Did you take off the sticker on the back (at the bottom)? - Nexus 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

There is a sticky strip at the bottom of my tablet which has the serial number, ce mark etc. During normal landscape use, I have found that this sticker is starting to come away!
Would there be any harm in removing this sticker?
Probably a daft question!

Remove and burn.

I took it off as soon as I opened up my nexus 7. There's no way that will stay on.

I would preserve it in the box on some wax paper. May or may not be useful...

I left it on my original tf101
Ripped it off my nexus instantly.

Just curious is there anywhere in the system that shows the serial number corresponding to the one on the back sticker?

It had that "peel here" flap so peel I did.

Took it off right away and stuck in on the box. Which now sits in the closet.

That sticker has the ASUS serial # on it. If you want to register you 7 with them then you need that #. The Google number is in About Phone

Isn't all the info you could potentially need on the side of the box?

Settings > About Tablet > Status
You serial number is at the bottom

I did not being that the tab is manufactured by Asus, even though I bought it from the play store, I know how fussy Asus can be in regards to RMA for Warranty if it ever comes to me having to do so with them...I've read on the prime forums that a user was denied an RMA because the SN Sticker on the bottom much like the one on the Nexus 7 was removed.

I also rip the tags off my pillows just as soon as I get them home!!!

You can also find the serial number on the box if I remember correctly.

It's at the garbage dump probably along with the plastic wrapping

Mine is still on the back, I just moved it higher up so i wouldn't touch it with my hand when using the thing in landscape mode.

Took it off, put it back in box. Smart move because it looks cleaner without all of that certification stuff

Actually surprised how well the sticker stuck on to the back, even as I was taking it off. Granted, it probably would have gotten caught on something eventually and peeled off on its own at some point if I didn't take it off. It just seemed like a good place for dust to creep in and dirty up my beautiful N7

Nexus 4 Paste leather decoration

Does anyone know where I could get this done in the US??

Someone posted a link a few days ago that offered multiple colored leather-like things as well as carbon fiber ones. Can't find the link for the life of me anymore though...
Nice but personally, I wouldn't want to cover up that gorgeous glittery back... But hey, to reach his own, right?

What should I do when it comes ?

My baby is coming in this week what are some things I should do to it when it first gets here ? I heard I can calibrate the screen colors and make them super punchy ? Omg I'm just so freaking excited

Obviously... But in what way ?

Unlock and root before you do anything since that wipes the phone.
Don't be that excited.. It's still just an android phone. You may want to buy it a few drinks first to make sure you even get it before you worry about how fast it comes.
Do a factory reset after turning it on, then set it up.

Buy screen protector spigen dual and get a case. Bumpers are most aesthetically pleasing.

Why
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
Keep calm and Fastboot oem unlock
Put it in a case
Screen protector (make sure you actually take off the initial protectors before you put a screen protector)
WiFi to set up your Google account
Latex gloves if you don't want to put finger prints on it.
Pepper your angus
First thing to do is unlock bootloader, get a custom recovery and start flashing!

Hug it, kiss it. Spin around with it in slow motion gazing slowly into its screen. Then use it. Use it like life depends on it.

Need Nexus 7 box

Anyone know where I can find a nexus 7 box cheap?
Mine was destroyed in water damage.
I was able to save the outer sleeve but the main box that holds the nexus is "toast".
Just nice to have one in case I need to store it or sell in future.
THX
Try eBay. Were a few for sale last time I looked

Just a little heads up that rom manager looks to be dropped by Google play. Don't know if it affects all countries but certainly here in the U.K
