am new to this forum, recently i brought htc wildfire but i am unable to download any applications from android market, when i log in android market website it shows no android device found with this id try another id, this is same id which i was entered initial phone setup.
And also i am not able to open android market application in my mobile when i click on this its take some time to loading and immediately close the application.
I try many forums for the solution some people told me to make factory reset i did but same prob no use.
hope.......
regards,
if u're using stock rom it's a bit strange :s did you set your account google ?
Freshly format your phone. During initial setup add gmail account and after setup make sure you enable background data and autosync.
And first you need to use phone market application to download something. If it gives error wait for sometime and download again. Then you can even access market from browser.
And suppose if you format the phone and haven't added gmail account yet, then you cannot use market through browser until you add the account to phone and download atleast an app from phone market (actually accepting to market "terms of service" is enough. It comes for 1st time when you open market).

Did you try to hard reset it? It will work. And make sure after the hard reset you have a WIFI/3G/Edge so you can follow the on-screen instructions and then try to download from the Market. You won't face any problems...

[Q]Android Market issue with buying apps.

Hello!
It's my first post so I hope everything I write here is in correct place. I wanna add that I was searching for similar threads so I think I didn't miss anything. My problem is that:
I registred at Market with my old GMAIL account, and I can download any free apps but when I wanna buy something and I press to buy for example 0.69p button I see next page and instantly message appears that: "Error has occured, please try again." I tried through my PC, I went to market and buy something, I add card etc everything happen correctly I even have my application on phone without doing anything, but still after many reboots the problem isn't solved. I have to add that I live in UK and installed CM7 today so maybe I have to update something or so. (Tried restart.)
Thank you kindly,
Rec.

are you using the new market/ what lcd_density are you using?
Well I don't even know how to update Android Market, and I just use one provided with software after installation. I downloaded from Market LCD Density for Root app and when I run It I see that default is 240, so I think this is my density, otherwise I don't know how to check it if it's wrong.
Thanks.
Edit:
Sorry I am blind I didn't provide information of ROM, it's: TyphooN CyanogenMod 7 Nightly v3.7.3[2.3.7][A2SD][tytung r12.4v3]
use market 3.1.5. I have also this issue after using market 3.2
Can I ask how to do it ? Since I found 3.1.5 apk file but it is impossible to overwrite it or even remove higher version of market. I don't know if it matters but when I try to install for example themes etc through clockwork I also have this issue:
Amend scripting (update-script) is no longer supported.
Amend scripting was deprecated by Google in Android 1.5.
It was necessary to remove it when upgrading to the ClockworkMod 3.0 Gingerbread based recovery.
Please switch to Edify scripting (updater-script and update-binary) to create working update zip packages.

Any possibility for getting any tutorial how to do it ? I was trying a lot of methods and nothing. I would be very thankfull for any help.

I'm assuming that many people do have market working on the Typhoon build, and therefore there must be something wrong with my set up....
if everyone had to downgrade market surely the typhoon thread would be loaded with comments on it!
So I'm tempted to just go for a full blank and reinstall...task 29, reinstall CWM clear out caches and dalvik cache from CWM, reinstalled Typhoon and see....
trouble is I'm not sure if that really clears everything, and might make it work....so some advice on getting it right would be appreciated.....as it takes time to get it all set up again, as I'd assume best not to use any backed up info/data/settings from Nandroid or titaniam in case what ever is causing the problem gets restored......
Cheers again for any advice
K
So I have tried clearing caches from ROM manager, CWM, rebooting....
I can see this question asked in the Typhoon thread, at least twice with no answer (I can't yet post there).
BTW I can buy Apps from Market on the PC and it sucesfully installs on the HD2...so I think my accounts stuff is all fine.
So I guess the info I'm looking for if a specific fix is not known is "how to do a real and total wipe" - I'm confused by what Task29 does, and what I need to do to "blank" the SD card.....which I assume I should also do?
Any hints/steps?
or even any idea of if a total blank will help?

I wrote this on another thread I created.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=20370071#post20370071
Hello all okay so I have another issue I ran into with Tytung's ICS ROM for the HD2.
When I go into the Marketplace I am able to download free apps and/or apps I have previously purchased but when I go to purchase a new app I get the error: "An error occurred. Please try again". I am able to purchase it online and it will send to the phone and download, I am able to purchase apps on my Motorola Defy running CM7, I have even tried wiping the the phone data & cache and wiping dalvic and re-installing but this still didn't work. Is anyone else experiencing this issue? Hope you can help.
I had this same issue with Tytungs Nexus ROM, but I also had other issues where software switches would be changed e.g. mobile data etc.
When the latest update arrived I decided to do a fresh install, task29, radio, MAGLDR, format SD, the works.
Now the market purchase works perfectly, it was probably one crummy corrupt bit somewhere in the phone but couldn't find it.

Cant find free ROM Manager

Ok, just found one from the web but now when I go to "flash clockworkmod recovery" there is a blank screen at the su request. I tried clearing the "superuser permissions" under applications but it made no difference. Anyone got any ideas?
I still dont understand why I could'nt see ROM Manager in the Market place.

I guess you have mistakenly clicked decline when google play license agreement popped on your device.
All you need to do is to go to setting then scroll down to applications, then you need to find google play there, click on it and then click on clear data.Again find google services framework and clear its data. Now reboot and wait for 10 minutes after your phone boots. Then try downloading an app,it should work.
hi, thanks for your help guys, i'll try that rightnow, in the meantime, i have just found out i cannot receive calls...i can make them and i can send and recieve texts, just cant recieve calls, have tried another sim card in it and it does the same so it is the phone. Is there a setting i may of mistakenly hit or need to set up again to receive calls in the menu settings? thanks again

Please could you briefly tell me how to:
Formating all partitions.

Flash gapps zip

Now we see your problem.. you are flashing wrong gapps... As you see ics means icecream sandwich i.e android 4.. You should download gapps for cm7 which I think should be like gapps-gb-20110828... I am not sure about the date.. download the correct file. Then flash cm and gapps again by going into recovery and selecting install zip from sd ( you should transfer the zip files to sdcard beforehand).
