Well, I have a desktop station I am finishing up, it be nice to use a main camera.
Plus, why wouldn't you? I even thought of using it as a back up camera for trips. Hell, even just to experiment.
It would be awesome

usb cam on nexus 7
I have a logitech quickcam pro 9000 mounted on the nexus with sticky mount.
I havent found any application yet to get it working.
I have tried several apks, like "usb cam Controller" and others. Unmounting the camera while this apk is running gives a message "camera detached".

I find most people tend to think anything bigger then a tiny phone or actual camera looks far too silly to use for a camera...
I find the 7 inch tablet standard to be awesome for taking pictures though. I'd be interested in trying to get some external camera to work, just have to see if I even have one lying around though
Check over at slatedroid.com under viewsonic gtablet then under ROM/development. Look through the last 10 pages or so of their ICS thread. They had a USB Cam working (or do a search for USB cam). I'm sure the script or driver could be ported over by someone. Sorry for another website mention, I'm just trying to help. Also you could contact fosser2 at slatedroid (I think he's on xda also).

In skype you have to go into settings then at the bottom somewhere there is a tick box that says enable video calling, it is not in ticked by default because of something about it not being perfect yet, works well for me tho.. Not sure about tango.
Edit: if you wanna use the front cam to just take pics normally and for some reason you can't access the stock app the best way is to just download a third party camera app, bought vignette on sale today and that works perfectly too.

Depends, ask your store or google. But it is alright if it is with google, you will get your new device before sending the old one
But anyway, try to factory reset or flash the stock rom before.

I got "Cannot connect to camera" message in all camera apps on Nexus 7 when running Skype in the background. The other apps started working again when I killed Skype. Its not your tablet thats broken -- its Skype.
Camera is not working in some custom ROMs afaik

You only have one camera. Skype will reserve it, and no other app can get to it if Skype is running in the background. Be aware of what you actually have running.

So far I basically use this thing as a web browser, twitter reader and forum crawler.
Of course I rooted, themed, installed new kernels, bricked it, brought it back to life, and now I'm back to stock rooted.
So what else can this thing do? I bought a USB dongle thinger but I don't like watching movies on the small screen (I get headaches easy). Give me some ideas?

Have you tried alternate ROMs? If not, I'd recommend Paranoid Android. It's smooth, fast, stable, and it allows you to choose between phone, phablet, and tablet mode for every app.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1800268
If PA isn't your style, try Slimbean or Cyanogenmod 10.
There are a lot of ROMs out there to mess around with.

How about getting tablet mode by installing ROM Toolbox Lite and changing the DPI from 213dpi to 160dpi?
It's under Performance/build.prop.tweaks
You'll need to be rooted though.

Games, news, geocaching (tether it to your phone via bluetooth), use it as a GPS on your bike/car if you have one (I use my phone for now, and you can cache the maps before hand too, so no data connection needed), control your DSLR camera if you have one, setup an andruino system/project and use the N7 as a remote, use it as universal remote in your home (friend is doing that w his Galaxy Tab 2 7"), etc.
Imagination is the limit.

I don't know if you are into reading books, but ever since I got the N7, I've started downloading and reading ebooks (not through Google Books tho). Prior to that, the last time I actually read a fictional book was years ago. After I finish my current series, I'm thinking of downloading Wattpad.

I have a Nexus 7, and I want to do video tutorials to show other people how to do certain things on the Nexus 7. I don't want to root, and I've tried doing the ADB/[email protected] thing on a Windows XP computer, then plugging my Nexus in. On the devices list, nothing shows up. Is there a better tutorial out there, or a better way to record screen? I'd really appreciate help. Thanks!
ATM screencast in the android market doesn't support the nexus line yet. If you have a digital camera you can use that. Your smart phone will work too.

Just found a solution
This isn't perfect, but it's the best thing I've found so far:
I can't post a link because I'm new here as a member, but search the Play store for MirrorOP Sender.
It's called MirrorOP Sender, and it pushes a video feed of the screen. Get MirrorOP Receiver for Windows or another android device and you can get the video feed there, and control the device from it. You could do a "proxy screen caster", perhaps, but not a direct one.
There are some apps int the market but none of them works on Tegra2 or Tegra3...
You can still give a try...

i changes time format from 24 to 12 it made watch boot loop any ideas??
this is the Mimi W2, right?
http://www.mimi-hk.com/product.php?id_product=23&id_lang=1
seems to me this is more of a U8 clone, it has the same mic/speaker implementation (phone audio is always on the speaker of the watch, you have to switch manually)
also, the Smartwatch2A.apk that can be downloaded for notifications looks/works exactly like BTNotifier that comes with the U8
and one of the U8 firmware updates changed the icons from black/white to color...
